We so enjoyed our first visit to Eden Garden! The servers were so friendly and helpful with food suggestions. Loved the Halloum appetizer, and the Kefta Kabob was super tasty. Everything our party had was deliciously prepared and presented. The Arabic tea with mint leaves was a great addition to the meal. Will definitely be back for more!
The food was no better than average and the hookah activity in the next section really turned us off. It's a lovely setting for a restaurant but drafty and on the cold side. We will not be returning.
First time and I loved it can’t wait to go back !!!
We went for Valentine's Day dinner before an 8:00 pm show. Service was a little less attentive than I expected, since we were there early in the evening and the place had only a few table occupied.
Servings were quite large and of acceptable quality...not great...but very good.
It was Valentines Day, and we were so excited about trying this place out for a special evening.
We carefully reviewed the menu online and were thrilled that there were so many vegan options, as you'd expect from a place specializing in Mediterranean Cuisine... baba ganoush, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, eggplant... Yum!
But not on this night. (A vegan diet is not a fad for us; it's kind of a medical necessity.)
When I spoke to the restaurant confirming our reservation they assured me that, even though there would be a limited prix fix menu that evening, the chef was preparing an exciting vegan alternative selection.
Turns out that would be a pretty sad plate of fettuccine -- lacking any of the character or flavor this place and its cuisine promised. Even the waitress seemed a bit confused, and slightly inattentive; actually serving un-ordered ice cream desserts after a pleasant but direct conversation that vegan meant not eating dairy as well as meat.
I don't blame a restaurant for changing its menu on special occasions... but I don't appreciate being lured into an expensive evening on the false representations of the restaurant, compounded by the mis-understandings of the wait staff.
I'm sure that on other nights the food would be perfect (or at least as advertised) but with so many restaurant options in Pasadena, why would anyone take a chance here spending lots of money??
Yeah, the salad, pita and pasta for two came to over $100...
so they added an automatic tip for themselves of 17%.
Nice.
Oh, they also allowed the table right next to us to enjoy a hookah throughout the meal
in the enclosed dining area which is, of course, against California law.
They must have an “in” with City Hall, around the corner.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Waiter was very attentive and nice. Food was great for its value and the portions were fulfilling!
They are very attentive and good customer service.
As always, this is the place we go when we want to spend good company and long hours past 10pm. Amazing music and food, no hidden extra charges. Super friendly waiting crew, very friendly owner who cares about his customers.
Delicious middle-eastern and mediterranean combination works so well for this place and if you love hookah then you can't stay away.
Love the food. On Friday and Saturday they have a prefixed menu and belly dancing later in the evening. A lot of food. Go hungry
Eden Garden is amazing for family and friends get together. You have great menu with very reasonable pricing, great selection of drinks, and live music. You can relax and have fun with friends till late late night (which isn't common thing especially in Pasadena).
My experience at Eden Garden was really disappointing. The restaurant was empty, which was our first sign of trouble, and we ordered the vegetarian falafel plate which seemed safe. The falafel was decent, but the hummus, moutabal, and dolmeh were all clearly from a can. The pita bread was store bought. It was really a let down.
The confluence of flavors was absolutely wonderful. FRESH ingredients were evident. We had a mixture of vegetarians and meat eaters, we all shared plates, and there was enough variety to satisfy all very well. We really enjoyed our time together there.
This restaurant is a great find! The ambiance is wonderful and welcoming. The staff was warm and friendly -- it is a very welcoming atmosphere. The food matched all other aspects of the restaurant. The Pita was warm and fresh and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Overall this was a spectacular experience.
The service of the place is always makes us to come back. Of course it is a smokers paradise too, hookah! You must have the chicken kebab in this place to know how tasty chicken can be.
Staff is always the best part! Everybody is wonderful. Food is good, the ambiance is vibrant. One negative point: a bit too loud. I almost went to another restaurant, so loud it was. But I'm glad I stayed, it was fun.
Great value for good Meditteranean fare with beautiful ambience: highly recommend the quail appetizer and the mixed combo kebab plate
Wonderful experience as always
It was so great our waiter daniel was amazing! Food was fast! Drinks good too yes!!!
One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Wish I could rate the food but sadly we never got to that point. The restaurant was empty with about 4 tables seated. They seated us in a far back corner with a portable ac blowing wind and noise at our table.
Upon waiting 15 mins 3 waiters visited the table next to us, one of which spent about 5 mins flirting, discussing school, the heat wave and more. Not one single server stopped by to our table. No one offered us water. No one took drunk orders. Nothing. Not a single word to us. Despite passing us over 10 times.
Incredibly rude service from the start. Was it due to us being the only white family there? Not sure, but it was disrespectful.
My first time. The food was disappointing. The entertainment started late. When we asked that something be replaced because it was overcooked we were told we just did not know how it was supposed to be cooked. Very disappointing. But the place was cute.
I could eat here every day! We enjoyed the chicken kabob and Greek salad with grilled shrimp. Super nice folks who work here!
Our experience was poor due to the inattentive server, who knew that this restaurant has a policy of charging an 18% gratuity on all bills over $100. This is written in small print on every page of the menu, where it's likely to be overlooked. Among the things neglected were, not getting requested napkins, not getting all bar drinks ordered at the same time, needing assistance with uneven chairs, not getting the hookja requested, and then only one mouthpiece for a party of three, not having the TV channel changed (it was turned off instead), not getting refills on water when needed, needing to reorder drinks, getting boxes for leftovers, and the issue with the bill.
There were three large (15-20) parties seated and served while we dined. Chairs and tables are constantly being rearranged, which is disruptive and also detracts from service to diners. Understandably, they are concerned more with these large groups than with a party of two or three.
The food was enjoyable and not overpriced, in my opinion. Best to order to go unless you are in a large party, to avoid being generally ignored by the server.
Love this restaurant. Super nice folks and the food is amazing. Kabob plate, shrimp salad, veggie lunch plate. Can't beat the quality or price. The patio is beautiful.
Fabulous food with excellent portions. A beautiful outdoor patio. Excellent prices If I weren't on vacation, I would be a regular.
Rough beginning but manager fixed it and experience was great after.
Went Here for the first time on Mothers Day. Every dish was tasty and the service was excellent. will be back for sure!
My husband loved the lamb chop. I had the greek salad, cheese sticks, falafell & yogurt & cucumber. Very delish. We took home baklava.
What a great find for lunch! The ambiance is wonderful, as is the food. Can't wait to go there again.
We weren't on the patio, we were seated in the dining room. If you're not on the patio, be prepared to have a somewhat "cold" atmosphere. That was our impression. Plus - the DJ was WAY too loud and we didn't want to have to shout over bad dance music. With that said, the food was really good and it was fun to do family-style with generous portions.
Some time ago we stopped by for appies and a drink in the afternoon but totally misjudged what a good dinner spot this would be. What a find! Food was good value and authentic (4.5 stars). We will be back for the Friday/Saturday entertainment and hookah.
The service was excellent, but the food was a little subpar. Unfortunately the lamb was overcooked, but the hummus was good. However the pita bread was stale. The wine portion was very generous and the service exemplary.
Not great! Being very familiar with this cuisine we were were looking forward to it.......very disappointed!
Samosas tasted as though they were reheated from frozen! Dry pita bread served... nothing to dip it in! Lamb ok All dishes were mild to tasteless. Restaurant appears to appeal to large groups rather then individual dining groups. It was a cold evening and seating was under a tent with no heating. Private parties were seated inside where it was warmer. No indication that we would be sitting basically outside. They appeared to be not interested in our business and thus we will not be returning.
Food is not the best but everything else makes up for it.
Eden is our go-to Mediterranean place in Old Towne because the atmosphere is great, the food is excellent and it has plenty of space for large groups. The kabobs are exceptional and the spicy hummus is a favorite.
From the beautiful patio to the fabulous fish and tender chicken: definitely recommend.
Should NOT have been open during their construction. LAMB SHANK tasteless , plate not heated, veggies cold, outside dining area wet from wash-down, cold inside! ONLY gd thing was MOSCOW MULE in copper mug!
My party of five dined here on a Friday night when the set menu was in effect. For $35 a person, we were served 11 appetitizers, a family style serving of three meats kabobs over rice with grilled veggies, and non-alcoholic drinks included. Suffice to say, this amount of food filled us up quite well. The appetizers almost spoiled our appetites, but the deliciousness of the main course was enough to make us eat even more. Around 10pm, the deejay got the party started and had most of the diners on their feet. This is a fun place on the weekends, highly recommended for those who like to eat well then work off some of their meal on the dance floor afterwards.
The waiter was very helpful when it came to menu recommendations.
It was too laud but it would be nice for group of people to celebrating.
Delicious lamb kebobs and fish. Service was friendly and attentive.
