Eden - Rimrock Resort Hotel Ratings and Reviews
The wine, especially when doing "Eden Pairings", is other worldly. Unrivaled by most restaurants.
The food is unique and varied.
The service is exquisite. Three servers for a table. The recommendations and pairings are on point.
All well looking down over a frozen skating rink (winter) down the mountain into the town of Banff. The view alone is worth the trip.
Exceptional service. They were absolutely wonderful about making our experience special. Many times it felt as though we were the only customers in the world - they were that attentive.
No sooner than I had mentioned my daughter’s appetizer selection was not to her liking than they offered to send her anything else from the menu, which was gratefully accepted and quickly served. Absolutely perfect night.
The entire evening was outstanding, the service was certainly unbeatable. The staff were very professional and all attentive. The food was exactly what we were hoping for. Rob's wine pairings and information about the wines he chose and why added to our evening away.
Had the tasting menu. Great variety, and progression of flavours. Was not impressed with the meat dishes: lobster was tough, duck tasted a bit off, and the bison was overcooked and a tad tough. Otherwise was great with unique flavours. Staff were friendly and attentive. There were lots of "extra" dishes not officially on the menu, but great tasting. The spicy dessert was a great conclusion to the meal. A few of the "extra" dishes were just "ok". I would genuinely want to try the vegetarian option the next time because I think most of the weak spots were with the meat dishes (and was more impressed with the vegetables that accompanied the meat dishes. Also can say the sommelier was not very helpful (as others have mentioned in other reviews). No guidance to select a few glasses that would pair well with the tasting menu, simply "whites work well with fish dishes, reds for meat dishes". Thank you genius, it's not my first time drinking wine. I'm sure the full pairing would be great, but have done wine pairings before and found it way too much to drink. Would be nice if the somellier had something to suggest other than that we should look at their selection. Although the review focuses on areas for improvement, it was overall a great meal and experience for a special occasion. We were the first ones to arrive in hopes of getting a glimpse of the views, but it gets dark too early this time of the year. Near the end of our meal, an obnoxious group arrived with a very loud lady in jeans who proceeded to parade around the restaurant to look out the windows next to other diner's tables. She was loud, and clearly not the brightest: "that's a picture of peyote lake" "what is wagyu?" and loudly exclaimed how proud she was of wearing her jeans to a restaurant that explicitly requests you not wear jeans when you make the reservation. Was actually entertaining for the brief period we were there, but would have likely ruined many evenings if you had to listen to that for 3 hours.
Very slow service when we arrived. We were seated at our table for 25 minutes before a server came. The Sommelier was very good, but too busy. We usually had our food before we had the wine that should go with each course. Overall, we had a nice time and good food and wine, but the service didn’t justify the price. I hate to short the staff on the tip because I don’t think it’s fair to them if management hasn’t scheduled enough staff, but it hurts to put down a tip of over $100 for slow service.
Amazing experience! The staff was unbelievable and the food was amazing! Shout out to Steven the bartender who made us amazing drinks all night!
Definitely recommend this restaurant for date night, special occasions and/ foodies who want to try creative and delicious dishes! The price was worth it!
This restaurant is very good but it tries too hard. The staff gives great service but we had so many people waiting on us we could not tell who was in charge of what, and they tried so hard to give good service that they were intrusive. That's not how Michelin-starred restaurants do it, and it seems like Eden is trying hard to earn their first star. They need to dial the service back a notch or two. The food is very good but the creativity and design of it is overdone. This is tweezer food to the max, but they need to simplify things. Our prix fixe meal, for example, featured a cheese course that had three small cubes of the same cheese covered with a melty slice of the same cheese! And dessert was a deconstructed mess of orange and chocolate (which is normally a great combination) that combined frozen and warm ingredients into a hot mess. It was $600 for two people, and when you are paying that kind of money you expect more/better. At least we do.
The food looks like art, taste stunningly amazing and is paired perfectly by a very knowledgeable sommelier. The view is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is just the loveliest. The dinner was filled with surprises that we will not forget. Thank you to all the Eden staff for such a wonderful evening.
Great view of the Rockies, exquisite and tasty food, impeccable and friendly service, great wine list, and more. A near perfect dinner experience. We had the Chef's Tasting Menu, which consisted of 7-10 courses. We did not include the wine pairings, but enjoyed a nice bottle of wine. Highly recommended and worth the drive to get there.
We were visiting from Los Angeles for our anniversary and my wife's birthday. While the food wasn't exactly what my wife and I were expecting, we were hoping for more Canadian game dishes, it was still an excellent meal. It was our last night in Canada and we couldn't have picked a more romantic place.
We just had dinner for our 2 year anniversary after a long day of hiking in Lake Louise. We called ahead to let them know we were running late and they were kind enough to accommodate us. The staff was incredible, I wish I could give more stars. They were knowledgeable, friendly and paid attention to every detail. And even though it was getting pretty late, they made us feel very welcome and didn't rush us. The food was amazing. Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavours were well balanced. We've tried flavour combinations today that we never would have known was possible! For example, the hint of curry in the Tropical dessert, what a nice surprise! The sommelier really knew his stuff and he even found a wine for my bf (the non-wine drinker) that he actually liked. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a special occasion dinner or just as a nice treat. It's well worth it. Thank you Chad, Chuck, Charles and the rest of the staff at Eden, you guys made our night and we'll be back again! 😸
One of the best meals and dining experiences I have ever had. Definitely compare it to a French Laundry (Napa) experience. Everything was done to perfection, especially the service and you can't beat the view. It is expensive and we knew that going in but it is incredibly worth it! Highly recommend for a 5 star dining experience.
Spectacular! The morel app is a must have. The foie gras nicely done. Skip the sweet corn soup. A three course meal plenty of food. I had the sabrefish which is great. The wine pairings were perfect with the entrees we had. The service was great and they made my wife's birthday dinner a special one.
