We arrived 15 minutes early and they took us right back. We ordered the calamari it was delicious!! We split the BLT salad and it was just perfect. I had the Ahi Tuna and my hubby had Swordfish they were both awesome. To finish we split the Bananas Foster Butter Cake it was one of the best we have had. Our waiter Jeff was awesome. Next time we are in Austin we will be coming back!
Great food great wine great service
Long wait to be seated even though we had made a reservation & arrived on time. Nowhere to sit (or stand) small lobby was crammed full. Another customer waiting was getting a bit noisy about the wait. Not a good start. After this it was pretty good.
Excellent food and service. High markups on wine
Excellent restaurant, worth the money. Really good for special occasion.
Outstanding food in a modern high end American Fish and Steak Restaurant. The Louisiana Oysters we started with were amazing but the steak tartar with black truffle paired with the crab (as a single mixed starter) was out of this world. My wife and I then shared a fillet steak with Alaskan King Crab legs and a side of mac & cheese and brussel sprouts . Big portions and so sharing between two was a good idea. This was also really good. Prices on wine were reasonable, we had a bottle of Billecart Salmon Rose for $180 which is pretty good for restaurant pricing. Great service - would definitely go back
We were seated in a booth which was perfect for us. Two of us enjoyed the special Chilean Sea Bass. It was delicious, topped with crab meat. The steak and Sole were delicious too. Our waiter was a true professional. All courses were timed perfectly and we were treated to a delicious dessert of Banana Foster....not to be missed.
Overall a wonderful evening. A great way to begin our weekend in Austin.
Very pleasant dinner, excellent food, excellent service.
Meeting my classmate after 38 years!
Decent restaurant, nice ambiance, good service, needs more moderate priced wines.
Everything was good. Server was excellent.
We arrived 30 minutes ahead of time for our reservation which was confirmed the day before. We decided to have a drink in the bar which was very crowded. We ordered our drinks and stood while we drank them... we started to walk around to the front of the restaurant and a couple happened to be getting up and we started to sit down when the girl working the bar with a ponytail and red bead necklace said I'm sorry but I am saving those seats for this other couple that has been waiting a long time.....??? We felt this was not acceptable since the bar seating is open seating. We left the seats and went to the front to check on our table and was told that they were waiting for a booth that I requested. I told them that is fine we can wait for the booth. We finally were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time and did not get seated in a booth as requested. Our waiter was acceptable and the food was good but the experience in the bar and the fact that we did not get the table we requested (after arriving 30 minutes early and then being seated 30 minutes late) will make me think twice before I go here again.
I had steak (filet) and lobster with a crab cake appetizer. This was on the Sunday before Valentines' day so not too busy of a time. No one asks us how our food was ( I was waiting for them to do so so that I could tell them how dry my "Medium" steak was. Never did. So, that was the worst $80+ steak and lobster I ever had. Quite frankly, it wasn't even as good as the $30+ version that I got at Red Lobster a week later. Crab cake was DELICIOUS! Steak and Lobster was tough and sub par. Would not recommend.
We were celebrating my husbands birthday with family and friends. Everything was perfect from the setting, the food, drinks and especially the service. Jose was our server for the night and he was friendly and professional! The only thing I regret is not tipping him more than 20%. We'll make it up to him on our next visit!
We'll be back in the near future !😊
We had. 5.15 reservation . Had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. When we were seated we were seated with Molly as our server with five other parties next to each other at same time. Molly never came to our table . Had her assistant Eli take care of us, who was fabulous!!! The Eddiev at arboretum is fabulous this one is really really bad . Will never go back
We enjoyed outstanding service and food all the way around. Before we arrived, I received a call to ask about the birthday celebrations and what could be done to make our night memorable. The flower petals and complimentary desserts were a pleasant surprise. I definitely recommend Eddie V’s for any special occasion.
Very fine dinning at its best. Food was prepared perfectly and tasted absolutely wonderful. We are from Denver and it beat Capital Grill.
Luigi is an amazing host, server, etc for Eddie Vs! He makes the experience memorable each time.
Eddie V’s never disappoints. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary. There were congratulatory cards signed by the staff at our table. The service was excellent and the restaurant gave us complimentary desserts to celebrate!
Amazing server (Chase). Great food. Highly reccomend
Luigi was a great server and the food was excellent.
We love Eddie Vs! Especially in the lounge with the live music. The staff made our anniversary dinner very special.
Great as always! The original!
Has a great dinner at Eddie V's- The appetizer (calamari) was exquisite. Sea Bass succulent and our sides were great accompaniments to our meal. Great place. lovely atmosphere. Live music is a great touch.
Great food great service
It took 15 minutes to bring my Cabernet, then when they brought it they poured it into my wife's glass that still had Rose in it. Then it took another 10 minutes to bring another Cabernet and they didn't even offer to replace my wife's Rose. We ended up being charged for the Cabernet mistake and the mgr had to remove it from our bill. Then when our steaks came out they only brought one of our side dishes and did not bring the other until we were halfway done with our meal. Server did not offer to take our valet ticket to the front, we had wait and ask for water refills. We come here for every special occasion and this was not the service we normally receive. Maybe it's time to try another place for our anniversary
This was my first visit but will not be my last. I can't imagine another trip to Austin without a stop at Eddie V's. Our waiter had been an employee for 17 years.... so his recommendations were top-notch. I had the swordfish, but blackened and covered with avocado. My guest had what he called "the best steak of his entire life" - which was a NY Strip, I believe. We had crab fried rice as a side.... which could have been an entire meal and still garnered 5 stars!
Eddie Vs has such a warm, classy, & romantic ambience, especially in the lounge, where live jazz was playing at an appropriate sound level. The menu selection, the quality of food, the attentiveness of the staff, is all exceptional.
