Eclipse di Luna - Buckhead Ratings and Reviews
It has been a while since we went to Eclipse di Luna at the Miami Circle location. It's a good place for tapas and drinks - there's latin live music, though we prefer the bands at the other locations. A bit restricted when it comes to having to wait till your party is complete before they seat you. I guess they prefer an empty table and missing out on selling drinks. I am sure there is a good reason for it, but other then their own convenience I can't think of one. Also they don't expect splitting bills - you will have to figure it out yourself.
The lamb is really good and a must have, there are many other plates that are great.
Came to Eclipse with a couple of friends. First time for all of us. We really liked the food. Spices were apropos but not overly spicy. C loved the Sangarita and the flan. Our server was fabulous with recommendations and service. We were in the back room and as we came through the main dining area to leave we were thankful b/c the main dining area seemed very noisy. We'll be back and we'll be sure to ask for the back room.
Felt very rushed and the food was not fresh like it usually is. So in other words felt like I wasted my money and bragging rights to my date because I have been talking about this restaurant to her for over a year now. Was just waiting for a special occasion to present itself so I would be able to cater to her for her birthday before our concert at Philips Arena. Crazy thing also is the food was so bad that day that I ended up eating at the arena. Sucks money wasted.
This was my 2nd visit. It seems the food tasted better the first time I was at the restaurant. We had Paella del Dia this time and it was average at best. There are a lot of gluten free tapas options and this has been nice for me!
Also, there was live music the first time I went (weeknight). I went on Friday evening this time and there was not music. Perhaps we arrived and left to early.
Even with a reservation, we had to wait over an hour in the rain (when it would pour we were huddled with about 50 strangers in the reception and when it was anything but pouring everyone preferred to get drenched outside). Table service was nothing to write home about either. I keep coming back and every time the service really misses the mark.
My husband and I were traveling to Atlanta for an anniversary trip. We love tapas and Eclipse Di Luna fit the bill. We were originally inside, but thought an outside table under the tent would be more fun. Hostess was a. It disgruntled that we moved, but our new server was thrilled. Food was fantastic and the ambience was lively. Too bad the view is of the parking lot, but who cares when everything else is great. We ate too much!
I did not enjoy my time there today. The food is always amazing, but the noise level was so high, even before the band started, that I had to yell at the people across the table to be heard. I knew there would be an issue with noise and so specifically asked to be placed on the patio when making the reservation. When we got there, the hostess even reiterated that we would be on the patio. She had someone check on a specific table (#104) and they came back to say it wasn't ready yet. She turned to us and said it would be just a moment and she would call us when that table was ready. We stood there for another 15 minutes watching people that came in after us be seated, on the patio. Finally, almost 20 minutes later we are seated, not on the patio. I reminded them that we were supposed to be on, and had been told we would be, on the patio. The woman said, "This is where I was told to put you, but I'll check". We never saw her again. No one came to say anything to us about the mixup. I had guests in from out of the country and it was so loud that one gave up (its hard enough to be heard in a language you are fluent in, let alone in a language you are just learning). Our waitress was spectacular (thank you Caroline M) but it was not a fun time and we left with sore throats from yelling. I have been coming here pretty much since it opened and this is the first time that I left disappointed
I love this place! My husband and I are big tapas fans and they do a wonderful job delivering fresh, creative and tasty offerings.
We sampled the hummus, oysters, calamari and coca (roasted mushrooms). All were good but the hummus and calamari were outstanding
Our server, E. Ellis, provided outstanding, attentive and knowledgeable service.
Always a "must stop" when we are in the area. Highly recommend.
