Eats Ratings and Reviews
We were in NYC for a long weekend (early Valentines present) and had a wonderful time exploring places neither one of us had been over the last 50 years. We had a great meal at Eats! Fabulous special on oysters - one dozen plus a martini for $15! It was a tiny bit crowded and a bit noisy for us but a lot of fun and great food. I had pumpkin gnocci for my meal. My husband had the oyster special and excellent burger. We will definitely go back.
The waiters, hostess and general restaurant staff was amiable and very helpful. They explained the entrees, allowed us to substitute side dishes. We had a free range chicken, skirt steak , hamburger, branzini, sweet potato fries, bok Chou as a side dish and a delicious kale salad. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The cheesecake for dessert was scrumptious! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very welcoming. We were late for our reservation because of heavy traffic but it wasn't a problem. The staff was great. Drinks were excellent and the food was very good. Large portions and tasty! I would certainly go back again and recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful corner bistro.
Burgers were excellent.
My pbm was with service. The waiter was less than attentive. The place was not crowded (Sunday evening)
When I paid my bill, he neglected to return my credit card. I saw it inserted in the reader.
Couldn't find him, so I retrieved it as I left.
The final pbm was I noticed I was charged for an appetizer I didn't order.
Unfortunately for me I looked after I got home and the round trip taxi back would have exceeded the erroneous charge....
Good value. Attentive service. Custom salads (I wanted no cheese, my companion wanted neither cheese nor beets, and both salads arrived perfectly). We couldn't have a conversation without leaning way over thr table and speaking loudly, and this was at 5:30, 6:00 at night. Were people at the bar from lunch? I like the food and service but I will remember the ambiance and choose differently next time for a quiet get-together.
We decided to eat ar EATS restaurant while in New York City celebrating my wife's birthday.
I must say we were pleasantly surprise with the service and the food. We were immediately seated, followed by an attentive server, Benjamin, who saw to our needs. We began with an appetizer of oysters on the half shell followed by entrees of sea bass, which my wife is still raving about and a succelent cornish hen served on a bed of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. That with a lively atmosphere presented for a most enjoyable evening.
I was sad to see the place didn't live up to my hopes. I had seen the other reviews and thought it would be a nice place for a casual birthday for my mother. The hostess was very pleasant. The server, however, seemed unfamiliar with working in a restaurant. Another server was able to take control of the table. The oysters and clams were fresh and delicious. The steak tartare was quite good. The steak was so-so. The short ribs were amazing and huge portion. Mashed potatoes were bland and thin. It was a slow night, and food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. Ordered one of their most expensive bottles of wine- they didn't have proper glassware for it. Certainly not the worst experience of my life, but no need to go back
