Eddie V's - Scottsdale Quarter Ratings and Reviews
We ordered some good dishes and some disappointing dishes. Caesar salad disappointing as was the lobster taco (where is the lobster). The swordfish was excellent as was the delicious crab cake. Next time we will try the bar menus where there is a small savings on appetizers plus live music a noise.
We had so much fun here! The food was amazing! The atmosphere was amazing! We are so excited to find out there is one in chicago!!!!!!!! If you read a bad review on any site... Ignore it! Negative things find negative people! We had the best food, the best service, the best drinks, and the most fun!!!!!!! It is expensive, but for a good reason... It is seriously amazing!!!!!!!
The waiter was exceptional. He made the best recommendations. The food was terrific! We really enjoyed dining at Eddie V's. Would definitely go back if we are ever in Scottsdale again. We were on vacation and this restaurant was highly recommended. We made reservations there prior to leaving for our trip. Thank goodness we did. It was packed, and once you eat there, you will realize why it's so busy! GREAT find.
Wanted to try another really good restaurant for celebrating my birthday. Eddie V's did well in most areas. Our waiter was very
well versed in the food menu directing us to some marvelous food and was very attentive (almost to a point of too much).
I did have one issue that for me took the "special" out of the evening. Our table was far in the back in a lovely large booth; however
once I sat down I was looking straight into the TV in the lounge. I have no problem with the TV in the lounge but did not care to be
in a position that required it every time I raised my glance.
Other than that issue we were extremely happy with our evening. We will go again but will not go for a special evening.
So for my first time I would say that the food was very good. It is a little noisy in the restaurant but most steak places are noisy. We went for our anniversary and they bought us dessert which was a very nice touch. It was expensive but then steak restaurants are expensive. I will try them again. With Mastros, Mortons, Flemings and Eddie V's, there are many to choose from and they each offer something different.
(My boyfriend's fav restaurant) The ambience is pretty, the food's outstanding & usually the service is amazing.
Unfortunately, we had a bad server!! He wasn't friendly & when he learned werent drinking, I felt like he was mad at us!! Weird. After we ordered (him - lobster, me - filet) he was a little better. Maybe he was bummed when we didnt order drinks because he thought the bill would be low (it wasn't inexpensive, my boyfriend's entree was $75 alone & we order 2 apps & I had an entree as well).
That was the first time we had poor service. We've dined there 4 times in the last year and the other servers were phenomenal.
Yes, I would suggest this place... I just hope you don't have the same server. Sorry, I dont recall his name.
Eddie V's has outstanding food and service. We have dined at this location and his previous location and are never disappointed. I wish they would offer Happy Hour and Appetizers discounted in the summer months as they did when the restaurant was on Pima. We always enjoyed sitting in the bar eating and enjoying the music.
The girls and I meet once every 4 weeks to have dinner and drinks. We have eaten at Wildfish Grill, which is supposed to the be the sister restaurant to Eddie V's, but had never eaten at Eddie V's before. Our waiter was excellent and our service was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about our menu, offering us items or options that we were unaware of through Wildfish, even though the menu was very similar. The food was just as good as Wildfish, although we all felt the restaurant was a little dark, which would probably lend well to a more romantic situation, not a girls night out. Excellent food, excellent service, loved it all and will go back again.
We had heard about Eddie V's so we thought we would try it. Great atmosphere and the service as excellent. Unfortunately the food did not meet the test for us. There were three in our party. One had the filet which was good, one had the grouper which was bland and tasteless, and one had the sea bass and it too was very bland and had no real taste flavor or distinctive taste. The wedge and Caesar salad were good.
The food here was amazing! The lobster tacos, warm goat cheese salad and halibut were incredible. This was by far our best meal during our recent visit to Scottsdale. Our dining experience was terrific with two minor negatives: while our server was attentive, she was a bit blase when answering questions about the dishes and for some reason we were placed in a separate room off the main dining area that contained no other diners - seemed a bit strange. In any event, the food was incredible and we would definitely go back next time we are in Scottsdale.
Stylish, sophisticated. Great seafood (comparable to any that I've had on the East Coast). Seemed to be a lot of business people dining together in groups which added to the noise level, but the quality of the food and the service more than made up for that.
This was not our first trip to this restaurant for us. We opted to stay at bar. My friend ordered a bottle of wine. The bartender took the order for the wine. However we weren't sure what took so long as we were sitting right there, when she was filling orders for other patrons that came in after we arrived. It took an unusual amount of time to get us the bottle and serve it. The other person behind the bar was the one who ultimately brought it over. We ordered oysters and shrimp cocktail. The oysters were good, but the shrimp was 'mealy'. Not typical of one of this establishment, being one of the few good seafood restaurants in Scottsdale. Would go back, however insist on better service.
Probably one of the best restaurants in all of Scottsdale. The food is awesome and a great value compared to places like (overpriced) Ocean Club. I love this place. The bananas foster cake is to die for. The décor is gorgeous. I can't believe I waited so long to eat here. I will be back over and over again. The only thing I wasn't totally bowled over by were the side dishes. They were a bit weak and could use some work. Fried oysters were amazing.
We visited this restaurant several times. On Friday we had the oyster appetizer which was quite unique and well prepared and presented. each of us had the parmesan embedded sole which seemed to be a cross between baked and fried fish. Sole can be quite soft this preparation gave it some rigidity. We both enjoyed the dinner and will return when we are in Scottsdale again.
The four of us had the calamari ,corn chowder and lobster and steak tartare for appetizers . we knew we were off to a great start. Two of us had the swordfish which could not have been better. The other dishes, the sole and the scallops were outstanding as well. The fish were cooked perfectly. The crab fried rice and the spinach were our wonderful sides.
The desserts looked terrific but we were too full to try any. Next time and all of us agreed we can't wait to go back. Thanks Eddie V's.This is a place that aims to please in every way. The food is outstanding and Krissy provided excellent service.
When we visit Phoenix area, we expect to enjoy great dining. This visit to Eddie V's was just such a truly memorable experience.
The first impression is walking in and knowing the evening will be enjoyable. The hostesses are pleasant and eager to start things off right.
The service people are top-notch. Our server remembered: 4-cocktails; 4-appetizers; 2-second plates; 4-main courses; 3-side dishes; 2-desserts; and 2-coffees ... writing down nothing but getting everything right, done perfectly, and timed to absolute perfection.
If you want some unique menu, you may want to go elsewhere. But, for the best seafood and steaks, with delicious side dishes and desserts ... GO TO EDDIE V's. And walk it off in the shops.
Eddie Vs continues to be one of the best places in the valley for seafood. The crabcake appetizer is one of the best anywhere. The seafood is frsh, not over or undercooked and the sauces and toppings don't over power the seafood. We had swordfish, sole and red snapper (a daily special) and all were excellent.
WE LOVE TO ENTERTAIN OUT OF STATE GUESTS AT EDDIE V'S. THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD IS PERFECT - THE CHEF IS AMAZING - THE STAFF HAS THE RIGHT STUFF, CORDIAL - AND THE GUEST SETS THE TONE FOR THE SERVICE. WE ALWAYS REQUEST A QUIET TABLE SO THAT CONVERSATION IS EASY. WE LIKE THE ENERGY OF THE MUSIC BUT APPRECIATE THAT WE CAN STILL ENJOY THE COMPANIONSHIP AT OUR TABLE.
Food was good. Steaks are better than the seafood. Overpriced. This restaurant is good for special occasions, but too expensive for regular dining. Waitstaff was attentive and polite, but seemed a little amateurish compared to other places of the same price range. All in all a good experience and would recommend trying it out.
Nice location, nicely done interior and fantastic selections of fish, seafood, and steaks. Nice sized bar but fills up by 5:30 PM so get their early if you want a cocktail before dinner. They encourage eating dinner at the bar but that's a shame because they have plenty of high tops in the lounge, and the restaurant is georgeous. Priced right there is all the other high end steak/seafood restaurants like Mastro's, Dominicks, Capital Grille, Ocean Prime, etc.
We had an amazing experience. It started with the host staff they were prompt and friendly. Our server Darko had a great recommendation for our wine and entrees, he was very knowledgeable and attentive. Our food came out hot and delicious. Everybody was very nice even the manager stopped by to check on us. Overall we will be back and recommend Eddy Vs to all our friends!
