Eddie Merlot's - Bloomfield Hills Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I dropped in for a quick drink and dinner after some Holiday shopping at Somerset. We had a great time...really enjoyed the food! Live music in the bar was perfect! Our bartender and server were fantastic. And, to top it all off, we loved the meal!
My steak was burned. I did ask for it to ne well done with no pink and blood. I have previously had a steak there before that was not done, but I sent it out and it was perfect. I asked the server to place the points on my tab, he took it upon himself to use my birthday gift card. I did not want that because I was coming again with family and was goin to utilize it then. He was not helpful, nor did he bring out the bread until we where almost finished with the soup. He seemed very despondent sad to say.
Waitress was annoying constantly around when you didn't need her and when you did need her to take back the food which was cooked incorrectly, she was never around! My salmon had to be sent back twice, and then couldn't eat it! It was drenched in oil! It is already an oily fish!
This was not up to expectations. Service was mediocre. Got a lecture on drinks - instead of making it as we asked - the service brought us the ingredients for us to make ourselves! What a shock! Very mediocre. Extremely high priced for such poor service. Disappointed- but I was warned not to go!
Chateaubriand was outstanding - perfect pink center! Scallops were also delicious and great pick. Finished off with triple chocolate cake. Overall very Nice ambiance, however, definitely on the loud side. High ceiling so everything echoes. Would definitely visit again.
Starting off the service was horrible and pretty much messed up our evening plan. We had a event after dinner. Our reservation was for 9:30p we were seated the only person that came to our table was the guy who asked if we wanted water. After that we waited for at least 30 minutes before we asked a gentleman if he could find our server. Turns out he was our server. Then he took our drink order we waited a while for the drinks, then he did our appetizers and meat at the same time. We waited a while for the appetizers then he didn’t put the meal order in until the appetizers were empty. We did receive a free appetizer and dessert. He was friendly but just the fact that service took SO long that we missed the second part of our event and had to reschedule was very frustrating.
First time here and probably the last.... food was bland and in my opinion not worth the money the appetizer which we had the eddie signature sides were cold.. server scott was attentive but that couldnt make up for poor food that your paying through the teeth for and in my opinion i could of received a better meal at a much better price at outback....
Went for anniversary dinner and was a great choice. Short wait for a table and place was elegant with nice jazz playing. Bar area was inviting and lively. The Tuna poke was a great refreshing starter and the crab corn bisque although rich was amazing. We had steak Dianne tableside service which was nice...its a lost art. They had a bit of a flare up issue but the server handled it well without burning anyone! Food was great. Extensive wine list and great dessert menu. We were stuffed but our server gave us a dessert anyway and they had a card signed by the staff for our anniversary. Our server had a troublesome table of eight which slowed him down a bit but I can say it was a great experience.
This use to be one of our favorites until they changed the menu. You use to be able to get items with a salad and/ or dessert. Not anymore. They have removed the least expensive items, that still were not inexpensive, and the entrees come with nothing. Very expensive to the point where it is over priced and not worth it compared to other restaurants.
It was our first time at Eddie Merlot's in Bloomfield and we had such an amazing time. Our server was Eddie and he really made our experience great. He went over the entire menu with us, answered all our questions, and was very personable. We were stuffed when we left and extremely pleased with our experience!
We chose Eddie Merlot's to host a small 50th Wedding Anniversary dinner for my parents. The restaurant included a beautiful Love Always & Forever large balloon on the table, along with a champagne toast for all the guests. Our server, Jarod, was attentive without being intrusive and was very friendly. He made excellent recommendations on wine and appetizer and meal selections. He even handled the kitchen's snafu on one of the meals very graciously. They also provided us with two desserts and coffees on the house for the anniversary (and a birthday celebration). Everything about the evening was top notch and special - thank you for making it great!
We got a $50 gift card for Eddie Merlot and went on a Thursday night at 6:45 PM. There were only 4 other couples dining, so the noise level was quite low (great!). Our server, Carla, was quite knowledgeable and gave us a run-down of the menu. I chose the Lemon Drop Martini followed by the King Crab & Corn Bisque, both of which were excellent. As my main course I had the 7 oz. Filet Mignon which was cooked exactly the way I requested. Everything is a la carte, so I requested two sides of Creamed Corn and Hash Brown Potatoes. They also were quite good, but the portions were large enough for two or four people (we took the remainder home). My wife had the New Orleans Mixed Grill which she loved. In summary, it was a good dining experience, but the price tag for two, including tip, was almost $200. This puts it in the category of Special Events Only.
During our visit we had the pleasure of having Edward Salame and from start to finish he made our dining experience spectacular. He was energetic, charismatic and extremely welcoming by making us feel as we have known him for years. Extremely attentive and attention to detail is key with Edward which was shown through his passion and work ethic. The filets were amazing and dessert paired with the dessert wine was out of this world. We will be back for sure in the near future and will be requesting Edward as well!
