Eddie V's - 5th Street Ratings and Reviews
It’s our 39th wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place for enjoying it. The Managing Partner of Eddie V’s , Ms. Alika O’Brien was just very thoughtful and giving. Bless her heart. The service from Waitress Jessica is just great. Food is very good and ambience is welcoming for the occasion. We left the place with joy and thankfulness. Well done and thank you.
The service was superb! We had a large group, and the staff was very attentive to all of our needs! Very impressed! The restaurant was packed with those celebrating the holidays, and the staff was on top of everything!
Thank you very much for a fantastic evening!
The food was absolutely amazing. They also took the time to set up rose petals and a signed card from the restaurant on our table as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Service was good, felt a little rushed through our meal, but other than that, everything was great!
Four of us dined for two hours enjoying the BLT salad, crab cakes, Red Fish with fresh crab meat and the molten lava chocolate soufflé.
The crab cake was packed with large lumps of fresh crab, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The BLT wedge salad was crispy and perfectly prepared.
The Red Fish was divine and a longtime favorite. Our server was outstanding and arrived at all the right moments. Her recommendation of Meomi wine was excellent. We will be back again very soon!
One of the best dry aged ribeyes I’ve ever had, and I sample them throughout the country. High-energy, convivial scene in bar area, which is where we like to eat, either at the high-tops or a booth. Nice, diverse wine list that you can have fun with if you choose. Engaged service.
My fiance and I celebrated our engagement there and the whole experience was perfect! They had a hand signed card from all the wait staff congratulating us with a beautiful table setting! they also brought out free dessert! Overall, it was the PERFECT way to sit, celebrate, indulge in some amazing food & soak in all the excitement of being newly engaged!
Superb food, excellent service. The lemon sole is fantastic & the rib eye was terrific. This restaurant does not disappoint. Although it is known for its seafood, the meat selections on the menu are excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for a variety of occasions.
Service was great, steaks not so much. Asked for steak au poivre, was served a steak without peppercorns. Other filet ordered we requested crab and béarnaise topping.
Steaks were delivered to table and then waitress realized steaks didn't have crab and béarnaise and cognac sauce was missing. Waitress left with food on tray and new waiter returned several minutes later.
Cognac sauce and béarnaise sauce were not good, cognac sauce had no flavor and béarnaise had too much lemon.
Brussel sprout side was room temperature at best, twice baked potato was warm and delicious.
We went on a Monday night and asked to sit in the Lounge. We made reservations far in advance. They have live jazz on Monday nights and a happy hour menu that is good all night on Monday's. The food is always excellent but the Happy Hour menu does not include many non-seafood options. This was a little bit of a problem for our friend who does not eat fish or seafood. I was hoping for a few more beef options. The crab cake is fabulous and of course, so is the Chilean Sea Bass and you can never go wrong with their steaks. Just know that the happy hour menu is mostly Oysters and a few other seafood options.
I made my reservation about three weeks ago to sit in the big room and again they tried to stick me next to the cabinet in the private room Servers come in that room and get plates and other stuff throughout the whole meal out of that cabinet
Move that friggin cabinet to the back of the restaurant and leave the patrons in peace
Thankfully we asked to move to the big room and did not have to put up with it for the 2nd year in a row
Eric was our server and was attentive, courteous and had a great sense of humor. He didn’t rush us at all and was very helpful with making recommendations.
This was our first visit to Austin and the trip was highlighted by our most positive dining experience at Eddie V’s.
Special shout out to Eric!
Wife’s xx birthday and her choice. We’ve tried many restaurants in Austin and we keep coming back to Eddie V’smiles away and know we can count on V’s. If we’re returning home early, their happy hour menu in the bar can make a great meal, too. We’ve even gotten to the point of asking for Aaron, an exceptionally professional yet congenial waiter.
The raw oysters were very good--a huge compliment coming from a Louisiana girl. Crab cake was sent back twice because it wasn't hot. Chili shrimp were remarkable and we ordered sides that were healthy.
Service started out good but there was a little too much hovering and attempted jokes.
Restaurant is huge and expensive
