Had the tasting menu. Great variety, and progression of flavours. Was not impressed with the meat dishes: lobster was tough, duck tasted a bit off, and the bison was overcooked and a tad tough. Otherwise was great with unique flavours. Staff were friendly and attentive. There were lots of "extra" dishes not officially on the menu, but great tasting. The spicy dessert was a great conclusion to the meal. A few of the "extra" dishes were just "ok". I would genuinely want to try the vegetarian option the next time because I think most of the weak spots were with the meat dishes (and was more impressed with the vegetables that accompanied the meat dishes. Also can say the sommelier was not very helpful (as others have mentioned in other reviews). No guidance to select a few glasses that would pair well with the tasting menu, simply "whites work well with fish dishes, reds for meat dishes". Thank you genius, it's not my first time drinking wine. I'm sure the full pairing would be great, but have done wine pairings before and found it way too much to drink. Would be nice if the somellier had something to suggest other than that we should look at their selection. Although the review focuses on areas for improvement, it was overall a great meal and experience for a special occasion. We were the first ones to arrive in hopes of getting a glimpse of the views, but it gets dark too early this time of the year. Near the end of our meal, an obnoxious group arrived with a very loud lady in jeans who proceeded to parade around the restaurant to look out the windows next to other diner's tables. She was loud, and clearly not the brightest: "that's a picture of peyote lake" "what is wagyu?" and loudly exclaimed how proud she was of wearing her jeans to a restaurant that explicitly requests you not wear jeans when you make the reservation. Was actually entertaining for the brief period we were there, but would have likely ruined many evenings if you had to listen to that for 3 hours.
We chose a tasting menu which was mediocre. The restaurant was trying hard to be first class but missed the mark. Service was good but the food let them down. Wine pairings were good.
I have never experienced such high quality of customer service until I came here. Staff was amazing, food was amazing and presentation was fantastic. Would definitely come back. The staff went above and beyond to exceed my expectations.
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. Staff was very friendly and the ambiance second to none
Strong meat dishes including bison and goose. Great wine pairing. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere.
Absolutely one of the best meals we ate in Banff. Highly recommended! Made my wife feel exceptionally special for her 30th Birthday! 5 stars!
Great food and service. We had the season special which was good value. Regular prices steep.
we had the 10 course meal. absolutely unbelievable. so many tastes and contrast and so much thought went into each dish
The food was too clever by half. The presentation was spectacular but unfortunately the flavour was lacking. The steak was all gristle and fat despite the $10 surcharge (!). The menu looked creative on paper but in reality a disappointment.
Excellent as always!!. This is the third time we have had diner at Eden for our anniversary and they never disappoint.
