ECHO St.Simons Island
great location; service was average. believe training is an issue.
We were celebrating our new “empty nest” and had
Purposely chosen Sat Moonlight Dinner event. We were sat at a window seat that was not the window. The furniture was old and worn. The view was of a wedding reception and the menu was limited as many offerings were not available. The food was ok but not worth the price. We got the crab cake appetizer that were really soft. Them the shrimp scampi that was not a traditional scampi as the shrimp were fried and not that flavorful. The meal it self feel short. Over all the event was not what we had expected and the cost was way overpriced
Went for the Full Moon special. The “special” meal was ordinary chicken breast, so passed on that. Server pointed out several items on the menu that they were out of. Ordered small plates. They were also out of an ingredient for the cocktail my husband ordered. Food and drinks were both overpriced. Families were there with children, adding to the noise level. If the moon came up we never saw it. Suggest either sit outside or they should dim the interior lighting to cut down on the harsh reflections in the windows.
Shrimp crab soup was awesome....the view could not be better!!!!
The grouper was overcooked. I had to send it back. There were 5 flies in the window near our table. Also overpriced for what we received. I am sorry to say we will not be back.
Dining on the patio next to the ocean in an upscale setting with a great breeze can’t be beat. Everything else, meh.
We enjoyed our dinning experience. Will come back soon .
Beautiful patio dining. Our server was very friendly. The only thing stopping me from giving all 5 stars was the GNATS.
The view is great. That is the only positive thing I can say. The food is ok at best. I asked for a cranberry seltzer and was brought a bottle of seltzer and a glass of cranberry for me to mix. My appetizer came at the same time as my husband’s meal after an hour of waiting. My dinner came 15 minutes after that. The food is not worth the wait.
Ate in dining room. Tables nicely spaced apart. Good by-the-glass wine selections. Watermelon salad was delicious.
Everything was delicious
I definitely recommend this place
We were truly looking forward to our dinner at ECHO and it was good but just ok good. Service was great and really the best part. Food was generally good. Lobster bisque was generic and corn chowder was tasty. ECHO sampler was great. The pimento hummus was unique but was served with only 2 small crostini and crab cake was crispy and had good crab taste. The wedge salad was "deconstructed" and was a joke. The best part was a heirloom tomatoes that was completely covered up by the wedge of iceberg lettuce. Our party had several good entrees, Grouper tacos, Drunken clam angel hair pasta and Herb crusted salmon, but my wife had the grouper special. The risotto was excellent but the pan seared grouper was shoe leather. They were going to cook an additional piece but it never made it back. Overall was a little disappointing. I would probably give them another shot, maybe just a busy night.
Good food. A bit loud. Would have liked it to be more quaint. Had a view of ocean... nice....
We were a party of 5 on an 830 reservation, which I realize is late. We were there until 1030, but we weren't just lingering. However, almost the entire time we were there, the staff was putting up chairs and the mop bucket was sitting outside the kitchen in plain sight. As for the food, while the crab salad portion was very generous, most things were small for the price, the salmon was barely seasoned, the mussels did not taste right, and the lobster bisque did not have very much lobster. Was excited to eat here and I really hope they turn it around.
We really enjoy ourselves every time we come to Echo. Our server was fantastic (Larisha) and we're looking forward to coming in again.
Wonderful dinner with family! Our server was very attentive and you can't beat the VIEW!!
Quality of the food and service has declined. The outdoor ambiance is outstanding but unless the quality of food improves and service improves it is not worth it. It seems there is no consistency to food quality and service.
Thank goodness for the oceanview or we would have left. 4pm seating in an otherwise dead restaurant yet service was slow and inattentive. When I was ready to order, the 2 items I wanted were out- Octupus and tuna. Either take them off the menu or tell the customer when first seated. I decided to stay for the view and enjoy the quiet. The lamb I did order came on a cheesy gooey mess called risotto. very disappointed.
Food quality is slipping.
Sevice was terrible and food was not fresh and not good.
Great evening out with 12 ladies to celebrate bride to be! Waitress was great with the group and beautiful spot to enjoy.
Loved the food and the beachy environment- will be back
Flies bothered us for our entire meal and we sat indoors!
Clearly they were not on their game. We live nearby and love showing off the restaurant to our visitors.
At the hostess stand we requested a table outside, but were informed there were none available. I would have appreciated a more complete explanation as there were many outside tables that we vacant when we were seats and remained vacant the entire time. Service was noticeably slow and minimal.
My husband and our guest chose shrimp and grits which were both tasty and well plated. My lobster salad was presented on an over large white plate, in a very unpleasant way the salad covered half the plate with a large space left over; it was the most unattractive plate presentation I have seen in a while.
Slow service at first.
Good was average.
Prior visits were much better.
Perfect dinner with partner or friends. Beautiful overlooking beach table
Food lacks originality.
Great view for full moon. Special menu was perfect
I found it odd that people going to and from the beach walk among tables at a nice restaurant. That was a mood killer for me
We had been here 2 years ago on vacation and really enjoyed the food then. This time around was not a good experience. Appetizer sampler was good. I had the swordfish special and the fish wasn’t properly cooked. Neither was my dates steak; a 14 oz sirloin that was mostly fat and did not have a proper cook. The server was not attentive at all. I had to remind him to bring my wine and we sat with dirty plates from the appetizer on the table for the entire meal. Extremely disappointed. The restaurant is situated right on the beach so the view was the best part.
Our first time to St Simons it was a great experience great food and service. We had an Oceanfront dinner and it was absolutely great! Dave was our server and he did a great job!
Great venue, beautiful view. Service was good. Food was mediocre and overpriced.
Savannah was excellent. Food was great-octopus appetizer the best we have EVER had!! Can’t wait to come visit again!
Louie gooey desert is best desert I’ve ever had.
This place is fantastic and you MUST get the gooey butter cake for dessert! The best dessert I’ve had in my life. The staff and service were also excellent and the view can’t be beat.
Loved the chowder & Niçoise salad with the Brunch. The shrimp in the Shrimp & Grits was a little over cooked (for the first time). We’ve ordered it many times.
Service and food were outstanding. Had a table with a great view of the beach. Robin our server, was extremely friendly and engaging. My and my friends complaint is the drinks are extremely weak. When you pay $13 for a gin and tonic, you should be able to taste the alcohol. I was like that for every drink we were served for each of us. I did not complain, because I was having such a good time, I did not want to ruin it. However, next time I will.
Echo is okay. The food is not exciting but was good. The service needs work and please get rid of the flies!!!!
Great service and delicious food
Very nice location and wonderful view. Food was ok. Service was good. Overall a good evening.
