My husband and I had a late night snack here two years in a row, and decided it was time for a full course dinner. The server was attentive, the meal absolutely delicious. Afterwards, we headed over to the bar and had another appetizer, the oyster special served that night. Five stars from the two of us! Highly recommend!

Excellent service and nice ambiance. Chicken special was OK. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic given reputation of restaurant.

We could only afford to eat here since it was restaurant week and they offered 3 courses for $35 per person. It was delicious. Such a lovely place inside a beautiful cape may hotel from the days of old. The deviled eggs appetizer where the chef mixes up different toppings and offers 3 on any evening was one of the most creative and delectable appetizers I've had. Salad was very fresh with ingredients sourced locally. I had the skate which was cooked perfectly with a roulanade while my husband had the flat iron steak he found mouthwatering. For dessert, the mixed berry crumble was awesome and the chocolate mousse made with some delicious chocolate. As a plus, they have a beautiful porch with ample seating and bar service so we sat out there after for some after dinner coffees.

Fantastic food - loved all the fresh ingredients. Service was outstanding as was the atmosphere. The room is a little loud and the lighting dim, so may not be the best for older folks, but was otherwise fantastic. I especially enjoyed the cheese board - next time I’ll get the charcuterie board too! Highly recommend the Ebbitt Room!

Steer clear of the Ebbitt Room -- this restaurant was SUCH a disappointment. We reserved the Ebbitt Room for my cousin's 50th birthday celebration. 3 our of 4 of the main courses had to be sent back (all got rare cook meat; when the ask was for medium, medium well and well). One of those three had to be sent back a second time and took so long to return that everyone had already finishing their meals (or what we would eat of it)! The manager did comp my sister's 3x cooked steak, but the evening irritating instead of the celebration it should have been. Honestly, if the "chef" doesn't know how to cook to the guests requests, then it's take to hang up his/her apron. On top of that, the quality of the flat iron steaks/filet that we all received was not good. We reserved in March when we made the birthday celebration plans and before restaurant week was announced. Honestly, even at restaurant week prices, it was overpriced. Really a shame -- not sure what all the hype is for this place, but I would not recommend to anyone and not a chance that I would return.

We were taking advantage of restaurant week and found other restaurants more to our liking. The atmosphere has a nice ambiance. $12.00 cocktails is a little pricey. the menu is limited and the preparation was not our usual preferences. We dine out regularly and for years. We accept that the restaurants at the shore are generally pricey but do prefer a menu more to our taste.

I got married 2 days before my new husband and I went to dinner at the Ebbitt Room. I made a note that we had just got married when I made the reservation. We were really looking forward to a nice night out, and our experience was "lukewarm." We both liked our food, but we felt the prices were too high. Even with the Restaurant Week menu, I was surprised by how high the bill was. We mentioned to our waiter that we had just gotten married, and the restaurant did not do anything to recognize that we were on our honeymoon. We left with a sour taste in our mouths. We were so excited to eat there and I had heard how good the food is, and we were just both very disappointed.

Cocktails, pork belly, oysters, branzio, and skate were delicious.

Our issues were that we had to ask for a server after waiting awhile; and, also the room is awful - no longer pretty, looks like a barn now and so loud. Since the room was opened to the bar area, the entire room is too loud. Previously, it was a beautifully decorated room (just like you envision a romantic Cape May dining room) and it was quiet and you could hear the piano music. Now, it is so loud, it is very difficult to converse during dinner. Thank goodness, our food was delicious because I would go to another quieter restaurant in Cape May.

My husband and I have had the opportunity to eat at the Ebbitt Room a few times. We love the outside dining but this past weekend we ate inside with family members. The food was outstanding; starting with the deviled egg appetizer. My husband had the pork chop which he said was one of the best he ever had. The service was impeccable; drinks were made well with top shelf liquor and the ambiance was quiet and elegant. I would highly recommend for a special occasion when in Cape May...can't wait to go back again; hopefully sooner than later!

Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Ebbitt room. The service was excellent, from the hostess to our servers and the waitress. Food was fantastic. I had the diver scallop (one of the specials of the day), which was delicious. My wife had the prawns and she loved them. The cheese plate had a good spread and they were nice enough to accommodate us since my wife is pregnant and cant have soft cheeses. The dessert was also fantastic, we had the apple cider crème brulee. The ambiance is very romantic. All in all a great experience and we will definitely go back on our next cape may visit.

Our first time here and it was quite disappointing. Service was very attentive. Lobster Caesar salads were average, nothing spectacular. Grilled oysters???? Where were the oysters?? There was a few "pieces " of oyster buried under a bit of cheese. Awful!!! We had Prawns which were served NOT de-veined. Now to charge me 38.00 for 3 Prawns is bad enough but to serve them still with the vein is horrible. Now let's talk about the chicken. The fatty bone-in chicken with no taste. If I'm expected to sift through a fatty piece of bone-in chicken, please turn the lights on so I can see what the hell im eating. In short...a below average restaurant trying to pass themselves off as up scale. Oh, forgot to mention the leaky ceiling in the dining room where we had to move our table several times. One and done....sorry!!!!!!

Restaurant located in old Virginia Hotel. Tables very close together and all in all quite noisy considering it was only half full on a Monday night. Food was good but totally a la carte and definitely on the pricey side. My steak was very good but $48 plus $14 glass of wine.

When I made reservation I indicated that it was our 32 nd wedding anniversary. When we got there they saw our name on reservation list and we were seated. Waiter was polite. People seated after us were celebrating too and received 2 glasses of champagne. Not one table but a few. Why were we not acknowledged? I didn’t mention because I thought they would have looked at reservation.

Only one vegetarian choice (polenta). Almost every dish had meat, even the apps. Scallops were served cool/lukewarm and I had to send back to heat. Devilled eggs appetizer was good, beets were excellent, brussels sprouts were pretty charred.
