Good food but not stellar given the price.
Excellent waiter who had to deal with slow bar service - WAAAY too long of a wait for drinks.
Kitchen mistake delayed one person in our groups dinner.
A very eclectic restaurant with food stir the senses. The portions were a little disappointing for the savoring. The food got you salivating and... it is over.
We always love to come here. Amazing service, ambiance and the food and cocktails are amazing.
Great food & service. One of our favorite places to go to. Worth the price.
Great night of dining with Live Music atmosphere! Great Anniversary!
Great service but overpriced and food was a bit disappointing- steak undercooked and sea bass broth oversalted. Spinach side was commendable.
great food, great service, classic restaurant experience will be back soon.
We really enjoyed the entire experience! The staff were phenomenal and the food was excellent !
Amazing food! Cooked to perfection. The drinks were spot on. Table service was impeccable. Ambience was excellent!
We had an awesome celebrating our anniversary!
Astounding service and great food!
Great restaurant and food. I will definitely be back.
Rick was amazing! He took his time to tell us about the menu and wasn’t rushing us at all. Great experience and I’ll be back
Loved it! Excellent as always!
I've eaten at the Eddie V's in La Jolla many times and this was the first time for me in Tampa. The food and service are always good, although La Jolla comes across as much more polished and professional. Valet never made eye contact and just waited for us to go through the motions before whisking the car away. The service was very hit and miss: it was either crickets or three at a time! That being said, our waiter was friendly and personable for the most part. He had quite the sense of humor! My particular restaurant pet peeve is dirty plates and glasses not being picked up and this was inconsistent.
I would recommend Eddie V's because I know what they're capable of and maybe tonight was just a little off. A person (or four) can't go wrong with the Big Eddie!!
Yes but. I often tell friends that it's expensive, but they never miss. This time, there were whiffle balls out the wazoo! For the Mother's Day brunch, the first item is hot cinnamon rolls. The waiter or his helper forgot to bring them, then not once but TWICE they tried to bring the first course without them. When they showed up, the waiter said "hot from the oven." But, they were not. My husband loves these and when we do brunch there, he eats them both. Not this time. First course came and my husband's crab in avocado wasn't hot. Mine was fine (lox). Second course, his quiche was hot, my omelet was room temperature, though the flavor was, as always, outstanding. Because of the delay in the kitchen, the waiter brought an arugula salad. It was very good. Finally, the desert. The waiter brought out two bananas foster, when I had ordered berries and creme. It was very busy and very loud in the back room. I asked if there was new help in the kitchen, the waiter shrugged. We've been for special occasions, for New Year's Eve, in the bar for their "sliders" and for several brunches. They never miss, until they did. Even so, this remains one of my favorite restaurants.
One of the best dining experiences that that my wife and I have had in Tampa in a very long time.
Let me start by saying the service was over the top! The food was really good, and the atmosphere was really great. The table was set for my fiance's birthday, because in the reservation, I mentioned it was his birthday. At the end of our meal the waiter took our slip to the valet, so that we would not have to wait for the car long, it was just over the top. I will say I don't think the valet guys got the message because we still had to wait, but that was fine.
I did feel it was extremely loud but food and service was good. Drinks were very good!
My wife and I dined at EV’s the other night. We both ordered steaks; they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The au gratin potatoes were delicious as was the asparagus. We had intended to order the famous bananas foster to celebrate my wife’s birthday but ended up not celebrating because another party made us feel very uncomfortable by asking us to be moved from our booth so they could sit there. Our discomfort was exacerbated by the fact that this was the second time this had happened to us.
My wife and I dined at EV’s about 8 months ago, and during that visit, we were asked to move from the booth we had been sitting in (one of our favorites and one we'd been sitting in for 20-30 minutes) to a hightop because another couple (regulars) were very unhappy that they had not gotten their regular booth - so they asked that we move so they could take ours instead. We kept it classy and moved, thinking it was a larger party, but glanced over to see only two people, whom we recognized as regulars. We ended up finishing our appetizers and leaving early. (To clarify: the regulars did not get their regular booth but instead got the booth we had been sitting in!)
So for the other night, we made reservations 6 weeks in advance and asked for our favorite booth to celebrate my wife's birthday. (Thankfully, we got it -but the reason it took 6 weeks is that every time we asked for it, we were told the same couple I'm referencing herein had already reserved it). Yet 30 minutes in, we were again told that another party came in and saw us and wanted us to move so they could have our booth. Yes, there were only 2 of us and it is a larger booth - but we did have reservations 6 weeks in advance, and it was a special occasion. Ultimately, we did not move, but the very fact that we were subject to being moved (and made aware of the situation) - or that another party's request would either be entertained or denied - made us uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the evening fully.
The only thing that I would say that kinda spoiled our evening was that our to go dinner was poorly packaged in cheap brown paper bags. For a restaurant of this caliber I would recommend better to go packaging.
Upon arrival the greeting was personalized and much appreciated.
Always love this place. They always do a little something special to make every visit memorable and enjoyable.
Our waiter Jesus was AMAZING! He took great care of us and made us feel very special for our Anniversary. I couldn’t believe how much Eddie V’s does to celebrate a special occasion from the rose pedals on the table when we walked in with the Anniversary card, from the complimentary glasses of champagne for our Anniversary toast, and the dessert that was lit on fire. Absolutely amazing! The food was AMAZING! We will surely be back for every special occasion. Thank you Eddie V’s for making it so memorable.
This is my favorite restaurant in Tampa but Saturday night is not the best night to go. So noisy you have to yell to have a conversation
Excellent restaurant. The vibe was alive but not loud. Service was top notch, as was every aspect of the experience.
The service that Maggie provided was superb............ and the food was five star, although my wife's filet was overcooked. The noise level on a scale from 1-10 was a disappointing 8.
Love the band Off the Cuff and of course, the lead singer Kirsten!!
For a moment I thought It was going to be a long night of slow service and agitation. My thoughts were soon laid to rest,as Jon Holmes, our waiter, gave us a dining experience that beyond exceptional. It was like we were his only table. He was there at every turn.
We followed his recommendations for the entire meal, and was it was perfect!!He recommended a cocktail that I don’t remember the name of, but it was martini that contained an infusion of cucumber and a hue of jalapeño. Excellent! We started with the seafood tower, and what a great choice. The lobster claws were large, fresh and delicious. The shrimp were large and the oysters were amazing.
That was followed by the South African lobster pot.The sauce that it was submerged in was a delight. A garlic sauce that had just right balance. It didn’t mask the taste of the lobster, it enhanced it.
The bowl accompanied by a side that john explained, that everyone should experience before they leave this earth. It was the crab fried rice with mushrooms and scallions. Let me tell you, seldom have I been overwhelmed by a dish so delicious. I could have come and just had that, and would have been completely satisfied. Jon recommended desert, but I was so full, I declined. To my surprise, Jon brought us the desert anyway. He said no meal should be brought to a conclusion at Eddie V’s, without having tried some desert. It was a plate with bananas foster flambé, that he poured at our table. Very dramatic. Hot chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The desert was complementary to my surprise. He really showed an appreciation to us and his job that I haven’t seen. Like the meal, he had that right balance. He was engaging, but not overwhelming. Knows the menu, and was spot on with his recommendations. What was to me going over the top was, as I was finishing my coffee, Jon asked for my valet ticket. As we exited the restaurant, my car was there was truly a 5 star experience. Bravo, Jon!
Our table ordered several dishes: shrimp cocktail, steak tartare, filet mignon, scallops, and more. Everything was delicious.
Best Birthday ever with the best food, service and drinks. Thanks Eddie V’s.
It was a very nice place to take my friends and family for a celebration dinner. The ambiance was a bit dark but overall was a great experience. The pianist was excellent and having valet parking was ideal for me.
Food and service was outstanding.
We had a great time . the service was outstanding and the Foot was Great. Recommend this Restaurant to anyone.
Sea Bass was cooked great. Halibut not so much. Brought it out twice over cooked, hard and dried out. 3rd time mushy like jello. Manager said they would take it off the check. I paid check, my fault for not reviewing it. Next day I looked at check and halibut charge was still on it. Guess if you go there, try the sea bass. Everything else was ok.
Food is always amazing here. Greg was our server and went above and beyond. Will certainly be back again!
A great way to celebrate a birthday. As good as always.
Eddie V's is one of those places that feels great the minute you walk in. The atmosphere has a great vibe and the furnishings luxe. The stars are definitely the food and the service- wonderful! The menu offers many choices for any palate and the kitchen is meticulous in ensuring any dietary request is honored. The waitstaff is well-trained, knowledgeable and delightful. Although pricey, this restaurant is worth every penny!!
Always a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Food was great . Service was awesome. Can’t wait to go back
