Eddie V's - Scottsdale Quarter Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I were married in "mid-life". We make up for all the anniversaries and special occasions that we missed by celebrating our anniversary every month, not just once a year. Eddie V's proved to be an excellent choice for our monthly anniversary. Our entrees were among the best scallops and swordfish we have ever had. Service was very good, prompt, but not oppresive. The ambiance is elegant. Our only complaint if very minor... we were seated relatively close to the bar, which exposed us to more noise than is acceptable for quiet conversation. We should have requested seating away from the bar area.
Filet was good, lobster was very good, sides were average, bananas foster was very good, chocolate cake was bitter with excessive cocoa. Food was same as most steak houses, swordfish was excellent, Oscar style had too much sauce made with excessive heavy cream. Bread was excellent. Best thing about Eddie V’s is the live lounge singer named Guy. He’s outstanding and sounds EXACTLY like Sinatra. He’s only there Sunday evenings.
A sImply delightful experience. Jillian is one of the best servers. But all staff at this restaurant are friendly and very well trained. Jillian was extraordinary. She is obviously very smart, fast, very friendly and engaged at making the experience exceptional.
We love the live music and always ask for a table in the lounge. Loved the one on one time with singer Dale Yeoman. She is spectacular.
Food was perfect. Happy hour prices, fresh seafood, my wife loves the lobster taco’s. I love the blueprint oysters. The NY strip was cooked perfectly. The roasted beets are a unique addition to the menu.
Overall a wonderful experience, one of the best restaurants in a very competitive market. Five Stars well deserved.
For a weekday where it is slower, service was overall horrible. I am not one to write a review but this experience was bad. Our server was kind and helpful most of the time but the helpers was not even there at all. We finished our appetizers and our plates was left there till our entrees come out. My water was left I filled for a long time and I had move it to the edge of the table for it to be seen but was never filled till someone started to do water filling rounds. My steak was very salty on the outside hence my need for more water. The sea bass was good. Our table was on the opposite corner of where the music was and it was still very loud to most places. I've been to many fine restaurants and this takes the cake for such horrible service for what I paid for.
Fantastic new years eve experience! Garret, our server, was exceptional and on top off each food item as well as wine. Great music (a classic Vegas-style crooner) and the place was hopping. Great vide and each of our food selections were tops. Highly recommended!
Food was excellent and service was matched. Loved the whole experience, and would go back. Prices were high, so won't go as much as we would like. The sea bass, asian style was Fabulous. When it first came to the table it looked weird because it was so white, but once I tasted it, it was great. Thought the ginger should have been cut up in smaller pieces, as ginger is such a strong taste. Bronzino was great, a little dry, but waiter suggested a sauce that made it perfect. Very good call with the waiter.
We had a terrific evening, seated in a booth in the bar area listening to great live jazz, and our meal was spectacular. We started by splitting the shrimp/crab cobb salad, which the kitchen was happy to do for us. We each had plenty of seafood and the extras: crumbles, candied pecans, and warm, chewy sourdough bread. Marvelous! We asked to substitute the light, delicate, blue cheese dressing for the vinegrette, which was excellent. We both enjoyed our entrees -- scallops and salmon-- and because it was a special occasion, we took the advice of our server, Julie, and ordered the banana flambe. It was the best dessert I've had in recent memory. I want to give a special thank-you to Julie, who made the entire night extra fun: she was light-hearted, gave us great guidance about our wine, was attentive throughout, and made sure that we lacked for nothing. Eddie V's crowd was appreciative of the jazz music; one or two couples were dancing; women and men were comfortable around the bar, and clearly everyone was having fun. We loved it!
I visited over the holiday with a group of family members for a holiday dinner. All was excellent with the exception of my lobster tail. It was extremely dry and difficult to chew. Disappointing since my entree was $80. The filet, however, melted in my mouth.
I'm not sure I'll order lobster again in the future.
This has become our go-to restaurant for big events because there's something here for all family members. Atmosphere is relaxed but still a bit formal, which is at it should be. It was nice to see other diners dressed well!
The dover sole was a standout - I'm jealous that my daughter chose it and also took the leftovers home and actually ate them. Steak tartar, crab cakes, steak and scallops were all excellent. My only criticism was that while some dishes came out hot, others were lukewarm.
They really had an off night when we were there. The sea bass was floating in soy sauce and was so salty as to ruin it.
Roisterers were not up to par. They were not as good as one would expect for the price. And the side dish of Brussels sprouts was overcooked soggy and tasteless.
My husband and I had the most amazing Birthday/Anniversary Dining experience while visiting in Scottsdale! Good drinks and oyster appetizer at the bar. Our reservation was right on time, even though there were many guests. Our server, Dano, was absolutely the best, most engaging and professional server we have had in a long time!! We would go back there for a meal just to receive the excellent service he provided. The meal was to die for!! My husband ordered the Scallops, beautiful, and I had the Bone-In Fillet which just melted in my mouth. Then, the grand finale was the Bananas Foster for desert. We shared it and it was fabulous! A most special evening for us both. Thanks, Dano!!
