EATS Kitchen & Bar @ Hotel Irvine
Now, on to the menu. Think comfort food with a creative culinary twist. Killer burgers, regional faves with our own distinctive flair, shared plates to be enjoyed by all (or one). It's all affordably priced and very regulars-friendly.
Did we mention breakfast, lunch and dinner are served? Well, we just did.
Loved the Sunday brunch. Bottomless mimosas for a really decent price. Food was FANTASTIC. Servers were friendly. Ambience was chic, well-lit and roomy. Loved the whole experience. Will definitely be back.
Just happened across EATS when we were in Irvine and couldn't have been happier with our find! Zia, our server was incredible and the ambiance & food wonderful! I would definitely recommend this place to friends & family. A nice surprise also, their MIMOSA Bar!! :)
The food is great as usual, but the service level was not as good as how I usually get. Even it’s a busy night, but the lack of detail of basic service from this waitress is really disappointing. Her service skill is only good for a fast food restaurant! Other people have to help her a lot. I wonder why my party of 6 is assigned to such a terrible waitress while there were at least two very good waitress and waiter who had provided services to me in the past on the same shift. She never offered refill on the water nor soft drinks unless we asked her. Never offered the desert until we requested, and of course she never mentioned about any coffee nor tea to go with our desert. I thought these are the basic for a restaurant wait staffs. Very disappointed service!
While in the OC this weekend we decided to get a table at Eats. This was our first time but after a long day at South Coast Plaza, we wanted to try something that wasn't necessarily at or directly around our hotel. We knew it was a part of the Irvine Hotel because of Yelp but decided to give it a try because it was in the vicinity of a hotel that we stayed at in Newport Beach awhile back. We were glad that we came here because it was worth trying.
When we arrived, we found that there was parking separate from the hotel specifically for the restaurant. I believe that it is free with validation. We walked through a hall where there was a 50th birthday party in one room and a large wedding while en route to Eats Kitchen. I can admit that if I was dressed for it, I souks have cracked the wedding because their food smelled and looked so good. We headed to Eats and it was open and welcoming with a circular bar and a small wall that divides it from the dining area. It was located right by the lobby.
We were seated and because of our hunger, we had to start with their house bread and truffle mac and cheese. It was delicious. It was so soft and flavorful that the butter wasn't even necessary to me. The menu is small but they had a nice variety of American comfort foods. Our server was nice and accommodating in our experience.
I ordered a delicious Anti-Burger which is basically a veggie burger and my girl had an Eats Burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our selections and after eating all of those carbs with our appetizers maybe we should have passed on the fries but of course, we didn't. The fries and aiolis were excellent and the overall meal was as well.
I’d definitely recommend you give this place a try if you're in the area and enjoy.
My waiter was very polite and attentive. He knows how everything was prepared and you can see he enjoys his job and loves to take care of people.
Excellent dining experience!
Excellent service! Food took a bit of time but our waitress was super sweet and attentive.
We ordered the Tuscan kale chicken salad and the shrimp, citrus and avocado salad. They were both delicious and good portions.
We also ordered the MARGHERITA THIN-CRUST PIZZA to share and this was a small flat bread instead of a normal thin crust pizza. It was not enough to really fill you up, even with the salads. I would recommend you order your own pizza unless you are getting an entree also.
Our server was wonderful! He was so attentive and super sweet! The food was delicious, but he made it even more special. Even though there were just 5 of us, he made us feel so important!
It was a comfortable breakfast except the noise level, which was somewhat distracting.
Food was good! Service good! Enjoyed it!
We had a great Saturday brunch at EATS. Everyone in my group loved their meal and our sever was great. It wasn't busy at all so there was plenty of open seating. The outside patio is really nice with heaters too. The chicken and waffles was amazing as well as the Avocado toast.
Great place to eat. The ambience is great for a group.
Being in the restaurant industry and paying close to $400 for 3 kids and 2 adults I would’ve expected better food and service. The food was cold, there wasn’t any
Gravy and I had to
Continue to get up to ask for our water and juice to be filled. If I’m paying this amount I’d expect
A lot more. Waste of money and very very disappointed
Sat outside, very nice patio. Service and good impeccable as usual.
This was my second visit to this restaurant and the food and service were fantastic. Loved the Portobello mushroom burger with the sweet chutney! Our server recommended it and it was great.
Wonderful surprise- and the mimosa bar is a great idea!
Dinning experience was great. Food was tasty, and server was excellent as well. This is my second time dining here, this never disappointed me. My kids love this restaurant, and we’ll definitely going back.
Food consistently good. Service wasn’t as good as our last visit. Messed up on our bill and finally got it right after two times.
Great food, we had the scallops, citrus shrimp salad and margherita pizza and all were delicious. the drinks are just OK, my old fashioned wasn't very good.
The restaurant does not have a huge menu, but enough variety to suit us. The food we tried were all yummy. I would give the place 5 stars except that we were left in a 2/3 empty place for more than 10 minutes with no one serving us. We finally caught attention of a waitress and She graciously served us and she was very attentive.
Excellent meal and service, very attentive but not overbearing. Great value! Highly recommend!
Food was good, but the service was poor. Our server was gone most of the time so service was extremely slow.
Would like to see you work on desert selection. My waitress is super nice to me and my 10 years old dog daughter. Thank you!
I have been wanting to get to EATS for a while now as it comes up in my Open Table and Yelp searches a lot. Finally got the opportunity a couple of days back. In a word it was average. The food was not bad but it was not anything special either. With the good ratings it gets I was a little surprised at the overly experience. Everything on the menu is under 30$. I had the Scallops with roasted cauliflower / spanish chorizo / roasted red pepper romesco at $22. The scallops were well cooked but the chorizo and cauliflowers was a disjointed paring. Chunks of cauliflower and chunks of chorizo with nothing tying the pair together. My girlfriend has the Braised short ribs with roasted carrots and mashed potatoes. This dish was better executed and the portion was of a descent size. The short ribs were moist and the sauce was flavorful. Service was just so so. Overall if you needed a place to have a business meeting without breaking the bank you could come here. It is located inside the Irvine Hotel and there is a bar surrounding the inside seating area of EATS. Probably won't go back as there are better places within two or three blocks of this restaurant. The do validate the valet service for dining there.
Great experience! Excellent food! The scallops are amazing!
Our server, Michelle, was very welcoming and accommodating. She made our family get together extra enjoyable and memorable. We always love their happy hour drinks and eats and we are looking forwarding to going back again soon.
Don’t go there. Overpriced. Cold. Bad.
While the buffet is a good value, all of the hot dishes (eggs and potatoes) were cold, and not replenished during my time there.
Always good food and great mtg place
Well, I read an add with a picture of this place. pancakes with strawberries on top then an amazing rose slushy with a rose wine bottle in the background. this is why we had a friends birthday celebration there. We get out to the patio and many of the tables are sitting dirty with old meals from customers that had left. Big black crows were eating off the plates. Ugh! I asked the server about the slushies as they weren't on the menu. He didn't know about them. Doesn't offer to find out about them. he disappears and we don't see him for 20 minutes. He forgets the comp banana bread ( tasted good) that we finally got from another server. A hostess gal comes by and we say we need our server to order. I ask her about the slushies and she says oh, that ended last week. Can you make us one perhaps? No, the machine is back in storage ( understand that) we order then wait again quite a while for meal. I comes, but no syrup for the French toast, unusual type jelly for the e. muffin and no small plates for the b. bread when first brought. we just had to work way too hard to get our meal . We finally get another server to bring our bill. Who knows what happened to ours. We wont be back for sure.
I would like to clarify the 2 stars for service. Our server was great when he was able got around to us. It was understaffed for Sunday brunch.
Eats has an excellent menu. Very essential. The wine list for happy hour has variety. I had the pizza (which is really more of a flatbread) with pear & Gorgonzola. Delicious! Junior is an excellent server, very attentive with a good sense of humor. I’ll request him again.
Food was good, atmosphere was nice, mimosas were delicious, and the service was nice, but it was SO slow. Overall, things were fine, it was nice, but the service was just too slow.
Weather was beautiful so we sat outside by the large fire pit. Very nice outdoor area. Unfortunately did not get the name of our server but he was amazing. It was so refreshing to have someone do their job so well without being overbearing. He also provided great suggestions for wine and dessert.
We started with the grilled Castroville artichoke. Great smoky flavor but typical artichoke, difficult to eat and not worth the trouble. No fault of the restaurant, that's just artichokes. In hindsight would not have ordered. I had the Portobello Burger and it was very very good. Very flavorful and moist. No dry Portobello here! We will definitely return.
This is my second time eating here. The first time was a throw the dart on the map type of situation with some friends. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much, I came back again with just my husband to experience the live music. It was another great time. It was later in the evening, so we were able to have a romantic date with the music and the lighting.
Our server charged us full price for happy hour drinks
Great place to go - went here on a whim. We found this great restaurant by looking up new places to go on Opentable. Love the Blackberry Mule and Marmalade Old Fashioned drinks. Food of choice is Roasted Corn cotija cheese / citrus chili ailoi, EATS Fries garlic / herbs / parmesan, Steak Wedge grilled sirloin / pancetta / tomatoes / capers / picked red onions / chives / blue cheese dressing and last item Pear & Gorgozola thin crust pizza pears / caramelized onions / gorgonzola cheese / arugula / balsamic reduction. In the lobby of a totally trendy Hotel Irvine.
NICE SETTINIG OVERLOOKING THE GARDEN, VERY INTRIGUING MENU MADE SELECTION DIFFICULT all the salads looked intesting. I had the kale chicken salad with a great dressing and very tasty; my guest had the salmon salad perfectly cooked.
Lackluster service. Meal arrived 15 minutes after my father and 3 year old son’s meal. The best that I got was a - “sorry about that, do you want a to-go box (to eat your $30 steak in your hotel room)?” Unacceptable in my opinion. The food quality was quite good though.
Brought my wife and daughter to celebrate Mother’s Day. The food was great and the server very pleasant. Will definitely visit again.
