Eddie V's - Arboretum Ratings and Reviews
Sadly, Eddie V's has never been the once after Guy Villavaso and Larry Foles sold out to Corporate America's Darden Restaurants, Inc.
This is our third straight time that our dining experience has been subpar. Tuesday night was a special occasion (son's birthday and family Christmas celebration) and when you would have thought, on a weekday night, that Eddie V's would have plenty of qualified wait staff. This was not to be as the qualified wait staff told us they had been "slammed". This was somewhat puzzling because Eddie V's relies on reservations and the restaurant was not that crowded. The food was excellent (much better than our last dining experience). We were overcharged on two items. It is a shame that a fine restaurant like Eddie V's has gone downhill so quickly... so very sad.
We really enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal last yeay so choose to go back.
Was their at 5:30 so wasn’t overly busy yet service was slow and non responsive but he was friendly and engaging
Good size portions
Meal was decent this year but not hot....stuffing, potatoes, gravy and turkey were good but again not a hot temp
This isn't our first visit to Eddie V's at the Arboretum, but it was our first time for Thanksgiving dinner here and it was exceptional! The thanksgiving dinner was delicious and the service was fantastic, as usual. We always enjoy our dinners here, but now we have a reason to stop stressing about cooking big Thanksgiving meals at home and rather have a wonderful meal here and enjoy the view while we eat.
I've always loved Eddie V's for their superb seafood. This time we were there for Thanksgiving dinner and were very happy with the traditional Thanksgiving turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. We might make this a new tradition each year! The service was spectacular as always. Highly recommended!
I was very disappointed in my meal at Eddie V's.
As always the service was impeccable.
The first course (shrimp potstickers) was wonderful. However the second course (Lobster bisque) had little flavor. It was poured table side over an overdone small lobster claw and a toastette that was stale and chewy. I had shrimp with crab and the butter and spicy butter served over it was over powering and sour.
Very disappointed in the quality of the meal
An enjoyable first visit, during which we were served very good food. The complimentary Bananas Foster, the final act of many during the evening in recognition of my companion’s birthday, was an especially nice finishing touch touch. She enjoyed her salad and I enjoyed my lobster bisque. We both enjoyed our entrees (gulf shrimp with crabmeat for her, redfish meunière with crabmeat for me). But we both felt a bit rushed by the entrees and wished that the staff had taken more time to serve them. And the decaf coffee ordered to accompany the Bananas Foster never showed up (and fortunately wasn’t on the bill).
