Eden Rock - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Had dinner here on our last night of our vacation in St. Barth's. Food was excellent, service spot on. Great restaurant, amazing view, great ambiance. The only comment I would add is that while this is a very good restaurant with a well known Chef, the prices are very high. Entrees were 60-70 euros and we've eaten at many excellent restaurants, this seemed excessive. We had many great dinners in St. Barth's including this one but that price tag left an impression.
It all lives up to the hype. Food, service, ambiance are all outstanding. The prices live up to the hype as well. Every meal we had in St Barths was outstanding, this one was no exception. If you want to shell out the big bucks you wont be disappointed.... but this is not the only place on the island to have an unbelievably outstanding meal with a great view (at a much lower price point). All in all, quite fabulous and memorable.
To me chef Jean George's cuisine and menu are the best in the world. On the Rock restaurant keeps his signature, its extremely delicious. The restaurant is beautiful located at Eden Rock hotel right on the rock so you have a stunning view over the St Jean's Bay. Please try the Thon Crustillant and the lobster tail or mahi- mahi and don't miss the tart au framboise! C'est sublime!
What an amazing spot!! Delicious food. Great for a couples night out...not ideal for children. Totally a romantic date night location or special occasion spot! Food was fabulous! Watching th mixologist was the highlight of my night with a post-dinner cigar at the bar!
We were travelling the Caribbean on Sea Dream II. The food on board this ship is exceptional and it takes a lot to make us want to head somewhere else for a meal. Eden Roc did not disappoint. Wow - what a setting. I would recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, our server was so pleasant, champagne delish , fish cervechi was tasty and fantastic , main courses were nice porttions husband had the veal chop and I had lobster tail. Dessert was chocolate mousse cake with ice cream. Out of this world!
This amazing, well known place is run by the famous French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. We booked our table on open table and got a super nice table overlooking the water. The ambiance
is romantic and nice. Before entering the "on the rocks" restaurant, you walk past the DJ who played awesome music. I loved the funk and soul music they played to enhance our dinner experience. The waitstaff was attentive and amazing and they have a sommelier on staff to answer any questions for wine paring. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the artichoke veloute soup that had black truffle and fois grois. It wa absolutely amazing. I got the lobster tail entree while my fiancé got the black cod seasoned with ginger mirin glaze entree. Everything here was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, the service, and the food. An amazing place all around.
If you have the chance to go to Eden Rock for lunch, it is not to be missed! Lobster salad was a delicious blend of flavors. The burgers were delicious and cooked to perfection. ---- And what could I say about the view? No where else can you enjoy your day than sitting by the water with spectacular views!
We went while in St Barths for Valentines Day. They are much less formal than On The Rocks but it was beautiful. The view and the service were excellent. The food was very good but they had a set menu fore Valentnes Day which we were not informed of prior to going. They did switch the main course for us which was nice. It's romantic and well worth a visit . When there you should have a drink at the bar at On The Rocks to enjoy the view from the upstairs as well as get a feel for the outstanding Eden Rock Hotel. It's also great for lunch.
We really enjoyed it the food was great the service was wonderful the atmosphere was perfect. We tried two desserts and they were great. Highly recommend it. The food came really fast we love that. It was nice to be able to look over the beach and the water .
I visited the Eden Rock twice in the last 2 weeks while I was in St. Barts. The 1st visit was good, the 2nd was not so great. The food has become nothing special. I remember the Eden Rock over the past few years as being exceptional but not this year. The food was mediocre at best with a large price tag attached to it. Just too expensive for the quality of food. The staff I must say is always superb ...at least they still have that right.
We had an extremely pleasant diner at the Sandy Bar; other than the location and cuisine, which I am certain everyone comments on, we would like to make special mention of the courteous and friendly staff who combine the exact proper proportion of professionalism and warmth. Special mention to Manager Francois Morello for his gracious welcome.
Great place for dinner on St Bart's - food was spectacular- drinks were also incredible. For appetizers we had a crab and a lobster dish - both over the top with presentation and taste. For dinner we had a filet of beef and scallops with tagliatelle and truffles. I could smell the truffles before there were even near the table. Both spectacular. Dessert was equally spectacular with a carribean chocolate cake and a hazelnut praline dish.
We had a wonderful lunch with good food but should have picked a less busy day to go, not Christmas Eve. This restaurant on the beach does offer great food and drinks but I felt rushed as it was hustle and bustle. It's a great setting though for people who want to see and be seen and enjoy fast pace and loud dining. I had the feeling of being in a big city restaurant rather than on a tropical island beachfront.
