E.B. Green's Steakhouse - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
This has been my favorite restaurant for over 20 years. The food is always outstanding and the staff is so helpful and welcoming. I always request Julia as my server, she is amazing and very attentive and friendly, one of the reason I always come back. I am so very sad to hear that you are closing.
Dinner at EB Greens was a Sisters night out. I had read that it was closing and we decided to have one last steak at one of the staples of Buffalo. Although it was a little loud, I chalked it up to ppl feeling a little nostalgic. The filet mignon sliced like butter and was done as rare as I like it, real mashed potatoes were creamy, the creme brûlée was delicious and presented exquisitely . The meal was about $75 dollars drink and salad included (not tip). Our waiter was good but a little quirky, nonetheless I'm glad Sis and I got the opportunity to share memories, wish EB was here a little longer. So long old friend.
EB Greens is always wonderful! This beautiful restaurant for years has been my favorite. And will be missed! Brandy, EB Greens Manager, has made every experience unforgettable. To all the staff, Emily, Candy, Lisa, Jim, Jocko, etc. have made every dining experience personal and special. This closing of this steak house is sad. My food experience from Steak to Seafood has been nothing but perfect....every single time! I am looking forward to seeing the same staff at Morton's soon. Until then....
Hands down the best in Buffalo , NY The Food is the best quality, and the chefs know how to prepare a great steak the right way. The staff is wonderful, and all of our requests were more than taken care of. They went above and beyond to ensure a great experience!
Great food, great service, nice ambience and very saddened that EB GREENS is being replaced by a chain. We've celebrated many special occasions at this restaurant including our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner and several birthdays and anniversaries. Jackie Jocko will be sorely missed and we wish him good health and happiness in the future.
I ordered a filet mignon and asked for it to be butterflied so it could be cooked in the center with no pink in the meat. well guess what it was pink in the center and if I had 2 bites of the meat it was a lot . I did take the steak home with me and had to cook it better. we did not say anything to our server because I don't think it would have mattered. we did end up staying a little longer than we expected and when our server left for the evening she never even told us that she was leaving for the night. for 7 people she received over $80.00 and never said thank you. amazing. We are also not happy about this local business being sold to an out of town restaurant.
Not too happy... Went out for Valentine's Day. Mood was beautiful and romantic and had live piano music. But our reservation was for 8:30pm. We sat down around 8:40 but we did not get our food until after 10:30! The manager was wonderful and gave us a free cake which was very sweet of her. Also, my brother paid with his credit card and left a cash tip. But to his surprise, he opens his credit card statement and sees that he was charged a 20% tip on his card which he had already paid. I will not be going back.
It was great! I loved the piano music. We went on Valentine's Day and it was very romantic. We had to wait a while although we made reservations weeks before but in the end it was definitely worth it. Great waitress. Great food. I definitely would recommend to all family and friends! Will be back again someday!
I know this restaurant is closing very soon....but we wanted to experience this Buffalo Land Mark before it did. We were so excited to spend our Valentine's evening at EB Greens. We waited about 45 minutes after our reservation time, as the 'kitchen was backed up' according to the hostess. We didn't mind: we had a nice drink at the bar and listen to the wonderful piano player. After being seated (unfortunately we couldn't hear the music any longer in the back room) the waitress was wonderful, pleasant and explained the menu! We ordered a coconut shrimp appetizer and bottle of wine which came out promptly and tasted wonderful. But there was obviously an issue in the kitchen and our mains. Other tables were seated after us, ate and left, before we got out food. Once received our tenderloin and prime rib was so over cooked, is wasn't edible. The waitress noticed before we even bit into it. My Yorkshire pudding was so hard, I couldn't even saw through it with my steak knife. We didn't want to wait again to reorder, so we just nibbled on what was edible and left. The waitress took off one of our meals off of the bill and give us a dessert to take home. Because the waitress was so proactive and pleasant, I would try again. I don't see how they could be rated the #1 steak house in American.....not even close. I'll be anxious to see how the new place does.
Typically we love this place. The food value is great considering a salad and potato are included with the price of the entree. The wedge salad was great. Hash browns were probably made the day before and left to get really hard and brown but not burnt. Should have sent them back. The enormous prime rib for two was a lot of food. The cut included the bone. I will admit the meat was tougher than I thought it would be. We have had better. But not giving up.
My only complaint is we had one small fly visit our table several times. Odd for February. Our table was next to a wall and it was obvious the wall hadn't been wiped off for several meals, not to the point of being gross but noticeable.
Food was absolutely delicious.
