Many of the negative comments were related to the service at the buffet. Overall the service was great

Unfortunately the food was not very good and the selection was very disappointing. The buffet is severely over priced and would highly recommend going to the pub or leaving the resort

I have not been to Eclipse for roughly 9 years or so but did return to a great meal and a fun night of dining..
I had the buffet and was so pleasantly surprised at the quality and tast..
Everything was amazing from starters to mains and desserts.. service was great too.
I most certainly will return!!!

Honestly I was told by staff that this was the best restaurant at Deerhurst when I booked but Compass was so much better. I was not told it was a buffet. The server assumed we were having the buffet. I was confused and asked for a menu but decided to go for the buffet after all. It was tired and it was obvious that the buffet was nearing the end of the night. I wouldn’t have booked an 8:15 reservation if I knew the buffet was at the end of its life at 8:30. It was certainly not worth the price. There was no way I would go back.

The food was good but some desserts seem to be store bought which we were not expecting for the price. This is the only reason we felt we couldn’t recommend the restaurant, we didn’t get the value for the price.

For the amount of food offered, and the quality of it, I would not say that it is worth the price you are paying. Not to mention half the stations were nearly empty when I went up to fill my plate. I imagine the price is marked up being within Deerhurst Resort, but at least make it worth it then.

This meal was for a Boxing Day breakfast with friends. We had a preferred membership which gave us a 50% discount on food. The problem was that even though our friends were also members, they have a rule that you cannot have more than two people at the table to get the 50%discount, so even though there were many empty tables, we had to sit back to back at two tables. The food was okay, our eggs benedict was very vinegary and the English muffin was so tough that it was difficult to cut. The rest of the breakfast was okay, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Too expensive for such a limited selection. Restaurant was not full, yet we were seated within a foot of a couple obviously on a date, with no other tables occupied within 20 feet. Food was underwhelming. Wait staff was plentiful but unavailable except for the young water girl who did a fantastic job. I doubt we’ll eat there again. Time to overhaul - the Deerhurst should offer much better for money spent.

The breakfast buffet was very disappointing - the hot food was cold very quickly; soggy waffles, egg substitute tasting scrambled eggs, etc.

I was sadly disappointed with this restaurant. The food was not even close to being acceptable especially for the price. The service when ok when the server actually came to the table. The food was cold and had no flavor (namely the pasta and roast beef). The roasted carrots tasted like strange and the desserts with visually unappealing so we passed so could not comment on the taste.
We were in shock when we received the bill which made it even more disappointing because we did not even consider looking at pricing assuming that the restaurant being located in what we had been told was a high end resort.
Extremely disappointed and all that 1 have shared this with upon my return from my 3 days stay were equally disappointed because this had always been seem as a beautiful place to stay.

Sunday brunch very poor quality food and limited selection. Staff were attentive. Decor tired. Omelettes were fresh and ok but a very slow process. Fresh ham well prepared. Foods in warming dishes were not fresh and unimaginative.

We did the thanksgiving buffet. Amazing selection, EXCELLENT prime rib, serious value. It was very busy for the holiday so a little more crowded and noisy than I like, but overall very good!

Sadly the service was terrible which ended up reflecting on the rest of the meal. The person that filled our water bottles didn't know if we could order from a menu or not and said we'd have to ask our waitress. (strange to me that she didn't know this info.) So....we waited.........and waited...........decided to forgo the menu and ate at the buffet........and waited.....never ONCE did our waitress come by to get a drink order (and we would have happily ordered several drinks).....when we were done.....we waited......as did most of the other people around us - - could hear their conversations as well about where the mystery waitress was. I finally asked the water lady to locate our waitress.....and....you guessed it.....waited.....finally after being seated 1 1/2 hours earlier our waitress showed up with the bill. And NO I did NOT leave a tip - - - as soon as she saw this she immediately began to apologize on how bad her service was and asked us, finally but too late, if we'd "like a drink, tea, anything?" We were so fed up we said "no" - - she did offer to spot us each for a drink at another place but seriously??? This is supposed to be an upstanding, well-known for service resort. This service sucked big time!! It was almost pathetic that she even KNEW how bad she was but didn't want to correct it ahead of time. We will NOT be coming back for a very long time which is sad because this could be a place of greatness but it's quickly becoming a place of "MEH". When I checked the comments before we booked I saw the negative reviews and thought hopefully the managers have read this and taken care of the problem.....clearly this has not happened.

My wife and I went as a date. This restaurant seemed to be the one most of the hotel occupants ise so it was very busy. Our waitress brought us our drinks and told us we could head to the buffet when we were ready. We were not offered to order from the menu. After that we never saw her again until she brought us the bill. In her defense I think they were short staffed. Food was good but was not as good as antler.

Buffet style, quick and good choices. Hot and cold dishes so something for everyone. Service was also fast and attentive, always coming to the table to see if we needed anything. Good choice of wines a price for every taste. The setting was also enjoyable, would have preferred closer to the water.

We're locals and enjoy bringing our extended family here for dinner. Being a long weekend it was busy, we anticipated this though. Our waitress was disappointing, which is too bad as we have had some exceptional service in the past. Not this time.

Service for buffet breakfast was outstanding, as was the choice- hot or cold, but especially hot. Having locally produced maple syrup for pancakes was neat! Our grand kids enjoyed both breakfast and dinner buffets!

Love the setting and views. Staff were fabulous - personable, helpful and although busy always able to have a short chat. We had both Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast here. Loved the omelettes. Great selection of salads and fruit, wonderful 'make your own desserts' for kids.

For the price of the evening buffet - I was really disappointed in the choices. There was no meat carving section - short ribs in sauce - low end of beef only - no vegetable options - only sweet potatoes- no other choice - the mac and cheese for kids was not what kids eat - they don't want penne noodles with baked cheese on top. Three choices to top green salad with. REALLY disappointed. I will indicate the the dessert table seemed to have more of a selection then the hot food. I am speaking for the group of 10 that attended. No one was happy with the choices. The food was ok though what was there. Will not be back for dinner at this resTaurant.

For the amount of money we spent per person for the buffet the food was very disappointing. Even if it was half the cost I still would not recommend this to anyone. They really need to improve the food. One positive note, Our server was very friendly and quite helpful.

The quality of the food was very poor.
This is something that should be incuded in the already inflated cost of this resort.
The "dining room", along with the rest of the resort, is worn, dated, and in desperate need of sprucing up.
We left feeling quite disappointed, it's obvious the owners are only interested in making a profit, not investing in this property.

We decided to go for the a la carte menu as the buffet did not seem ample enough to justify the $37 cost. The pickerel dish was good but the stuffed eggplant needed to be cooked longer for the flavours to meld.

To be honest it was very expensive for a mediocre meal. I was not very impressed with the quality or the choices. It is a shame but the tables were too close together and it was not a special dining experience. When the bill came, I was floored as it came to over $210 but was certainly not worth it.
