Started off with a Nice gratuity to the general manager but he never came by to check on us.
I’ve had better shrimp cocktails and steaks at their other location in Orlando.
Service was very good
Had the 12 Oz filet. Sort of charred on outside a little to much. Made it a little tough. Very disappointing!
I would only give the food a 7 on a 1 - 10.
Shrinks were small on the shrimp cocktail.
We had dinner at Eddie V’s to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our table was next to a window with a spectacular view! Our service was fantastic and the food was incredible! The calamari, crab fried rice, and potatoes au gratin were delicious. I had a lobster tail and my husband and sons each had a steak (ribeye, filet mignon, & New York). All of us were thrilled. After our meal our server brought us a flaming Bananas Foster for my husband’s birthday and it was amazing. We will definitely be back!!!
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday it was recommended to us for the amazing view of La Jolla, it did not disappoint as we had a window table at sunset. The food was excellent we had fish cakes, lobster bisque and tuna as starters, scallops, swordfish and salmon as mains (the children's pasta was plain with a little parmesan, a few vegetables or cherry tomatoes with it would have been nice). The staff were friendly and attentive. The only downsides were no vegetarian options and it was a little noisy.
Great to have a table side view of the water and cove. Not so great with boisterous loud groups nearby. With a ton of managers around and empty tables, they could have done a better job spacing apart tables.
Great view and ambiance. Too many manafers came by the table to ensure everything was ok. It was fine after the 1st 2 came by, but after the 4th person came by it was annoying.
Scallops were good and my ribeye was tasty, however not cooked to my order.
Location is excellent and nice with valet parking,$11.00. Restaurant is not to big or small. Our server, Max, really made the difference. The menu has lots of options. Everything we ordered was good. I had the African lobster my husband had the steak. The steak was good but not the best. The lobster was very good. The only thing we didn't like is that there is no dress code enforced. It's a nice location but the guest were coming in with board shorts and backward ball caps. Come on San Diego will a button down shirt and slacks kill you? It's seems that people just don't care to dress up for dinner anymore.
We had a wonderful time. Food and view was amazing. Our server Alex really made our time there so enjoyable.
We love Eddie V's. It never disappoints! The noise level was a little higher than usual, but it's summer and the place was packed. Don't miss the lobster tacos.
We absolutely loved our experience. It was our first time at the La Jolla restaurant and we’re overwhelmed by the fantastic service. Everyone anticipated our needs and we were very impressed.
Started out strong. Drinks came out right away. Waiter took order quickly. Apps came out pretty quickly. Then everything went downhill. My fish was cold when they brought it out. Took it back to the kitchen and rather than cook an entire new piece, set it under a heat lamp. Of course the host who brought the food back didn't bother telling me it was a scalding plate. Burned my hand. Evidently he was too busy to notice the fact I stated "Oww" and immediately reached for my cold glass of water. I would never go back for the food. The view is stunning. Worth sitting at the bar for a drink.
My wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary and it was fabulous! The staff was extremely friendly and courteous, the food was superb and the view of the cove spectacular. It was our first time dining there and won't be our last - highly recommended!
Excellent views and excellent service. My fish was over done, but Eddie V’s made it right by bringing out a new dish, comping the dish and giving me a free dessert. More than I expected and all done with professionalism and a smile. Thanks for another great dining experience!
Dinner was a mixed bag. Our entrees (3 fish dishes, 1 filet) were outstanding. The rest of the meal was not.
I've had their crabcake appetizer many times, but this time it was burned to a crisp on the outside, and dry inside. I should have sent it back. The au gratin potatoes were cremated as well, and these we did send back. The brussels sprouts, on the other hand were nearly raw and as hard as golf balls. They were inedible.
So while they got the most important part of the meal right, it was still a disappointment.
Our server, Lauren, was absolutely amazing! She made excellent food suggestions. For example, the bone in ribeye and seasoned spinach were a celebration of flavor. Additionally, we had the rich and delectable Banana Foster for dessert. We were seated on the terrace which boasted breathtaking views of the bay. I can’t thank Lauren enough for taking photographs of me and my family and for the best recommendations on places to go and things to do for San Diego pride weekend!! Eddie V’s is always our go to for a top notch dining experience. And with employees like a Lauren, our loyalty will remain with Eddie V’s.
Perfect it was a very beautiful view and great food.
Everything was perfect. Had a really great time!
We were there for our anniversary. We wanted to just have dessert and some wine. Our waitress was rude and made us feel rushed. We were there in December and it was amazing. Much different experience this time.
Well this was well reserved in advance, we didn't get the table requested and they were not sold out and had plenty tables open up a few minutes after we sat down they could have easily moved us... The service was very slow and un-attentive. We had to ask for water to be refilled, plates to be cleared, took so long to take orders. Ordered a $ glass of white wine and it was a very short pour and like warm. Server never checked back to check on drinks etc... 5 different times, food was brought to our table that belonged to other people... very annoying. Obviously the service team is having a hard time there. The food took forever, the seafood was over cooked and dry, nothing was a WOW or special except the lobster mashed potatoes. They did however acknowledge the birthday w/ a comp dessert. but that was not enough to make up for all the service failures. For over a $300.00 tab, I would expect much better service and food. Need to do some training there!
Fantasist food and service. Only bummer as the large party next to us that allowed their kids to run around the dining room, screaming during our entire meal. Manager really needs to control these situations as it was rude for the other diners to think that was OK.
The service was great! We enjoyed our anniversary dinner.
Great dinner and exceptional service with our waiter Tieg!
We were celebrating a special occasion with our daughter, we were warmly greeted upon arrival our server was very helpful and courteous throughout our entire visit. Our meals were well prepared and delicious, the restaurant staff did an excellent job ensuring that our needs were met and satisfied. We will return again and thank the staff for providing us with a memorable dining experience.
The food was absolutely perfect as well as the service. Well worth the price.
As always, Eddie V's was simply fantastic! We chose to spend our 4th of July at my favorite restaurant overlooking La Jolla Cove. We were graced with the service of Abby Geyer who only knows how to be perfect ...charming, witty and on top of every aspect of our meal. Food was great, as was the wine. We didn't see any fireworks but the meal and service were all the entertainment we needed. A delightful evening
We reserved a table for our anniversary dinner (July 4). Since LJ wasn't having fireworks this year, we booked for 6:30. We were seated at the upstairs patio which was nearly empty; many excellent tables along the east side were available. However, we were seated in the center of the room with the intermittent, direct sun on us. The prime tables remained empty for our entire meal. The menu selection was extensive. Service was so so. Food was reasonable tasty, but not as warm as I would expect, particularly given their prices. They are nearby and priced on par with George's and Donovan's. Eddie V's is definitely not in the same class.
As a vegan, I know it’s not easy to expect much from a steak house, but the miso marinated tofu dish is a nice surprise. However, as a repeat diner here, this dish is hit or miss, especially the quality: the most recent time, it tasted as if someone forgot to marinate the tofu and there was barely any rice accompanying it.
We always come to eddy v’s when we visit La Jolla. The food is high quality. Service is always great.
Mark was the best waiter I’ve ever had. This was a treat!
The host/hostess experience left something to be desired. They tried to seat us at 6-top with other couples despite knowing that it was my wife's birthday. The food was outstanding as was our waiter Tighe.
As an aside, I called when I had to change the reservation. I was placed on hold for over 15 minutes each time before hanging up. I did finally get through.
Great views for dinner! The restaurant lists that it has vegetarian options and it only has one dinner option (marinated tofu). I ended up having tomato salad and scalloped potatoes. The person with me had Parmesan crusted sol and said it was very good.
Very disappointed, steak had to go back twice. Meal was not at all enjoyable even though the manager didn't charge us for the steak. Would not go back
Amazing Service from the second we walked in!
Our Service was amazing from the time we stepped in the door. Our attentive waitress was amazing! We just wish we could remember her name to give her more kudos! Everything was over the top and made our anniversary very special. Down to the suited gentlemen that took our picture from Texas with family from NJ! We will be back the next time we are in La Jolla for sure!
Excellent service and delicious food. Ambiance not to be missed.
My husbands birthday! Such an excellent celebration!
What an outstanding restaurant. We were treated like a King and Queen. We had an awesome experience and definitely will return.
My family and I considered Eddie V's for a final splurge on our family vacation. We were slightly underdressed but were seated outside on the second floor patio. The views are breathtaking! Unfortunately, our table was next to a group of regulars. The staff seamed to be familiar with this group of gentlemen. They were excessively loud, crude and belligerent. In my opinion, over-served. Our experienced was spoiled because of their loud inappropriate language. I wish we were offered another table. This is a pricey establishment and unfortunately, we were disappointed with our experience. Our food was good, our waitress was dutiful, but there was nothing special about the establishment .
Great food overlooking La Jolla Cove. What could be wrong with that. RE
Eddie V’s is my new favorite restaurant 🤗
