ECHO St.Simons Island
Lunch/Dinner Menu: 11:30am until 10pm
Food is good, but unprofessional service and sticky tables ruin the experience.
The food quality is okay but the view, the ambiance, and our great server, Noah Sabo, makes it a key place for us to go. We were very fortunate to have great live entertainment, Monique of Free Soul, was singing that night. The acoustics were much better this time than before. Love to be there to enjoy the ocean view and the friendly bar.
The decor reminds me of an airport cafe, with sticky faux wood tabletops. Whoever designs their menu must be from another country : I ordered an 8 ounce “Porterhouse” just to see if it is actually possible to cut beef like that. It turned out to be a boneless filet, but who worries about small details, right? They should just call it Peking Duck.
Food was okay. Our waitress was terrible. She was not friendly, had a could not be bothered attitude. A bug crawled across the table and landed on me. I knocked it off and my husband stepped on it. When we told her, she looked at it, rolled her eyes and walked away.
Always love going to Echo!
We love our favorite waitress "Jackie".
We were given a VERY limited menu and told that there was “a problem in the kitchen.” The folks I was with were from out of state and were staying at the K & P, so we opted to stay there to eat. The food that WAS available was not good. As a local, I was embarrassed to have this kind of experience with out-of-town business people.
Truly enjoyed our meal. Although it was raining, we were still able to enjoy sitting outside.
Food was great
Service, was horrible. Waitress paid little attention. Hard to get a hold of. Knew little about the m we my.
Seemed like diners a wee a distraction to her. Spent most of her time talking with someoneone near the kitchen.
I’ve been to Echo many times. This was not a good experience. Our waiter was only waiter in whole area I think. He did not check on us. I asked for 2nd glass of wine and never got it. My sister got wrong order and they did fix it. My crab cakes were overdone and not good. I will think twice about returning
We dined at Echo on the evening of October 26th. The atmosphere is very nice along with the music and worst fire place in the atrium area.
We have eaten here before and this time was not as positive experience as it has been in the past. The server was friendly and versed in the menu, etc. Service was O.K. but she only filled the water glass once in over 90 minutes. The location is grand but I was puzzled in that I was told I couldn't' get a reservation except for 5:30 or after 8:00. We were there until just after seven and there was only one other couple in our dining room. We had a party of ten seated at 5:30. No one was upset really because we were just so glad to be with our friends. Drinks were very good.
My wife and I had the Grouper dish which was adequate, the shrimp and grits were reported to be excellent, the one steak at the table was reported to be the worst he had ever had when eating out, pot roast, scallops, and salad were all good. Creme Brûlée was very good.
Guys, it just stands to reason that when going to a place like this, at the King & Prince Resort, that everything would be excellent throughout.
The meal is expensive and should be exceptional. The young man that cleared away the food was a little unkept and not up to par with a nice restaurant image.
Only issue was that the tables were sticky, otherwise it was fantastic!
Better lighting and better ambience needed in dinner setting. Lunch was fine. Overall though good experience and very good food on 2 visits.
Was here for friends birthday.Loved the ambience of the restaurant especially the ocean side dinning option . We had the coastal catch of the day(10/19 - don’t remember the name) and blackened salmon which were both delicious. Loved the dessert so much that we returned the next afternoon just for the dessert as an afternoon snack! Wonderful experience overall. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to any one that visits St Simons Island
We go here often and always get enjoy a nice meal; however, this was the best food and service we have ever had. They seemed to have stepped up both the food and the service. Will be returning soon.
I really want to love this restaurant because the location is unbeatable. The views are spectacular. And some of the food is truly delicious. Unfortunately, the restaurant was freezing cold and, though we asked to have the temperature adjusted, that didn’t appear to be possible. Also, while two of us had delicious meals one of us — unfortunately the birthday girl — Was initially served cold scallops only to be replaced by nearly raw scallops. It was disappointing to say the least. But the rest of our food was actually quite good.
We love Echo. Favorites are shrimp and grits, pot roast, and creme brûlée!! We love celebrating special occasions on SSI and at Echo.
Two couple enjoyed 4 different meals. Each of us said how delicious everything was.
The service was terrible. We waited for over 30 minutes for them to take our order. They forgot one of our appetizers. Meals did not come out at the same time. One meal was the wrong entree. One entree was inedible. The kids rated their school cafeteria food higher than their meals at ECHO. The waitress did not apologize for any of it. We hope that they can improve. The location is stellar right on the water, so this could be the best place in SSI. The King and Prince is a fabulous hotel, and the lobby bar area is great. Such a disappointment to have this restaurant with terrible service.
Loved the Echo experience. Thank you for the delicious food, great service, and fun environment.
This place will treat you like a king. Best service and food anywhere. Oceanfront is outstanding with a perfect view.
We have been here a number of times and have always enjoyed the view and the food. This past Friday night we went the place was freezing, not very busy and we received our food cold. We asked the waitress and she came back fairly quickly with "New" food, while the scallops were hot the burger was not!
We told them, got no compensation, service was terrible....Very disappointing for a nice restaurant that usually does great in these two categories!
Our server was awesome! The food looked like fine dining food but it did not taste like high quality food. The food was not worth the price.
Everything was good with my experience. The only negative is the cost. To me not worth it. Maybe once for the experience or maybe another special occasion but not likely. My NY strip was 50$, while it was cooked very good I don’t pay 50$ for a NY strip. Also the drink we had were unique and very good but again 14$ drink
Not sure what the problem was Friday night. Service was awful (slow). They had more food runners than wait staff. We only saw two wait staff and only one of them was hustling. Where was the management to pitch? Prime Rib was awful. We expect small amounts of internal fat and a small fat cap, we easily trimmed away 50% fat off of the meat, and, it was chewy tough.
We have dined at Echo previously and enjoyed it. Not sure if we will go back after this experience.
We were a bit disappointed in Echo, we expected more. Service was slow, food was ok, not great, a bit overpriced for what we got--really the only thing it had going for it was the scenery. I don't think we would return.
This is supposed to be the restaurant option for the King and Prince resort, but it might as well have been a roadside diner. Zero ambiance, very bright lighting, plus a candle on the table (why, with such bright lights?), no tablecloth, and very high prices. Although not crowded at all, it took a really long time to get our food, and the waiter seemed challenged to deal with even a few tables. There was a deconstructed Caesar salad (called a "knife and fork" salad) which was very bizarre --- a few limp romaine leaves, a smear of dressing, with a little pile of croutons, another pile of Parmesan cheese flakes, and three little pickled anchovies. Not quite sure how to make that into any sort of a bite. This was one of our most expensive meals and it was so unsatisfying that we resented it. We would have had a better experience eating in the bar...
Great food, service and atmosphere!
The food is great. The specials are set menus. Nice bar with live music. Great Oceanside sitting.
Earlier, our server, was a doll. We asked for cinnamon to be removed from our Echo doughnuts and she made it happen. Our omelettes were wonderful and our view of the beach was fantastic. Will gladly return.
Now one of our favorite places for dinner, just drinks, and a wonderful oceanfront vista.
Typical resort food at a hotel. Nothing special grouper was not good drinks terrible. Only thing is they are on water. Terrible Caesar Salad hard to screw that up
OK, not great. We were there after the lunch rush, and they clearly foisted some things on us that were definitely not fresh.
Food was great, view great. Out server looked like she got mad at because we said we’re not ready to order yet. Left a bad taste
We ask for outdoor seating facing the ocean for a friend with dementia. The host was very helpful and the server was very accommodating with everything. They both helped us move when it started to rain. The food was excellent and a pleasant experience for the guest viewing the beautiful ocean, most likely for the last time. Thank you K&P for your caring staff.
Service was very slow; pasta was overcooked, sauce watery; vegetables were unappetizing with little to no seasoning;
We had a great time with out of town guests. We wanted them to experience a true island outing.
Annie Akins was fabulous and added to our wonderful evening. Food and drinks, great as always.
Our family had a terrific meal last year at Echo and when we returned this year to SSI for vacation we wanted to return. This visit was not as successful. Our soup was not hot, and our bread pudding dessert was cold. We were disappointed.
Last night dinner for our annual girls trip. Lots of fun, great food, and friendly service. It's a must if you are on St.Simons.
The brunch today was lovely. Soup and pasta salad were great. The Eggs Benedict were perfect.
And on Sundays from twelve thirty to three they offer a fifteen dollar all you can drink mimosas or bloody Mary's with the purchase of an entree. We highly recommend this deal. And with a table overlooking the ocean it is wonderful.
The service very slow; lots of servers but sporadic service. And then we were served our soup & salad at the same time. Food & drink were excellent. Love the o eabside location.
