Eddie Merlot's - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
Thank you for making our 55th wedding anniversary so special. The food was spetacular, the service exceptional (everybody's wild about Harry), and the ambiance was delightful. I hope we don't have to wait another 55 years to visit you again. Oh, and thank you for the anniversary card.😄
The wait time for our food to come out was an hour. Way to long for 2 people. The restaurant was not busy at all. 7pm on a Wednesday night. The was a party of 20 in another room and that is what our server kept saying was the issue. My husbands ahi tuna was barely warm. The food is delicious but overpriced. The lighting is almost too dim. The menus are very difficult to read. Tiny, tiny, tiny print, hard for me to see and my eye's aren't bad. Not sure how the 50 plus crowd can even see it.
Went for our anniversary dinner. The staff was inviting and friendly from the time we entered the restaurant. The ambiance was nice the wait staff was helpful and friendly. We started with craft cocktails they were excellent. The food was excellent. My wife had the filet cooked perfectly and tender. I had the ribeye it was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The sides were excellent the creamed spinach was very good. We had chocolate cake for desert it was huge moist, and a chocolate lovers delight. The anniversary card signed by the staff was a pleasant surprise. Great experience.
If there is a better food quality and service combo than this place I believe it's located in heaven. Our service was the best I have ever experienced...not even a close second. I can't believe a dinner could make me feel any happier. This dinner price is not for the faint of heart at about 100 bucks a person without wine. But you can't get any better than this place.
We selected this for its decor and interesting descriptions of classic high end steak fare. There are multiple high end steakhouses in the area. We were very happy with the choice. The food was excellent but so was the ambiance and attentive and knowledgeable staff. It was also a pleasure to have enough quiet to converse and hear people at the same table which is not always true in a bustling place.
I was very sad that my anniversary dinner was ruined. I ordered blackend scallops but they were very under-cooked. When I sent them back for a little more cook time, I waited 15 mins and the waiter came back with totally burned scallops. So I had no dinner at all, because my husband had already finished his steak by then. So I told them just to forget the scallops altogether. We will never celebrate our anniversary there again! See pic of burned scallops!!!
The atmosphere and service was great! The food was very well prepared and amazing! We had a great time as we celebrated our 3rd year anniversary dining at this establishment. It was a great experience and will definitely be returning. We would recommend dining here to our family and friends.
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening and dinner out. Service by Kim was outstanding; food was delicious. Only negative was the sound level of the background music -- it was a bit too loud and interfered with normal- level conversation. Valet parking is also a plus.
My only problem was that my filet mignon was served and I was told to hurry and cut it and check it before it sits and then will cook on its on more . Never been told that but it did make sense . But it did end up a little too done . However , not told to cut In past and may not eat right away and still done perfectly . At some other resTaurants They cut it for you right away to check temp and make sure that you are happy . The lobster that was part of a Special did not taste that great . I just remember thinking , that's why it's a special .
We enjoyed the meal overall. My friends had fish which was good. My stead was tasty but for a supposedly "prime" piece of beef it was fairly tough and full of gristle. The win was excellent and recommended by the waiter. I could not tell if this was truly a NY strip steak, but i didn't want to get into a discussion since my friends had chosen the place. It didn't look like the ones i buy at the meat market and surely was not tender.
The waiter was god and kept us informed of progress as the kitchen was slow. I would return
The service and food was good. We had a great time at this location. I ordered the crab cakes, lobster mac and cheese and a cocktail. All of my selections were perfect and I would definitely try them again. Stephanie in the bar area was nice and accommodating.
It saddens me to know that Joseph is no longer with Eddie Merlot's and he will be missed.
Overall, we had a great experience
We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday, which turned out to be the theme of the evening since so many other patrons were doing the same. The ambiance is wonderful, however our evening was just so so. Our waiter was uninformed regarding some changes on the menu and it set the stage for a confusing evening. By the time things were straightened out, the lobster bisque which we served lukewarm was cold. Our meals were good but not better than some at comparable restaurants. The busser helped to save the evening.
Expected a lot more out the dining experience and was disappointed in every way that mattered - cocktails were fair - after 2 attempts to get them right; service was fair (55 min wait to receive our meal on an evening that wasn't crowded); food was fair - fish over cooked and steak under cooked; complimentary dessert (for 1) was good!
We selected the Steak au Poivre tableside dinner for two and it was excellent!! Alicia , our server, also suggested we try to new crab cake that will be added to the menu as an appetizer.... it too was excellent. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area and like to go there for special occasions....... We are Platinum Club members and are more than happy with the benefits we receive with the membership!.....
