Eclipse Restaurant - Deerhurst Resort
For the fall season open Friday and Saturdays offering a dinner buffet each Friday and Saturday $37.95 / children buffet $9.99 12 years to 5 years. Four and under complimentary.
Table d' hote menu also available.
Unfortunately we opted for the buffet rather than menu which could have made the difference. But the food was very mediocre at best. We didn’t even go back to the buffet to try more & left both original plates unfinished. With the cost of staying at the resort being on the more expensive side & the buffet at almost $30 each, although not fine dining as we hoped. This was still very lacking on all levels. We hope that for other guests going forward, they up there quality much more. It has great potential to be so.
Staff are friendly and accommodating. We will come back again on Summer with our children. Hoping that check in time would be earlier than 4:00 pm so that visitors can explore the resort. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and this is the place (gazebo at the lake) where i have fulfilled my promise of a love for a lifetime, a church wedding for my wife and formal marriage proposal which took 25 years to materialize. All happened during our stay at the Resort. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
Quiet relaxing brunch with my mother
Can't really comment on the food since we actually walked out before getting any service. My husband and I sat for 20 minutes ( no exaggeration ) while servers leaned up against furniture and cleared tables. Not so much as an introduction or offer for beverage. The Host that sat us was very pleasant. I have been before and the food has been good so we will give it another go. Servers need to step up their game a little.
I was stunned to get a bill for $70.00+ for brunch for two. I understood it was 18.99 a person fot hot buffet. For this reason I would cation people who are considering going. The food was good but $35.00 a person for brunch is excessive.
The buffet didn't have a ton of overwhelming options. The food that was presented was fresh and tasty. Our server didn't interrupt our meal too many times, which was nice. Sometimes you can get an "eager" server.
The atmosphere was nice, as we were seated next to the window overlooking the grounds.
I would recommend Eclipse to families and couples.
A wonderful dining experience overlooking the muskoka scene.
We continue to go to this restaurant because of the service and the wonderful views and because it is a very relaxing place to be. We had the buffet at diner time. The food however was not the greatest. I have been to much better buffets. My husband and I also found the price to be a bit high at $47.99.
Kids selections wasn’t great and for the overall price, I expected a much higher quality of food and much more choice. Wouldn’t recommend.
The food selection was minimal and not great quality for the price. We wouldn’t eat at the dinner buffet again.
It would be nice if there were the option of chicken or turkey “bacon” and chicken or turkey sausages not just pork.
They baked beans were very yummy!
Food was very good but difficult to justify paying $120 for 2 adults with one drink each, a child under 6 and a child under 2. I get that it's a resort but that's a little much.
I’m not usually a buffet fan but this one exceeded my expectations. The food was quite good and the service was excellent. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the selection was expansive. The kids loved dipping the fresh strawberries in chocolate for dessert. We liked it so much that the kids convinced me to come back for the breakfast buffet. Loved that you could make reservations online.
Very expensive. I have never taken my girls out for dinner and the bill was $200.
The restaurant tries hard but seems tired. The food seems store/box bought. Prime rib was well done - no medium rare or rare. Cheese/appetizers were pretty basic. Staff tries hard but seem tired. Overall for the buffet price it wasn't anything special. I wouldn't go there again.
Great Buffett . Staff was excellent with our young daughter !
The serving staff were so wonderful! They made the experience that much better. Always offered ideas of things to do while staying, checked in often and were so friendly!!! My husband and I commented at each meal how great they were. The food was delicious, a lot of variety. Cajun Corn Chowder was incredible!
The food was nothing special. They lacked on variety. The price was not worth the service I received
The Restaurant was ok. Def. could use an update. Lot's of staff, which was good. Love that the kids are allowed to eat there as well, I think that's great. The one thing I did notice though was no pasta dish and no fish. For a 40.00 buffet, I would have expected a salmon entree and certainly a lasagne or some other kind of pasta. (3 cheese totillini doesn't count).
We did not have the best experience. It was Famiy Day Weekend and clearly the dining room was having a hard time keeping up with turning table over and the buffet was very untidy. Many empty dishes at 7:00 pm.
Our bad for making a reservation on a Saturday night of this weekend. Disappointed in the bright lighting and the incredible noise level.
Food was mediocre and poor selection given the price of almost $40 per person. Obviously there is additional charge because you’re in the resort but the selection and quality of food was terrible.
On a normal night, I believe the service would be alright, at least I am optimistic about it. I think servers were overwhelmed for Valentines Day. We received our amuse bouche at the same time as our appetizers. One order of meat was undercooked slightly, other overcooked a bit. Waiter did not check on our table after we received our order. Coffee/tea was on the set menu but was never offered. Some servers wandered about obviously looking for the table their order was to go to. All in all, I might try it again on a night that wasn't a feature.
For a buffet it is over-priced for what you get. There were 5 or 6 options for the dinner, not much of a buffet selection, food was cold and we had a reservation. They shouldn’t call it a buffet it should just be called serve yourself our limited options. Definitely not worth the price of $40/person!
Excellent experience for our large family. The restaurant wasn’t loud and it wasn’t too quiet for young children. All items were labeled very well and we were grateful for all the Halal selection. We also enjoyed brunch the next day.
Service was excellent!!
The buffet wasn’t as I expected. Little to no selection of food, really expensive for what I had paid for also had to wait 20 mins for water.
The large glass panels provided a great lake view. The buffet items were delicious! Friendly staff.
Love love love this gem when staying at Deerhurst Resort! Great Sunday brunch!
The food was excellent, for the items we chose. The desserts were amazing!
The waitress was pleasant, just not around much, so our plates didn't get cleared by the time we went up and back.
We would totally eat here again.
Expensive but pretty good food.
It isn’t super but it is only open buffet...People are friendly.
we were given a $75 voucher at the resort as our room wasn't ready on time - we decided to make a reservation at this place - we made a reso for 6:30 but couldn't get a reso until 7:30 - the place was virtually empty at 7 pm. The buffet was disappointing - pasta was overcooked and obviously had been sitting for some time - the beef was well done. A poor food selection considering the price of over $37 a person!!
Have been to this restaurant many times. Out experience on New Year’s Day was very disappointing! Food selection was poor. Prime rib was cold and tough.
Desert table didn’t have good selection.
Definitely not as good as it has been in pervious visits!
Left very disappointed ☹️
Great food, good people, overall well worth it we were well looked after....a group of 9 .
Food was bland. Selection was poor. For the price point - not worth it at all.
We have been going to this restaurant for some time hoping that it would get better however
it has been going down hill for some time now. My husband and I decided that we will not be going
back any time soon, Also it is not worth the price of $40.00
My wife, our little 15 month old and myself stayed at Deerhurst for a few days and ate at the Eclipse restaurant on the final evening of our stay.
We opted for the Buffet and weren't disappointed. There were many options to choose from and all very nice dishes as well. We were all impressed and we enjoyed our mean + the service and the environment.
It was quite pricey but understandable given the options that we had.
The prices are different then on their website. For breakfast portions are small for the amount you pay, but the food was great!
Variety of buffet was ok but nothing special. The eggs were cold. The restaurant itself was not overly clean. Staff were nice enough.
Been to better breakfast buffets. Value for the price vs choices is not there. I was disappointed
