Eddie V's - Fort Worth Ratings and Reviews
A good dining experience with delicious food and wine. A horrible introduction by the maitre d'.
We arrived 5 minutes before our special occasion reservation and was told we would be addressed closer to out seating time as we were early. After 20 minutes I had to approach her and request an update and we were seated a few minutes later. Not what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
We decided to eat at Eddie V's last-minute when our go-to steakhouse was booked. So glad we gave it a try! The food was flawless and the service was wonderful. Our only (minor) complaints are that we weren't seated until 35 minutes after our reservation time, and that it was uncomfortably hot in the dining room. We felt terrible for the wait staff - they must have been dying. We felt the need to rush our meal at the end because it was so hot. We'll definitely be back, dressed in lighter layers.
My wife and I have been to Eddie V’s on numerous occasions. I swear by their bone in ribeye. The steak beats any of the other steakhouses in Fort Worth. The service and food was excellent as always. This time we sat in the back room on a cold evening. This inside temp was about 55 degrees which made our dinner very uncomfortable. I would have like management to try and accompany us by offering to move us, or even just a small apology. I will be back, because I am not going to let this incident leave a bad taste in mouth. I would just like management to be aware of the issue and correct it for future guests.
We have eaten here several times. Food is always excellent. This time we were seated in the rear dining room on a very cold Saturday night. Apparently, the heating was not working in this area and the room was very cold. Several diners complained but there was no place to put them. Waiter informed us that the heating had been broken for several days. We should have been informed of heat issue upon arrival so that we could make the decision to stay or leave. Will not return.
We love Eddy V's and have always enjoyed dinner there. The food and the service and everything there is just nice and pleasant.
Except this time we got a table right where the vent blows onto our backs. It makes the dinner most uncomfortable. We mentioned that to the waitress and realized they noted that as an ongoing issue.
We end up catching a chill.
The couple at the next table had the vent air blowing into them so badly that they had a heater brought to them and the lady even had her jacket covering her lap while seated!!?
That said. We still will go to Eddy V's as always, for their good food. Just hope they get the vent issue fixed or ensure we don't get seated at that same table!!
If I had to be specific.....the lobster bisque was cold when it arrived. The bread was not good. I can get better bread at Panera. 24K cocktail needs work. Other than that everything was splendid. Steak
And lobster was cooked to perfection. Love the truffle Mac n cheese. Great service! Id recommend this restaurant to others .
Food is amazing it’s pricey so we can’t do it all is the time but worth once or twice a year. We had a very bad experience at another restaurant for our family Xmas dinner so this was a make up dinner I have only been once before, we weren’t disappointed . Side note I have diet limitations and our appetizer came out with sesame seeds, they were QUICK to redo and the manager came over (not necessary) but it’s a policy. Will make Eddie V’s our new annual Xmas dinner venue
Have been to Eddie V's a dozen time and this is the only time I was disappointed with my meal. I have had the Red Fish in the past and it was fantastic though this time it tasted like a poorly prepared chicken fried steak. We will be back but will never order the Red Fish again.
Food and drinks are consistently great as always. Cocktail waitress was good, considering how busy it was. Dining waiter would be better at Chili's or Red Robin. Menu knowledge was limited, attentiveness was poor, and he disappeared after we paid the check.
My wife and I arrived about five minutes before our reservation time and saw that others who had reserved seats before us, were speaking to the hostess sometimes more than once about having had to wait 30 minutes or more. This has happened to us before. We understand that sometimes people linger for awhile. While diners’ lack of courtesy toward patrons who come in after them (just sitting there as long as they feel like without regard to multiple parties who made reservations and expected to be seated on-time) isn’t exactly something to be fixed by the restaurant, a gentle nudge wouldn’t hurt, a hint to some diners who have lingered that maybe it’s time to let other customers enjoy dinner too. We felt the hostess had enough to deal with from other people who had been waiting longer, so we didn’t say anything. To her credit she handled it all very well. Of course, sending everyone to the lounge is fine, if the lounge wasn’t chock-full of people and all the tables and bar seats weren’t filled, which they were. It was over 30 minutes past our reserved time when we finally got seated, so it was nearly 9pm. In fact we got seated right before we were about to walk out and just hit Whataburger on the way home.
My wife had planned to speak to the manager after our meal. Our server was excellent and very friendly, but we were more concerned about the wait and the fact that no inconvenience had been acknowledged by the restaurant. We aren’t the kind of people who go out to places like Del Frisco’s, Capital Grille, and Eddie V’s very much—that’s why this was a big deal to us. This was a rare occasion.
Before we could ask to speak to anyone, our server offered dessert, and said it was on the house. That is how you acknowledge a problem and rectify it at the same time, and that is what we expect of all restaurants of this caliber who charge this much for a meal. Consider us satisfied.
Our reservation time was not met. We waited 1 hour. We were told they would comp our drinks, they didn’t. The food was outstanding. Our waiter was great when we finally got seated. They also ran out of the signature dessert The manager did come over and took care of our bill. So it ended up being a good evening and experience.
I have been here 2 times, my new wife's birthday, and our 1 year wedding anniversary.
it is the epitome of excellence. from the hostess to the final dessert.
It is undoubtedly the nicest dining establishment I have been to in the city.
I go as much as I can for my income availability.
It is not inexpensive, so don't think you and a plus one will leave there with out spending 150.00 including gratuities.
but worth every penny invested. the seafood is un paralleled.
the steaks melt in your mouth, and the dessert and drinks are to die for.
the staff are all very professional, and treat you as royalty.
you won't be disappointed.
What an awesome dining experience! The service was exceptional and the staff - no complaints at all. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. Our waitress Riley was attentitive and made some wonderful recommendations for dinner and dessert. I had the sole with spinach and au gratin potatoes. Absolutely delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Money well spent!
It was a last minute decision after a singing engagement. We were a party of 9 and the service we received was outstanding. The food was awesome and everyone, minus three of us had never been there before. They all had high remarks about the food. Thank you
Love Rachel the piano player hear she is going to be discontinued due to one patron that says she is too loud in the bar -music in the bar is going to be loud occasionally -if you r looking for quiet music then maybe a funeral would better fit for those who don’t like great music.
Very disappointed in Eddie Vs and Cley the GM for taking her out of the music rotation.
We were here this past sat , 6 pm .
Sat in bar at high top tables . Carlos was out server . It seemed he was spread to thin to give the excellent service we usually always have here. When check came saw he charged 10.00 for Cosmo . I asked about as I believed it was 7.00 like my husbands drink . We both asked for happy Hr as did our friend.
He said No ..... it was not on happy hr.
Rather than argue , thought I would check today. Could u let us know if it's changed off happy hr menu plz?
Thx much , Doug and Lucy Judson
We had swordfish steak and filet and lobster and a glass a wine. Banana Foster for dessert. All superb. White jacket wait staff and expert service professionals roaming ensuring top service. Table cloths everywhere. Big wine list. We felt special here. A great place for fine dining. We want to go back already.
