Everything was delish...as usual.
Stephen is great. Don’t lose this server. Friendly and very accommodating. We’ll return!
Lucy is the best!!!
Although pricey, the food at Eddie V’s never disappoints! Our server, Kristine, made excellent drink and food recommendations. She timed our courses for a very enjoyable meal. The bananas foster dessert was a festive and delicious presentation that was much enjoyed by our sons who were celebrating their birthdays. We will return!
Food is great: service very good; pricing a bit high .
My husband and I went to Eddie Vs for our Anniversary.
The evening was fabulous.
Started off with Lobster tacos and the Crab cake both were divine, the tacos had large pieces of lobster and the cilantro set it off splendidly. The crab was all meat, no fillers and was seasoned to perfection.
Lobster bisque and Heirloom tomatoes with buratta The bisque was silky smooth and the heirloom tomatoes had a wonderful flavor with accentuated the burrata and balsalmic.
Mains were the Sea bass Oscar and the sea scallops prepared with citrus and brown butter. Both were mouth watering delights. The Sea scallops were beautifully cooked, seared on the outside, yet succulent on the inside.
what can I say, Bananas foster cake and Godiva Chocolate cake.
Service was impeccable, Joel was great and Thanks to Bryn for making the evening special
The food was wonderful, great oysters, fresh fish (butterfish special and swordfish), and perfectly crafted martini. Our server was attentive, offered accurate recommendations, and personable. Only criticism is that the noise level makes conversation difficult.
Great food, very nice service, but it was a bit too noisy.
Great experience all around
All food was perfectly prepared. Steaks were superbly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
One of the best steakhouse we have eaten.
When we arrived 10 minutes early the hostess told us to go to the bar even though there were a half dozen tables in what I learned later was the main dining area. "We're not ready for you." We had a drink at the bar and when we had not been seated we went up to the hostess and she said it would be soon. Then a young man came to get us and told us before we could be seated we had to settle up with the bar. He made one one attempt to get Rob to take our credit card but Rob was too busy showing other patrons pictures on his phone. Then he gave up and basically said when you settle up come back to his station. He was unwilling to help in any way.
Then we were seated in what is probably the dining area for people they perceive as losers. Kind of like that scene in Animal House where all the loser pledges are grouped together. For a point of reference my wife and I have dined in the last year in multi-star Michelin restaurants in London and Berlin.
The first thing you need to know about this restaurant is that is is a chain. So there is no variation from location to location in the menu. This was highlighted by the fact that they had no local seafood. The oysters on the half shell (good) were from the northeast and the west coast. How about some from the gulf coast? This being a seafood restaurant they had no seafood specials which I found strange. The one special was beef that was $109! Wait I thought they specialized in prime seafood???
The caesar salad was bland. The heirloom tomato salad should not have been on the menu since the tomatoes were not in season. It looked good but had no taste. (Kind of like this restaurant!) The salmon was overcooked even though I ordered it rare. The 1 brussel sprout on the plate had the consistency of an uncooked potato.
It appears that people did not seem to mind being overcharged for seafood not from the area. I at least hope they get American seafood.
Excellent service by Adam and Alejandro! Great work, Great food!
I go to the Tampa area twice a year to visit clients. I usually refer to Tripadvisor for good recommendations. The food was good, ambience very good but I clearly felt like a non-regular. Of course, I'm not a regular but I was paying the same price as the regulars. I usually expect the kind of service and attention that I would give a client. And, when I'm at an "upper echelon" restaurant as Eddie V's purports to be, I expect, and actually demand, the service that I'm
"paying up " for. The bartenders at Eddie V's were good, not great. I would not be inclined to rush back based on their attention. I was seated at the bar and felt like I had to send up a flare to get their attention and interrupt their bar set up( I "love" that). Also, college basketball conference championships were on TV and I asked to see a particular game. Steven was nice enough to get the game on, didn't know how to but he asked another Steven who did. I appreciated that but then another bartender changed the channel to golf with less than 2 mins in the game . I'm not a violent man but if I were a little less cultured and a bit younger, I might have felt inclined to give the big oaf, not Steven, a nice back hander, since I was particularly interested in the point spread. I did tell him I was watching a BB game and he changed the channel, no apology, no oops, zotch. I'm in a consultative service business to a very select group of clients. They have high expectations that are justified. I treat them all like family, with loyalty, respect and appropriate deference. If you don't possess the people skills, or common sense, maybe the service industry is just not for you, whatever service industry that might be.
South African lobster was the best I’ve ever had. Great food, great atmosphere
They made celebrating my friend's birthday so special! The food was amazing as always.
Great food and service! Definitely will return for more date nights with hubby.
How this place rates so high is beyond me. Can't get a seat at the bar, loud, loud ,loud in the dining area. Food ok nothing special for the $$ spent. Wasnt horrible, but for the money there are better choices in Tampa. Would not go back...
Food and service were outstanding. Nathan did a top job of taking care of us
A very enjoyable experience. Excellent service and quality of food. Plenty of choices for seafood and steaks and a few veggie options. Great oyster selection!
Ambience is cool, with an open kitchen and spacious dining area. Highly recommend
It was awesome! We enjoyed our food, our server and live jazz!
Eddie V’s is awesome! Never disappoints! The lobster tacos are the best!
Great service and food. Perfect place to celebrate my wife's birthday
Excellent service, timeliness of food, quality of service, quality of ingredients, appetizers, main, wine...all good.
Great filets and tomahawk. I also highly recommend the crab fried rice, fried calamari, Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes.
We went there for my Husbands birthday and enjoyed every minute from the decorations on the table to our wonderful server and dinner.
Outstanding in every respect. Food, service all tops. The atomic horseradish cocktail sauce is not to be missed. Biggest shrimp I've ever had; best scallops too.
Overall, the food was excellent. Our waiter recommended a good wine to accompany our meals. His dinner suggestions for the four of us were also spot-on. The only disappointment was the "bananas foster dessert." The way it was described was not quite what we got. And, the presentation was very lacking, compared to other restaurant experiences. To be fair, when we commented on it, it was removed from the bill.
So, to sum it up: we will make a return visit (we will just order something else for dessert).
We had a great time and we were very impressed with our server, Nathan. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave us impeccable service. The food was just perfect!!
Birthday celebration all was going well then a problem developed & was dealt with properly. The Waiter & Manager apologized & comp the meal & supplied a free desert. The Waiter was great & personal which added to the dining experience,
There's no doubt that my wife and I are huge fans of Eddie V's; they consistently offer impeccable service, delicious food, and one of the best dining atmospheres in Tampa. Thus it was an easy decision to choose EV to celebrate our friends' birthdays. First, EV is great with communication; we made the reservation 2 weeks ahead of time, asking for a specific table so we could all enjoy Off the Cuff - the tremendous Friday night house band. EV's honored that request and treated our friends very well. Off the Cuff even sang (their version) Happy Birthday and a song of their request. Robert made us a custom drink, too! Apps were perfect: our friends were blown away by the freshness of the oysters and yellowtail sashimi. They both said that their entrees (seared ahi and scallops) were the best they have ever had. Of course, our entrees were perfect and delicious, as well. We shared the not-to-be-missed Bananas Foster cake. All in all, it was the perfect evening. GM Steve Hickey stopped by to say hello - which made our friends feel even more welcome and special. Also - our server, Brittany, took exceptional care of us! Thanks, Eddie V's!
My wife and I had traveled to Tampa to watch our thoroughbred run at Tampa Bay Downs.
From Susan Green the sales manager to Brynn to Carrie our server you could not find
nicer more attentive people. It is very rare when you can have such an enjoyable evening as well as such high quality food and service. You can not do better than eddie V's Tampa.
you can bet we will be back whenever we are in Tampa!!
From the minute we pulled up to Eddie V’s Tampa, we could tell this was going to be a fun and hopefully delicious experience! The building has a wonderful old school, high end vibe!! Once we walked in we were treated like royalty!
Our table was in a fun area overlooking the kitchen and the beautiful dinning room! Andy was our waiter and he was well trained, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful! He was not pushy but could help a first timer make good combinations, especially since I have a gluten allergy!
The appetizers were not only beautiful but very tasty! The soups and salads were outstanding...salads were cold and not over dressed and soups a were a nice portion, hot and delicious!
The entrees were fantastic and even better than expected! Steaks cooked perfectly and the black cod was sublime! Even the sides were perfect: beets were very delicious and the potatoes went perfectly with my filet mignon!
We discovered that Eddie V’s is an exclusive chain and we are looking forward to trying other locations as we travel!
Nice. Great ambiance but problems with service and just good not great food.
We wanted a seafood restaurant while in Tampa on a "semi-vacation". Eddie V's was a treat- and fully enjoyed the food, service, & ambiance. You get what you pay for and this was a bit pricey- but well worthwhile!
We had a great dinner following our afternoon show at the Straz. Your team is great and looked after us. Thank you for making us feel special.
Horrible service. Several items were wrong and the 2 desserts ordered were served 20 mins apart from each other.
First knew Eddie V’s from Austin. Your wallet may be a bit lighter, but you will not be disappointed in the food or service.
Outstanding food and great service! Great for date night and special occasions.
