Great service and surprisingly good food. Huge portions. I was pleasantly surprised because most hotel restaurants are bland and disappointing. Eclipse has style and great food.
I invited a couple of girlfriends out to celebrate new careers & successes along with friends from out of town for the holidays. Everyone didn’t arrive at the same time & I had more people than what my reservation had listed but they still accommodated us with no problems. Our waiter was very friendly and checked on us regularly and kept our drinks full even from the bar. The food was delicious! We ordered one crispy Brussel sprout appetizer which was heavenly and there was enough for all 5 of us! We also had the duck and waffle, lamb chops, jerk wings, shrimp and grits and house salad with crab cakes. Afterwards we went upstairs to the rooftop where the music and ambiance was spectacular. It was a nice mixed crowd of people and the bartenders were fast and attentive. We ordered all of our drinks from this elaborate cocktail menu & enjoyed every last one. Absolutely no complaints and definitely will be back with more friends and family.
Was delicious and the service was great! Would definitely recommend and come back
Service was terrible! Waitress couldn’t have been less attentive and dinner could not have taken longer (2 and a half hours). Ordered a running man which was good, ordered a second one and it came out green when the first was orange. Asked if this was the same drink and was told yes “they found Powerade” they thought they were out of. Not a huge deal but shady for a $12 drink! Asked for the bill and the waitress disappeared for 15 minutes, had to finally go to the bar and ask for her. She had not started preparing the check as requested and was trying to figure out who had what (we were 3 couples) which had lined out what we all had when asking for the check. So we are standing there in the middle of the restaurant trying to once again explain who had what only to just pay for everything with one card because we had to go to make our show. On top of that they added a tip and didn’t tell us so we tipped on top of that. Waitress knew she didn’t deserve a good tip! Food was ok but not great. This place is definitely not worth it.
Our server was great and the food ok drink where ok.
Great service and drinks! Wish there were more vegan/vegetarian options, but the food we ended up ordering was delicious.
My best friend and his wife were in town visiting family & before they left I wanted to treat them to a nice dinner. We were late for our reservation but the hostess Daijhanee was very sweet and accommodating. She sat us comfortably and immediately we were greeted by our server who came with ice cold waters in hand. Antoinette, our server, was very knowledgeable about wine selections for dinner & very personable. We ordered jerk wings & shrimp and grits for our appetizers which were cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was like biting into an authentic plates of Jamaican food & creole cuisine. For entrees we wanted a family style dining experience so we ordered the Nashville Chicken Po Boy, Voodoo Shrimp Pasta, Mojito Chicken Roulade. And out of nowhere we were greeted with a surprise Whole Fried Snapper that smelled so aromatic, it lured your nose into a savory sensation. The food didn’t take long to come out at all. All of the variety of flavors were so fresh & blended so well together but stood out individually as well. We were rotating plates around the table and eating so many different bites of each meal, we couldn’t decide which one we liked the best. It felt like we were at home instead of a public setting. We even got to meet the executive chef DC, who was very humble and proud of his food but gave us a big smile in appreciation of his customers having an amazing experience. At the end of the night, we didn’t have any left overs & were extremely satisfied. We will definitely be back to try their brunch as well which is rumored to be the best the city of St. Louis has ever had. Bravo Eclipse Restaurant.
We really enjoyed our dinner. The menu was different and lots of interesting options that I haven’t seen before. If you don’t like Spivey food be sure to ask the server.
Service was difficult because they only had one bartender and 2 servers but that’s just how it is these days. We enjoyed our dinner
I don't feel like writing a full review, just stars. Thanks!
Food was okay, nothing fantastic. Server was way too busy but did as well as she could. They could have had the greeter bussing tables or running drinks, but she just played on her phone the entire time. It’s a great place to catch up with friends, just don’t have high expectations on the food.
Good for dates. Really interesting spot, looks nice too, easy parking, nice food for a decent price. Cool staff.
Bloody Mary’s were not good at all. Sick stalk of celery in the drink. Waited forever for drinks, even the iced tea.
Service was sporadic, food came out one dish at a time.
Brunch was good but nothing great.
Will not hurry back!
Food was great! Waitress was a little slow and forgetful.
I loved my dinner at Eclipse Restaurant! The service was great and the food was outstanding. I will definitely return.
There were perhaps 4 tables full in the restaurant. It took 50 minutes to get my drink—Business Casual, which I highly recommend. An hour to get our appetizers. Our server was empathetic--nothing she could do about the very very slow bar and kitchen, but geez. Food was excellent but predictably overpriced for a boutiquey hotel. We were the loudest table there, so can't complain about that. My friend Anna said, "This is the best hamburger I've ever had in my life." The voodoo shrimp pasta was excellent as well.
Wonderful jewel in the Loop!!
Ate at the rooftop rather than the ground floor restaurant. Overall very good. Music was very loud at times. Server was good and friendly, but slow because she had so many tables to cover. Food was tasty, drinks were good. Especially recommended when there is temperate weather.
Unexpected flavor! Every single dish we tried was delicious.
We unexpectedly had a free evening in the STL area and happened upon this restaurant with availability on Open Table. We make a last minute reservation and headed out.
Upon arrival (less than 20 minutes), we found no outside dining. We were directed to take the elevator to the rooftop bar area (with a child), but no seating available. A nicety: check with the rooftop dining before sending guests on a wild goose ride.
Ultimately, the rooftop was full and we were seated inside the small restaurant with at least one patron full on open coughing for the duration… during a pandemic. Our assigned waitstaff was wearing a mask, but no one else interacting with our table.
Our server was pleasant but forgetful. Child’s dinner ordered during appetizers was not delivered without prompting, twice. The after dinner martini ordered with the check was never delivered.
Summary; Food great, very flavorful. Salmon, Steak & Frites, Calamari and Lobster tacos, macaroni/cheese were all phenomenal.
Menu on open table not the same as restaurant need to be on same level
Great gem in the loop. Hip yet upscale. Delicious real food for the adult crowd. Had brunch and will be back to try lunch and dinner.
Service was attentive and friendly.
Father's day brunch: When we arrived the hostess was clueless about our reservation on open table. We requested outdoor seating, and we didn't not receive that. Service was rough, but the food was delicious!!
I was celebrating my birthday.
Decided to do Brunch.
Everyone in my party were very pleased with service and food options.
Will definitely be back.
The food was great. A little pricy for a brunch though. Service was good. You could tell she was new but so friendly and helpful. Had to wait even though we had a reservation but not to bad. Bartenders were very friendly. Good over experience.
Terrible service. Decent food. Cute decor but wouldn’t go back again due to waiting over an hour for appetizers.
Good food but service sucked
Pleasant overall. Waitress forgot to put in one of the orders from our table, and didn’t discover it until everyone else at the table was served. Restaurant moved quickly to correct and offered to reduce the cost of the steak by 50 %. Waitress then brought a bill with no reduction. Sigh. On the whole, we were happy and it is worth a second chance…
Great food and service. Noise level was low. Drinks were very good
Boyfriend and I went for brunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Drinks were great. Food was good. He got the lamb, I got an omelette and the only thing left on the table when we left was a bit of his rice and beans because it was spicy as hell. Overall pretty good, would return.
The service was extremely poor we had to wait for mixed drinks that took just as long as an appetizer to come out. The server never checked on the table.
Great service & great food. Will be returning back.
Antonette, our waitress, was extremely good, The manager came to check on us. The food was very good, the drinks were well made. I would go back in heartbeat. Great Place .
Interesting cocktails. Truffle fries excellent. Brussell sprouts tasty!
We had a 10:30 reservation which we checked on 2 days before. We had to wait for 30 minutes for the table.
Had to make last minute adjustment to reservation, and staff was great. Had drinks and 3 apps before a concert next door. Took a while to get service, seemed slightly understaffed on a Thurs, but once we got our orders in, everything was great. Personal service from the bartender to get our drinks out- nice touch.
Great service! Server was very nice and service was very fast. The menu was very limited but the food was very flavorful. Had a large vegan selection
Great food and great service!! Everyone was so friendly and the food was flavorful and delicious.
Antoinette was our waitree. She was very attentive. One of our party wanted to taste the tomato soup to see if it was too spicy for her, and Antoinette brought her a sample. We all enjoyed our meals: grilled cheese, fish and chips, lobster/mac appetizer. We were going to the concert at Delmar Hall and the Eclipse was an excellent choice for location, food, and service. We'll be back.
Eclipse is not only great food but a great place to just sit and soak in the atmosphere.
It was fine. Please let this survey end.
