Wonderful staff & food
Best veal Parm I have had in a long time. This place is very much “old nyc” which is great. It gets loud, but that’s part of the charm. Great service.
Love it!!!
One of the best Italian restaurants in Manhattan. Best veal ever. Try the stew!
The best Italian restaurant in Manhattan-always a fabulous meal and service!
I take everyone to Ecco when they come in from out of town. I’ve never had a bad meal there and the service and staff are top shelf. I’d recommend it to anyone.
Would definitely return. Service was exemplary and food was outstanding.
The food, service and ambience are outstanding. Really excellent restaurant with a great New York history. A little pricey but worth the money.
Accidental find and boy, did we luck out. Food was awesome and we had just returned from Italy. Thought we were back. Service was incredible.
The food were good as always. The service was good. The waiter was funny and he gave us dessert due to we go there every time when we visit New York
Fantastic food. And service — especially by Louis — was amazing !!!
Family reunion. Great atmosphere and service. Food was very good. Huge portions!
Great food, outstanding service. Will be going back for sure!
Very nice. Old school, high end red sauce. Wonderful authentic interior.
A piece of history. Much of the restaurant and Bar are 19th Century. Some carefully preserved. White table cloth, waiters in uniforms with ties, bartender white shirt, tie, fills the part.
Specials each day, pre fixed mid week lunch 3 course $28 in Manhattan! We would go again.
Still the best, the fish and veal cannot be beat. Reasonable wine prices are just an added extra!
Food is excellent, attentive service and overalls pleasant dining experience.
Love this restaurant! Food is terrific. The best veal chop in the city! Had it prepared “Marsala” - even better!
Excellent food and service consistently
Ecco remains some of the best Italian fare in NYC. Ecco is the ideal combination of "red sauce joint" and a fine dining experience. 20 years ago, there were few places to eat this well in the Financial District. Now there are, and I still choose Ecco. Excellent wine selection, generously poured cocktails, and specials that are truly special (we just had the dover sole, which was excellent, but the lamb osso buco is surely the winner). Menu staples include an outstanding bone-in veal chop (cotoletta) alla parmigiana, pasta dishes, and steaks. Old world service and attention to detail make Ecco an authentic dining experience. Plus there's cannoli.
The food was great and the service was excellent
I have been going here for 30 years. The place used to be fantastic, but now it is just tired. My wife ordered the Snapper special, it was old fish drenched in butter and garlic. Tasted so fishy that we just sent it back. My veil was thawed and plated, it tasted like styrofoam.
The BEST always
best italian foodand service in Tribeca. Ray the manager is amazing.
Good Italian food and attentive service.
Enjoyed a very nice dinner this evening with my wife. Restaurant was pleasantly busy and the staff seemed to handle it well; welcoming, attentive service. We split a caesar salad and had the shrimp/mushroom pasta and seafood pasta. Light marinara sauce was very tasty and pasta cooked al dente - excellent. Dessert was chocolate cake and we both really enjoyed the deep chocolate flavor and moistness.
We're visiting from out of town but will return on our next trip to NY!
My birthday
This was my third time to Ecco and it continues to impress. The food is fantastic and the service is superb. It is charming, comfortable and quiet enough to have a conversation with your friends.
While I've dined here for both business and pleasure, this event was business in nature. The staff recognized that and provided an uncrushed experience combined with the superb food and service that makes this establishment an absolute gem.
Good was great but too many Interruptions by waiters - can’t have a conversation without someone pouring more water or wine or removing plates.
Old world charm, top notch service, excellent wine selection, great food. Could not be more pleased.
Love the place
Great service and food and not the least bit pretentious. Old school in the best way.
The service was great. The waiter was very attentive and the service was quick. The food was very good and the dessert even better. We sat in a cozy table for two and with the way the tables are set up, we really didn't notice how many people were actually there until we left. If you want a high quality restaurant where you can escape the office for an hour and actually make it back in time, this is the place for you.
Great ambiance. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the super friendly service.
Excellent meal and waitstaff. We will visit again when we are in New York City!
They knew it was our anniversary at the end of the meal they brought us 2 glasses of champagne and biscotti which was delicious. We had a bottle of wine and they were always there to pour our glasses which were never empty. We love this restaurant
Great ambiance and fantastic service. The food was cooked perfectly and the wine was delicious.
Service was tremendous as was the food. Just what we were looking for. Super Italian food with great ambiance and service.
Great atmosphere, great service and the food was very good. Will definitely go to Ecco again. And have already recommended to friends.
We chose this place as it had pretty good reviews. Well that’s a lesson learned! We simply cannot believe they are not posting their own positive reviews after the fiasco of our meal.
My wife’s appetiser was disgusting. It was a shrimp cocktail. Basically 6 decent sized prawns served on ice, yes ice. The sauce was in a separate ramekin and turned out to be tomato ketchup, honestly it was .My Caesar was pretty good though.
The main then came out immediately. My wife had gnocchi in a pesto sauce. It was swimming in it and soggy. I had chicken with sausage and mushrooms. It was swimming in a disgusting sauce that for some reason had a rediculous of lemon in it. The side dish was cold and tasteless.
When I complained the manager on duty told me that shrimp cocktail should be served with tomato sauce. I asked him if he had ever had any formal trading, he simply stated how long he had worked there, but then asked me to write my complaints down to give to the owner! He would not acknowledge anything was wrong at all despite my asking him to try my food he refused.
This was, without exception,
the worst meal we have had in 10 years.
Someone had put that the food was the best in New York. I seriously doubt it but if it is I feel sorry for all New Yorkers and visitors!
If you want to me more disappointed than a bride whose husband falls asleep on their wedding night, go here, if not go anywhere else, even McDonalds.
