Eddie Merlot's - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
Went to restaurant bar and ate the “bar menu” food; outstanding food with several new additions. Best addition was “Steak Diane” great tasting and very reasonably priced.
We go to this restaurant frequently and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal at a great price.
Food was great. New menu items limited to side items which is understandable given their focus. My loved sweet potato casserole was not evenly mashed and I found chunks. Little disappointed if this equates to eroded quality. Its the little things that matter. Service phenomenal as always.
While the food and wait service were very good, the table we were seated at was probably the worst in the restaurant. It was in the back corner by a drafty exit of a room that appeared to normally be used for private parties. Ambiance was not very good at all. Also, we had a 9 pm reservation and were seated at 9:10-9:15. Having to wait and then to be seated at this table was very disappointing.
Asparagus-undercooked and barely warm
Had to ask for napkins for table twice. Napkins!
Waiter saw a knife drop to floor when bringing drinks and didn’t offer a new one.
Waited for bread while other table by the door received a second loaf. And they were seated after us.
Other couple with us ordered an appetizer and never received it. Waiter never brought it or apologized.
I had a Diet Coke. It took 20 minutes to get a refill- and I had to motion to the waiter for it. When that one was gone, another refill was never brought. I chewed on ice for the last 75 minutes.
My Wife had to get the waiter’s attention for a second glass of wine. He past by the table 4 or 5 times and didn’t ask her if she wanted a second glass.
For the money, it was a horrible experience. I get better service and my food is better at Longhorns.
Used to dine here a decent amount. I’ll give you one more chance, but that’s it
Waiter was Adam. Please let him go so he may get on with his life’s work. This clearly is not it. His demeanor was goofy as well as somewhat aloof. He does NOT represent your brand well.
That much money for that is just unconscionable.
Our waiter was very attentive in the beginning but that did not last. By the end of the meal we felt as if he had checked out. We also were very cold throughout our entire meal. We told our waiter but nothing was done. Three of the five of us wore our coats the entire time. I feel like for the money we spent, it was not a good experience.
We were extremely lucky to get a great seat at a great time for New Year's Eve! Thank You! The food was good as always and the service was not rushed to even a bit slow at times. Perhaps this was because of the holiday. Usually the service is spot on perfect!
Came here w family for New Years dinner. Our party of 5 got seated in the dining room on the right which was lit up brighter than the main dining room so the ambiance was more of a banquet hall than of a nice cozy restaurant we typically want. Our table was between two tables which had loud folks. We asked if we can get a different quieter table and were told “no”. Our server told my mom she was deaf (it was a joke, but not a good one). I called him out on this. We moved to one side of table to be able to hear each other to discuss what to order. We remained seated in this formation the rest of the meal. Food was great! But I did not cared for food arriving not together and before our salad plates were removed. The servers to be stacking up plates in front of us as they were clearing the dishes especially not ok for a nice restaurant. But as I said food was great!
Early New Year's Eve dinner with new friends. Our first time at Eddie Merlot but friends had visited often. Food was delicious - Steak, Veal, Fish. Desserts over the top! Coffee excellent. Very busy evening (6:30 - 9:00) and waiter was spread thin taking care of tables arriving at different times. Kitchen mistakedly threw out half dinner of veal so replaced it for take home. Waiter did have several larger tables so we had plenty of time to talk and visit with friends while he was busy elsewhere. Did not feel rushed.
Will definitely return.
The hostess staff was overwhelmed with computer issues and our welcome showed poor customer service skills. Once we were seated, our wait staff, Michelle, was friendly and energetic and offer suggestions on wine and the menu. The food was excellent and arrived hot with the exception of our side which was room temp. This was rectified shortly before the end of the meal.
Overall we enjoyed our time at Eddie Merlots. Our initial waiter did not provide us with consistent service. Another waitress filled in for him. She provided better quality service and attention to our needs. The food was good but not extraordinary for the upscale prices.
Had dinner here about 14 months ago with our dinner group and it was great. Just had dinner here and was horrible. Service was average. I was traveling 2 months ago and went to a Texas Roadhouse. Steak there was better than the one at Eddie merlots at 1/3 the price. The steak and the "hot" dessert were both cold. Way overpriced. I will never go again. You'd be crazy to waste money here. If u want a same quality steak and save a ton go to Outback. You want a good steak for this money go to a Ruby's or Tony's. Dinner for 3 of us was $300 with tip. I would have come out ahead with chicken nuggets and someone stealing $200 from me. I felt like I was robbed at dinner here.
Avoid this restaurant at all costs. I, nor anyone I know, will not return here.
Our 48th anniversary began with a manager scolding our group for having a coupon that they did not honor any longer but that she would honor anyway. Why? Our steaks arrived at our table with our server no where to be seen. Somewhere after our meals had sat long enough to no longer be hot he arrived. The sides were horrible and seemed to be cooked earlier and were just reheated. The root vegetables were mushy and had no distinguishable tastes. Oh and if you’re going for a special occasion they will ask you and then never mention it again. Why? If you think they really care write your review to them. Good luck. Way to expensive to waste your money here with the many excellent steak restaurants we have in Cincinnati.
