Eddie Merlot's - Burr Ridge Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for several years now and they rarely disappoint. Service is always excellent. Water glasses kept filled. Wine replenished. No long waits between courses. Quick clean-up of used dishes and silver. Chefs are typically great at preparing steaks exactly as ordered. Salads served nice and fresh and cold. Food is delicious. Hostess is amazing. Practically has your table ready for you to be seated before you even get all the way in the door! It's a little pricey, but worth spending more for this quality of food and service.
We arrived early and were promptly seated outside (our preference). It was a lovely warm September night. Service was prompt and our waiter was excellent. He had the bartender make a mocktail for my non-drinking girlfriend; she said it was delicious. We ordered an appetizer and enjoyed our cocktails; the water asked when we would like to order our meals and it was an enjoyable slow paced evening. He recommended steaks and they were excellent! My aged strip was perfectly cooked Medium Rare + and my girlfriend's filet was as well. The two sides, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were delicious. We would definitely eat at an Eddie Merlots again!
My wife and I had another wonderful experience at Eddie Merlot's. This was our first time dining at the location at Burr Ridge. The food and service was excellent, as we have come to expect from Eddie Merlot's. Thanks for making a special occasion very special!
Service was great, Geoff was a great server, my steak orders MR came out rare, and wife ordered MW and came out medium, did not want to send back both steaks she looked like she had a ribeye cut from short look side of riibeye which almost looked more like a NY and mine had a huge eye of fat and very sloppy looking cut, I've had more tender steaks for less, figure go out for a special occasion for 1st aniversary and Eddie merlot came as a recommendation but, I don't feel I will be returned for that food experience, steaks need help especially for a handout ribeye if I order a MR steam that steam should look great and nice tight structure use the sloppy end cuts and loose structure for your WD orders
The service is exceptional. We have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience with the wait staff. I regret that the flatbread has been taken off the lunch menu because it was quite tasty. The French onion soup, however, is outstanding. Together with their signature bread, a very fine meal can be had.
My wife and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary here. We were thoroughly pleased and impressed with the attention to detail we received, the meal and the extensive wine list. Our server, Karen, was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered recommendations that were perfect for us. The ambience was absolutely what we desired to spend a romantic night together. We will definitely return with friends to enjoy ourselves again in the very near future.
We visited this restaurant for my husbands birthday! The hostess was very nice and seated us right away. Our server came over and introduced herself and mentioned all the specials for the day. We asked our server a few questions regarding some of the entrees on the menu. She gave her suggestion and seemed to. E very knowledgeable of the menu. The food was great . I would recommend this quiet Surburban restaurant to friends and family.
EM offer's upscale dining but at truly exorbitant prices (and I'm not a cheapo). Guy at next table asked if he could substitute one type of potato for another, and was told by the server " no substitutions allowed". That is not the type of attitude that the management should have at a place that pretends to be high end. Many other restauranteur's "get it"; this place doesn't. Hard to justify downtown Chicago prices without the experience.
Nothing special; service was okay. Restaurant needs some updates - all of the backs of chairs in main dining room are dirty. The salmon was fishy and the mix of sauces on top were horrible. Celebrating a birthday and they brought out a chocolate cake slice with a candle. This was nice, but the birthday boy doesn't eat chocolate. I politely ordered a slice of carrot cake for the birthday boy to-go. It would have been nice to ask first, but We were never provided the dessert menu. I saw another table with desserts so I ordered based on what I saw. I will not go back. Sullivan's, Gibson's, and Morton's are definitely better at food, service, and appearances.
Eddie's is on our list of go to places. Nice atmosphere w/o going downtown, valet a plus. Disappointed with the porkchop dinner. Too much sauce and alittle soft rather than firm and somewhat fatty. Wedge salad excellent as was the lobster bisgue. Crab legs so so. Wait staff very attendant .
We had such a lovely dinner celebrating our Navy daughter's rank promotion. Sedat, the manager and Ashley, our server, were so welcoming and accommodating. They have the best support staff and the venue is stunning. The beef carpaccio is so light and fresh, the seared ahi and cedar planked salmon were prepared just as requested and the filet mignon melted with each bite. Everyone really enjoyed their selections. This is definitely a special place for any occasion.
We visited EddieMerlot's on a Sunday Evening to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We made reservations online and although there were few other diners, we were seated in the back of the restaurant. Not a really bad spot, but not ideal. The restaurant has an outdoor eating area which we considered but it is really not attractive ...right next to parking lot with no plants or screening so basically, you are sitting almost surrounded by cars. My husband ordered the queen cut prime rib $44 Sunday eve special. I ordered lobster tail. Most of the entrees come without any sides so I ordered the Eddie's potatoes for 8.50. The prime rib was fine. But my meal was underwhelming. The lobster was somewhat dry and tough and the diced Eddie's potatoes were not worth 8.50. The waiter who was genial and efficient overcharged us on our bill but made the needed corrections. We rarely spend much money on dining out so this was a splurge, and we were disappointed.
Eddie Merlots never disappoints! Had my nephews shower here in the past, they gave outstanding food and service. My guests were really impressed. This time we had the small room since there were 8 of us celebrating a birthday. The server was friendly and the food outstanding again. You have to order the green beans for an appetizer even though they are not on the menu. Delicious! Steak and seafood always great. All the sides and desserts are also delicious. You will never be disappointed here! Thanks Eddie Merlots!
