Eddie V's - Tampa Ratings and Reviews
We had an excellent experience tonight as we celebrated our anniversary! The food and ambience was excellent. Our server, Sameera, was very professional in her craft, making our dining experience extra special, while the rose petals and anniversary wishes made the night truly memorable!
Let me just start by saying that I have worked my way through the service industry from bus boy on up to GM. Left the industry about 5 years ago in pursuit of something different. This was by far the greatest dining experience I have ever had. My grandmother and I indulged on the oysters, lobster bisque, and the chefs special NY strip. Our server Alejandro was by far the shining star of our meal. He was ever present without being overbearing. The food was impeccable. The bananas foster were out of this world. And brynn (so sorry if I butchered your name) was a gem. Can’t wait to come back. Cheers. Steven.
First time here for all 8 of us in my party. Overall good experience and waitstaff was topnotch, however their presentation of the meal (aka plating) was a major letdown and put the damper on what might have otherwise been an excellent experience. They slap down a plate in front of you with a slab of meat alone with nary the garnish to be seen. My plate with an 8oz filet and a lonely looking smallish lobster tail frankly looked depressing for all of $89.00. For the prices I expected to be wowed by everything like we are at Berns each and every time.
Bring your A game next time Eddie- this was not it.
Food was fresh and delicious. We had raw oysters, Calamari, Steaks, lobster, shrimp, crab rice, brussel sprouts, truffle mac, some craft cocktails and chocolate cake a la mode. Loved our server, D.C. great food, great service, great ambiance. highly recommend but on the pricey side.
We appreciated the extra special details of rose petals on the table and an anniversary card when we arrived. Our waiter, Eddie, was very helpful, and even brought us a surprise anniversary dessert that we didn’t even know we wanted or needed... it was that good! My husband had one of the best steaks of his life. I had the halibut, which was cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back... we had a lovely evening there!
Very good food and service, however, not nearly as fancy as the white tablecloths and tuxedoed staff make it appear. Saw many diners in shorts and blue jeans.
Somewhat overpriced. Disappointed that not all oyster selections were available.
A crunchy, out of the oven, bread plate was a nice starter with cocktails.
The crab and corn chowder was very thick and creamy, but a little salty. The shrimp and crab chopped salad was excellent.
The 8oz filet was a fine cut with great flavor, according to my partner. And a shared side of sautéed spinach with garlic and Parmesan was a flavorful addition.
Overall, very nice restaurant, but I believe it to be a special occasion place. Easy $200 night.
There is no available parking, only valet.
We arrived at 7:20PM. We had a reservation at 7:30 and even though I saw empty tables., we were told that we were early and that there were no tables ready, and the hostess showed us to the bar. (I think this is intentional so you spend money at the bar-The drinks were very well prepared and spot on according to what I ordered. A little pricey) Finally at 8:00 PM, we were seated at a table.
The service was prompt, the food was excellent and very well prepared and presented. I had 6 Blue Point Oysters on the half shell ($3.00 each), and the grouper with a side of grilled asparagus (Ala Carte). My wife had the grilled / stuffed Gulf Shrimp and said they were excellent. For desert we shared Banana Fosters which was very good.
We left very full and satisfied with the meals we had and I was lighter in my wallet, but over all it was very good!
I’ve been to Eddie V‘s before and have loved it every time. This time we were sat in the side room, which was quiet and perfect for a date night. The main room tends to be a little noisier, although the atmosphere is more vibrant. Our server was attentive and polite and even offered some great suggestions — like the crab fried rice — WOW!
The sea bass was one of the best I've had. Tender fish quickly seared and presented in an amazing broth. Calamari was good but a bit chewy and didn't care for all the noodles. The crab fried rice is very tasty, and different, a must try. Restaurant presents a comfortable environment but is quite noisy. Service is impeccable and very friendly staff. Appreciated the birthday ice cream on the house!
