Awesome. Will be back in the future.
Had the 4 course dinner with 100 Day Dry-Aged Beef Striploin as the main course.
I have never had dry-aged steak before so I had no idea what to expect. I was excited to see what a medium-rare dry-aged steak would be like.
What I got was the worst piece of steak I've ever had - no exaggeration.
First of all, it was well-done. Again, I have never had dry-aged beef so I thought maybe this was the norm for dry-aged beef (even though I ordered medium-rare). Second, it was so dry that the texture resembled that of deli meat (prosciutto) - literally 0% moisture left in the steak.
I'm not sure if it was the combination of being over-cooked and dry or it was a bad cut of beef, but the steak basically had no taste. It was similar to eating bland beef jerky.
I should have pointed it out immediately to the server, but I proceeded to eat it anyway. The main course was so bad that it pretty much ruined the entire dinner.
Had I known better about dry-aged beef, I would've had the dish sent back immediately, but I didn't know any better at the time.
Either way, the chef cooking that night was awful. It was as if the steak had been cooked for 10 minutes longer than it should have been. On a side note, my wife had the 9 course and had the venison as the main course. Believe it or not, the venison was cooked in a similar way to that of my steak and came out to deli-meat consistency - super dry. An otherwise good evening ruined by 2 awful main courses, which should have been the highlight of the dinner. The other courses were good but the main dishes were 0 out of 5 - and that is being generous.
I've had a pleasant experience in the past at Eden but this past Wednesday's experience was disappointing to say the least.
We did the 9 course tasting menu and the food was spectacular. The portions were more than enough and we both left too full to get a drink afterwards! The staff were easily one of the best parts of the evening. Benoit and Gustavo were very kind from the beginning and made sure to check in with us throughout the meal. Robert was very knowledgeable about all the wines, and Chaz and Katie were great at keeping the night light and fun! Overall, everything was phenomenal!
We ate here for a birthday get together with 2 other couples and had the 4 course Fall dinner special.
Service was phenomenal. Timing of courses was perfect. Lots of little extras. And everyone really enjoyed their meal. The staff were very attentive. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. The wine selection was fabulous but very pricey.
All in all, it was much more than dinner out, it was a memorable occasion!
I have eaten at some very fine restaurants throughout the world. Eden was hands down the best of the best. The service, the food, the wine pairings, the intimate atmosphere and lovely view, the presentation of each course - at every step of the evening, we were impressed and delightfully surprised. This was truly a dining experience; not just a meal. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed a special celebration of my daughter's 18th birthday and the staff absolutely went out of their way to make her feel special and grown up. We ordered the tasting menus with wine pairings, which I highly recommend. The wait staff will gladly substitute items within the menu if there are a couple not to your liking. Plan on being there for an evening - this experience is not one to rush. Savor every bite, sip, and view - as it will all undoubtedly become a part of the canvas of a very special and long-lasting memory.
We did the Chef's Tasting. The food was good, although it seemed like there were too many dishes prepared sous vide. None of the dishes really blew us away - all were were just adequate. I expected better for the price.
Great service, attention, presentation. The tastes were amazing and the wine pairing perfect!
It was everything that we expected and more. The dishes included in the tasting menu were innovative and delicious. The wine pairings were spot on. A lovely place to spend 3 1/2 hours, a hedonists dream
Awesome! We will be back!!
Delighted- at first a bit skeptical but left as one of Eden’s biggest fan. Will be back.
Great location. Awesome view. Servers were great. They feed off of your own vibe, so ours were friendly and care free. The Eden pairing was the best, as it allowed us to try new wines that we've never tried before
My wife and I are not used to high class dining but wanted to try it once in a life time.
We appreciated the staff attention and banter.
The food was very rich as expected and along with the wine caused my wife concern the next day, but it was an enjoyable experience.
Amazing experience. Just remember, 10 courses are pretty tiny yet it was worth the experience.
The tasting menu food presentation was unique and well paced. Some of the dish flavour combinations were very good & others there a ‘swing & a miss’. The wine pairing was good - well varied in locations, types & vintages. Good place for a special occasion or to just try something different in a tourist town.
Delicious food, great ambiance. Perfect to celebrate any special occasion! Very careful to accommodate allergies / food sensitivities.
We be been there for 3 times all total we absolutely love this restaurant. Defenitly worse for money.
thanks very much for an amazing experience you always give us!
Amazing views .... service attentive from the time you walk into the resturant. Menu is prefixe wirh many choices to mix and match from various menus Vegetarian menu ... a must stop for foodies. This is a high end experience....$$
Exceptional. Very good food and services. Great experience for the first time. Make me feel really special. Thank you
If you want a fantastic meal, great service and an outstanding view; Eden is for you. Have fun with the staff. Enjoy the view. It’s not cheap. But you get what you pay for. Try the veal cheek! Oh yeah. ....🐼😎
An amazing meal. We did the 10 course chef tasting option with the eden wine pairing. The bill was a little steep ($1,000) but we knew that going in and it was for our 10th wedding anniversary. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Superb chefs menu. Staff were all very personable and attentive. The location affords views of the banff valley and mountains.
It was outstanding great views great food well worth it the tasting menu is out of this world it was so good we went back twice in one week tasting menu one night don’t miss it and the regular menu another night it’s beyond any experience you’ll ever have dining I rate this a six star Experience
We had the 4-course with Eden pairings. Each dish's presentation was imaginative and colorful (the Arctic Char salad with the crisped skin rising like a sail from the plate was a hit). The service is prompt and attentive. For wine pairings, the sommelier was more focused on showing us what he knew than in listening to some of our feedback. All in all, experience held amuse bouche surprises and was just lovely. One note on the Beef Duo main- its portions really should be larger-- the two pieces of beef for my wife were smaller in tandem than my elk main.
We’ve eaten in so many restaurants all over the world and the experience in Eden was one of the most unforgettable one. The food was exquisite, the hospitality is excellent. We were celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary and a baby on the way and every server was mindful of my prenatal restrictions. They made every part of the experience comfortable for me, and even checked every menu item on what is safe for me. Our server was one of the reasons why we felt like VIPs. He def made the experience special. Our 4 course meal turned into more than what we expected, plus a little gift for us to go home with. We are def coming back one day!!!
Over the top amazing!! The food was out of this world, the wait staff was so friendly and they even had their driver take us back to our hotel. We had red carpet treatment! Recommend this restaurant 1000%
This restaurant was nothing short of incredible! Had an unforgettable experience on my honeymoon here that my husband and I went back for dinner a second night. Hands down the best restaurant I’ve ate at. The food and service was excellent.
Stellar sommelier and delicious food with a stunning view.
Amazing experience. Our second time dinning at Eden and it won’t be any our last. Service, food and wine were all second to none.
Our experience was great. Our service team was beyond amazing and hilarious. They really interacted with us and told us stories and we’re just so friendly. We did the tasting menu (7 plates and Eden pairings) food was pretty good. I think I expected a little more considering the reputation but was still great and tasty. The sommeliers were fantastic and the wine choices were great! Thanks for an awesome experience!!
Exceptional service and food. Wonderful food combinations. The best in dinner experience in Banff.
Wine pairing was totally worth it!
Staff amazing, Thank you Gustavo! What a relaxing and delicious dinner.
We had the 3 course classic pairing, the scallops and foie gras I would not recommend but the 100 day aged strip loin was incredible and the cheese paired with honey mead was to die for
The Sommelier was very knowledgeable and every pairing took each course to another level.
This was the most expensive meal I will probably ever have, however the food/pairings, view of the Rocky Mountains, as well as the knowledge and service of the wait staff was well worth it.
The presentation of the food and the service was great but the flavour and texture was lacking.
From the moment mybdate and I walked in there were about 10 service mistakes. Not being greeted at the loung, 20mins to get 2 beers, absent service, and we were not brought to our table for our 6pm seating.
As soon as we went into eden things got better and better.
Still some issues on service with plate drops and clearing. It was my understanding that staff were training but it took away from the experience. Id suggest dry more dry training when the restaurant is closed. Friday night may not be the best time.
Other than that it was a beautiful and intriguing menu with delicious wine pairings.
Your sommelier was wonderful and made up for every mistake promptly.
Thank you, I'll be back :)
If you want fine dining at its finest, this is the place for you. It is "event" dining; you shouldn't just drop in here because you are hungry and want a bite to eat. You should come for the experience. We had the tasting menu and wine pairings, which came complete with amuse bouches, palate cleansers and the like. The sommelier did an excellent job of pairing a number of difficult, complex courses with unexpected wines that worked beautifully. (For example, how often do you find a delicious dessert whose main theme is umami rather than sweetness?) The staff was attentive and the service well done throughout; they were able to answer all of our questions and were all fonts of information. This is a great place for high-end foodies, or if you want a memorable meal to mark an occasion such as a proposal or wedding anniversary. It is expensive, but you are definitely getting what you paid for.
I had been looking forward to this night for a long time, and was so very disappointed.
Service was very poor and disrespectful. When we arrived, the maître de commented that “with [my fiancé’s] heels and dress”, he knew we were headed to the Eden Room. That is so wildly inappropriate in our current environment.
Service inside was also poor. It was as if the sky resort liftees were running the place.
Drinks were incredibly overpriced. The food was sometimes good, and sometimes terrible.
Overall, the most overpriced and underdelivered meal I’ve ever experienced.
This is our 4th visit and our ‘go to’ for special occasions. The menu has a few new items as well as carryovers from previous visits. The wine pairings as well as the service throughout were all exceptionally great. The sweet potato soup was fragrant and complex (also delicious) while the squab was surprisingly filling and well presented. Both mains were again marvellous in their execution (venison & veal cheeks). The desserts were some of the most innovative we’ve had in a long time. A most satisfying special occasion
Eden dining was an exquisite dining experience with fabulous service and food of the highest quality. Situated high above Banff, it is undoubtedly the best fine dining in the town. I highly recommend Eden To all.
