Eddie Merlot's - Lincolnshire Ratings and Reviews
Completely overpriced and side dishes were over the top in size. Sometimes you just want a small salad or side dish of your own and not to share with entire table. Way too expensive for what you received. I also ordered 16oz ribeye and it was fatty - no bone and a horrible piece of meat. Never Never again and our whole entire table of guests felt it was overpriced and a ripoff.
The restaurant is located near my office, so I like to bring business associates there when I want to impress. The ambiance is very nice and the wait staff was very attentive. The food was presented at each person's desired temperature. Thanks for making my staff feel special. Will continue to frequent location.
My husband and I came to celebrate my birthday. We had a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. We started with a glass of wine (Kim Crawford Savignon Blanc and Cuttings Cabernet Sauvignon). I had had the Kim Crawford before, but my husband hadn't had the Cuttings before, and he REALLY enjoyed it. I ordered the Eddie Merlot salad, lobster tail, and roasted root vegetables and my husband enjoyed the barbecue shrimp, Wylarah MS9+ Filet Mignon, and humungous baked potato. For dessert we shared Bananas Foster. We had such an enjoyable evening, we are planning to return in the near future. Thanks for making my birthday memorable!
We are never disappointed here. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. Pablo is one of the best waiters we have experienced there and we will request him in the future! This is truly a special occasion restaurant due to being on the pricey side. The menu items "for two" are a good value because they come with two sides for sharing. The main dining room and the bar area can be very noisy. The room in the back on the far side of the bar is the best choice for a quieter dining experience.
Another wonderful evening at Eddie Merlots in Lincolnshire.
Tonight we had the New Orleans Mixed Grill* |
4 oz. Filet Mignon, blackened grilled shrimp, andouille sausage, roasted garlic mashed potatoes
My wife just kept ooooing and ahhhing while she ate it.
I had a couple of appetizers, the chicken meatballs and the Steak Diane in lieu of a full dinner.
Both were very tasty and really nice with the Atlas peak 2009 cabernet that our very professional waiter Antonio helped us pick out. As always the perfect Sommelier Frost was on hand to make sure our dining experience was perfect.
Second time to Eddie Merlot's and did not disappoint. Celebrating our son receiving an internship. Food was absolutely wonderful. Appetizers, entrees and dessert fabulous. Hubby and son had steaks and I had the one veal dish on the menu. without question one of the best, if not best, veal dish I have had - pounded thin with very light crispy breading in a light butter sauce. I advised that our son does not like to draw attention to himself so the waiter did a very nice quiet "congratulations" after taking our order and at the end of the meal bought out a huge chunk of their carrot cake. Let me tell you I am EXTREMELY picky about carrot cake and I found it to be just delish. I usually don't like nuts in carrot cake but these were chopped so thin that it worked, and it was very moist and just right amount of spice and frosting.
Eddie Merlot's delivers another spectacular dinner for our anniversary. Went with my wife and son. Everything was perfect, except maybe the dessert menu (needs some work). Special surprise was to be seated at bar in front of two person jazz ensemble. Guitar and vocals. They were excellent. Singers name was Petra, their first time at this location. Will definitely come back.
Everything about the meal was very good. I had the pork chops and my wife had veal. We did not have starters but we had the mushrooms and the root vegetables for sides. The food was well prepared and the service prompt, efficient and professional.
This is a large well appointed restaurant. Noise level was very good. It was very easy to have a conversation. That said, while there is nothing here that was wrong, there is also little here to inspire. What they do, they do well. But it is a very traditional dining spot. You will walk away knowing you had a good meal, but not a very original experience.
Prior to November 4, 2017, our most recent trip to Eddie Merlot's had been in May, 2017. We had not returned for awhile, because our visit in May, 2017 was mediocre; however, there has been a change in the menu, and there was a greater selection of steaks. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand, and it was outstanding.
The restaurant has several different dining options, such as in the bar, in a room behind the bar, and then a couple different dining rooms, all of which are nice, depending upon one's mood.
Our waitress was young and inexperienced, but very polite courteous.
We intend to return again soon.
It was my family's first time and probably last due to the slowness of service and lack of accuracy with our orders. When you are spending hundreds of dollars I think that the expectations are high. My order for example came without sides and the wine I ordered. Then it was hard to enjoy my steak as an incomplete meal, then 20 minutes later everything came out and the wine. By then the steak was cold and some other minor issues along the way. To their credit they did give us a free dessert, but having eaten at other high end steakhouses and how they handle it is different. Also it felt as though it was understaffed so to flag someone down was hard. It it a shame since the food I did eat was pretty good, but if the service isn't there then it doesn't matter.
we showed up EARLY, 6:15 because we wanted to have an easy fast dinner. We sat in the bar area as opposed to the formal dining area, so we would be able to get in and out.
It took 18 minutes to get a drink, then it was almost 50 minutes before we got appetizers!!! Remember there was just 2 of us, we weren't a large party.
The bill was over 220.00. Which generally is not an issue for a good steak house... but the service was BEYOND slow.....
I also got bumped in the arm by a giant black box that the musicians that night were rolling in past our table!!!! Never, should anyone get bumped in the arm by a giant black musicians box... but not when your paying for super slow service and paying over 220.00 for a meal.
Sorry Eddie Merlot... I won't recommend.
Really good food. Steak was great tasting and cooked exactly to specifications. Sides are fair and a little pricey, as well as family style only. Service was a little slow for a weeknight. It is worth trying and may be a preferred finer dining choice. However, I think just-as-good if not slightly better steaks can be found elsewhere for somewhat better pricing.
The cuisine was exceptional no question. Had the small filet and it was perfect!! More expensive but marginally compared to comparable steak houses. Waitress perfect however very poorly bused...made a little mess with my baked potato (which was served on a plate that was too small in my opinion) and after plates cleared had to deal cheese shreds and bacon bits the rest of the evening. Which at this level of dining shouldn’t be something I should be dealing with. Maybe I’m old school or ADHD whatever but it annoyed me.
I was somewhat disappointed in the atmosphere of the restaurant. The dining room was fairly empty for a Friday night (why is that!?) and the band that was playing in the bar was too loud in the dining room (and the music was very outdated and sounded like a wedding was going on). The food was good, but my order (triple filet mignon) came without the right sauces and had to go back. The service was great at the beginning but waned off and we had to hunt someone down for our check. It's not like the dining room was busy so I'm not sure why the attention level fell off. Overall I thought it was good food but overpriced. I will likely not go back.
Everything was amazing!!! The waitstaff was so attentive and I love the quality and quantity of food that they give. This is my absolute favorite place for steak ( along with everything else)! The steak along with all of their food is seasoned to perfection!! Pay them a visit, you will not be disappointed!!!
We were really looking forward to our evening trying a new place! Unfortunately there were several disappointments: 1) they were very attentive when the third member of our party was late arriving (asking repeatedly if she would be joining us despite the massive rain storms in the area), 2) after she arrived the service was unattentive, at best, 3) both of the filets ordered at the table were overcooked (well!)) though we'd ordered medium-rare and medium -- we decided not to send back (probably because no one came to ask us how everything was: isn't that a standard practice in fine dining or any sit down, for that matter?)....Again, we'd all been looking forward to trying this place out. Head to Ruths Chris if you want a good steakhouse. Won't be heading back.
Food was great - and the service even better! The valet offered me his arm as my husband was escorted inside, we were seated close to the entrance in order for my handicapped husband to have easy access, waitstaff immediately reset our table after we dumped an entire goblet of water - oh what a night!
