We tried Ecco based on other great reviews and weren’t disappointed. Great authentic Italian food, fast service. Just what we were looking for. Would absolutely go again.
Still the best after all these years! My favorite restaurant in Manhattan never disappoints.
While traveling, I was dining alone, Ecco was gracious and welcoming. And the food was great.
Disappointing level of service. We felt like we had to get the staff attention repeatedly throughout our meal for basics like taking our order. We wouldn’t return. Food was fine but nothing special and with the poor service there isn’t a need to ever go back, especially with so many other great NYC Italian restaurants
Great restaurant. Service attentive and prompt. Old school, they don’t make them like this any more. Perfect Italian -American food.
Ecco has been our go to for delicious food and great service for decades.
Have the spinach salad and the calamari. So good.
Restaurant very noisy so can’t talk and hear anything but food was delicious and service good
My wife and I have been to Ecco several times. The last visit was on a Wednesday night, a bit later in the evening than usual. The place was packed—and proportionally noisy. The after-work crowd was in charge. The food, however, was great and the service (seemingly by genuine Italian waitstaff) was surprisingly good considering the crowd. One of us had a tasty Italian-style lobster bisque and then we had two delicious veal dishes. No dessert after a hearty dinner, but we left with the intention to return soon.
Great food couldn’t have asked for more very accommodating wait staff.
This old-school Italian restaurant in the heart of Tribeca is a wonderful experience. The decor is classic dark wood, including mahogany booths; the waitstaff is helpful, cordial (and Italian!) and the food is absolutely delicious. We both had veal dishes - melt in your mouth scallopini - the Vitello a la Ecco with artichokes in a parmesan/cream sauce and the Vitello a la Marsala with sauteed wild mushrooms in a Marsala wine sauce. The side of sauted grated potato and onions was also delicious.
We will certainly return when we are in that part of the city again. A very enjoyable evening!
Service and food phenomenal. We loved the ambiance and attentive service. Expresso was superb. Will definitely come back when we visit NYC again.
Great old-New York neighborhood place. Perfect for a family gathering of one with good friends. Good for business meetings too.
Service was amazing. We had fresh mozzarella appetizer also prosciutto wrapped melon that was delicious for dinner the four of us had two different types of ravioli a chicken special that was amazing and pasta every dish was delicious and then we finished with cappuccino. I will come back again
I discovered Ecco during the summer of 2001 while working as an intern in the WTC. It has remained my favorite restaurant in NYC to this day. The service is impeccable and I’ve never had a bad meal there. The scampi is to die for!! Whenever I’m asked for a nyc restaurant recommendation, I always point people to Ecco. It’s the best hidden gem in NYC.
Fabulous in every way. We are never downtown so this was a treat. Food and service were excellent. The space was beautiful; old world but not stuffy. Our group of 8 all loved the experience. Thank you!
Always great. Never disappoints. Keep up the great food and tremendous service
Impeccable service. Lovely atmosphere. Delicious pasta.
Dinner and service were outstanding ! We would come back again the next time we are in the City
Enjoyable dining and good food. Ecco has been very reliable in providing good food and service.
Such a great place. So old Italian. Service was incredible. Food was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed.
My go to place..prices for specials can be very high priced though!
This is the best restauNt in NYC! The food is magnificent and the ambiance charming. The service is wonderful!
Delicious! Great portions in a friendly setting
Food was awesome and service was great.
We found our new favorite Italian restaurant! The best pasta that my wife and I ever had! Definately a five star restaurant. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and family.
The occasion was a friend’s birthday. There were four of us altogether. We had the burrata with prosciutto and peppers as an appetizer. For dinner, two of the group had lobster ravioli, one had eggplant Parmesan and the other had veal scallopini à la Pizziola. All of the meals were delicious. For dessert, the servers brought out cheesecake and Napoleon with a candle and sang happy birthday.
It was a totally enjoyable evening. Most of us had been to Ecco before, and this evening was just the type of experience that we expected. Great time!
Every member of the staff was personable, helpful, and polite.
Attentive staff, delicious grilled fish plate w large assortment of fish. Very generous portions. Particularly good tartuffo for desert. 1/2 block fr Chambers St subway, so very convenient. It has usually been reasonably quiet - great tables for 2 in small booths.
Love our old school Italian local. Great dark wood booths. Delicious straight up Italian fare.
Loved everything about it! Amazing food and an ambience that I remember as a NYC native this city once embodied!
Great meal, great service
Incredible is the only word you should use when you dine here!!
I have always loved Ecco and have been going there for years. The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant is beautiful. The food is very good but a bit overpriced.
Ecco never disappoints, it is simply the best. All I can say is go!
Service was outstanding, food was hot a delicious, wine was perfect. I thought the space was a little cramped, but the food was good enough for me to go back. I wanted to have the stracciatella soup but it was too warm in the restaurant for me to have a hot appetizer. Overall, I would recommend for old school Italian.
Deep in the bowels of Tribecca, this gem of an Italian neighborhood saloon is well worth the venture to downtown Tribecca. Traditional italian cuisine done at its best. Low key but friendly and efficient service together with an old world atmosphere is perfect for our "adult" crowd. We can't wait to go back.
Outstanding food and service. Thank goodness some things do not change!
Consistently exceptional food and service. Best in lower Manhattan!
Ecco is simply one of our personal favorites in NY.
The food and service is always spot on.
Great place to go for a date night. Was seated by the door and it blocked of the chatter from the back of the room. Waiters were very aware and genuiley cared about if the food or if the drink were good. Would definetly reccomend.
Excellent service at this Italian restaurant. We never had to wait for anything. The food was also very good. It is however a little loud
