Went here while on a holiday weekend get-a-way. The entire experience was lovely -from the cocktail at the bar to the romantic and delicious dinner with amazing wine! The noise level did make it hard to hear at first but with the 8pm seating it quieted down as most ppl left. The atmosphere and ambience in this cute B&B restaurant was so special has me wanting to stay at the Virginia on my next Cape Map stay.
Our food was excellent! We loved our waiter he was very helpful when it came to deciding what food we should choose. Service was fast and we did not feel rushed to leave the restaurant once we finished our meal.
The food is good but the value is not equal. A dozen oysters for $40? Ridiculous. And it doesn’t say that on the menu. $36 for an entree of 4 scallops as well. Like I said, good food but not worth the price.
The Ebbitt room is a terrific restaurant for fine dining in Cape May plus they have great bartenders to make your wait to be seated enjoyable .
While a little pricey , it was worth it as the meal from start to finish was delicious ; Service
was excellent and while a bit noisy , it can be easily explained that everyone else was having a great time too .
April, our waiter was amazing.
Ebbitt Room is the best in Cape May!!! We love Leo, the bartender, he makes amazing cocktails. He makes my favorite cosmo in Cape May!! The dining room is beautiful and I love the piano in the background. We love Paul, my favorite pianist. Dinner was amazing. Just made another reservation to come back in two weeks. Patrick , the manager goes above and beyond to make sure your experience at the Ebbitt Room is exceptional. Thank u for a perfect night.
The Ebbitt Room is always a great experience! If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the small bar you're very lucky! The drinks are great, atmosphere wonderful and food delicious. I either get seafood or the chefs vegetarian. The vegetarian dish is always delicious and not an afterthought. My husband had the char and it was delicious . Desserts are also nice. My only complaint is that the coffee this last visit was only warm.
Valentine’s Day dinner! Perfect venue for this special occasion. Food was excellent and artfully presented. This special 4 course dinner provided ample choices to please most of not all palates. Looking forward to next special dining experience at this restaurant and B&B.
Always a good place to dine. A bit pricy, tables are close and the noise level is very high. Service is always very good. The piano bar is exceptional for drinks.
All in all avery good place for the area.
Their $ 35 pre fixe menu is absolutely worth it. Service is always spot on.
Great for a special occasion, on the expensive side.
Great food. Cheese board was wonderful. Surprised at how loud it was, very hard to talk. Service was great
Appetizers and main dishes were very good, ice cream was disappointing. The room was very noisy and we couldn’t hold a conversation across the table.
The food, the service, and the ambience was great! The deviled eggs and oysters were amazing. For entrees, I had the scallops with a side of brussel sprouts. My husband had the pork shank and a side of lobster mac & cheese (loaded with lobster!).
Not my first or even second time here and for good reason. The Ebbitt Room is a favorite and a stop we look forward to going to when staying at The Virginia House. Atmosphere is cozy and quaint with low lighting and quite conversation. The piano player on Friday and Saturday nights is the prefect compliment to the ambiance of the room.
The wine list isn't extensive or overcomplicated, but just right and paired perfectly for the meals served. Handcrafted cocktails are done with a level of sophistication not seen everyday anymore. As with the wine the beer selection is just right.
The meals prepared never disappoint and there is something for every palate. My particular favorite is the Tuna Tar-Tar. Served rare you will be greatly surprised. Obviously being a beach Hotel and Restaurant there is heavy bias tword the seafood selections, but you would be limiting yourself if you didn't order one of the meat selections.
Not to limit this to just The Ebbitt Room our stay in The Virginia House is something we look forward to every year. A constant favorite with cozy intimate rooms that just add to the allure of The Ebbitt Room.
I couldn't think of recommending any other Hotel and Restaurant in Cape May.
I am counting down the days until our next trip back.
