Fit for a Feast
A well-curated menu with enough choice for everyone! We were a table of 4 and we all ordered something different. The NY Strip steak was some of the best I've tasted in a while, and so were the lamb chops. Seasonal vegetable pairings. Portion sizes are just right. Great selection of oysters added a nice touch to the appetizer menu. Caramel ice cream desert stole the show, but the carrot cake and cannoli options were great too. Wine list by the glass is slightly limited in white, but good on Reds. Service is good and not overly attentive. Would recommend this restaurant with confidence -- they know what they are doing!
This was an excellent dining experience. We will return in a heartbeat.
Second time visited and will surely return! Brought adult family.
We're local and this was our first time dining at Eat on North. We had the crab cake appetizer, ribeye steak, and lamb chops. The food was amazing. Our waitress was attentive, kind, personable, and funny. The dining room wasn't too busy. It was quiet and relaxing. It was a wonderful night out in downtown Pittsfield.
This is probably the nicest restaurant in downtown Pittsfield if you want a great menu, good, fresh food and a relaxing ambiance. After eating here on several occasions, I have nothing but good things to say about the food - generous portions and delicious. The service, though extremely friendly, has been consistently slow. I don't know if it is the kitchen that is slow, if it is understaffing, or if it is just a very inefficient operation, but it is best to plan for a leisurely meal and avoid going if you are in a rush.
Went for breakfast and the food was outstanding! Even though the staff was short staffed the day we went, our server was terrific and very responsive. Highly recommend.
This is a restaurant in a hotel in Pittsfield, MA. Staff was very friendly. Our cocktails very generous. Visited on a Tuesday evening. -Taco Tuesday. 2 tacos (this night was chicken) and rice for $9.00. Pretty bland. All it needed was a few sprigs of cilantro to make the tacos a bit tastier. Sausage (spicey) pizza was good. I'd call this place so-so.
After several years as hotel guests, we purchased a home in the neighborhood. We love meeting friends old and new at Eat on North. The many veggie options and the friendly, attentive service make EAT a frequent destination.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing with a cool, modern vibe. Loved it!
ELEGANT FRIENDLY RESTAURANT WITH A LIMITED MENU.
EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR PRETHEATRE DINNER
STREET PARKING AVAILABLE
Delicious food, warm & engaging waitstaff, a fantastic find in Pittsfield in the same building as Hotel on North which is also amazing. Seriously good food, clean, nice atmosphere.
Service is accommodating and friendly. The food presentation is remarkable and tasty.
Dined Saturday night with a total of 6 guests. Haley was our server. Shes the BEST! Food is always Amazing. Loved the deviled eggs and my Sausage risotto was delicious. We we will be back!
We breakfast each month throughout the county and this is one of our favorites.
A great meal. Being vegan isn't always easy. The chef came out, asked me what I was looking for and went back a crafted a vegan masterpiece!
Crab cake appetizer outstanding. Pork chop entree good. Steaks were “eh” - the red potato smash accompaniment was extremely unappetizing. Raw bar was chintzy. When oysters are that tiny, maybe put 15 on the plate instead of a dozen?
Perfect after theater dining. Drinks were perfect and service was very good
The food was great, the service attentive and the atmosphere amenable to conversation--until the band started playing. Then, conversation became almost impossible. My dinner companions and I clumped together so we could hear each other, but it was frustrating.
Birthday dinner. Great food.
eat on North provided a great couples get-together venue despite the fact theater-goers had nearly filled the restaurant after a play. The food was excellent and service good. More servers needed. Our Faroe Island salmon dish was delicious with its beet farro accompaniement, pasta bolonese remarkable! Good wine voices and nice contemporary ambiance. Highly recommended!
Good, but we missed the fried chicken you had last year!
Service was much too slow, although the waitress was delightful and seemed to be doing her best.
Our meal was delicious. Our server Kady provided excellent service at our dinner. Totally recommend the devil eggs, tomato bisque and meatloaf. Bread was wonderful with perfectly salted butter. I need to say (despite may negative comments) our server during dinner was fantastic. However, we ordered a cocktail at the bar before dinner and that service was a bit suspect. Also, we went Sunday night after a great Tanglewood concert and probably a much slower/lower demand. Food was excellent anyway you slice it!
Overall pretty good. Service was good, ambience good, most of meals good, duck was extremely overdone
We have been going to Eat on North often in the last few months, and it's been consistently good. We love their pork and duck, the bread is from Berkshire Mountain Bakery, so of course it's great, and the cakes are from Mary's around the corner and wonderful. Doesn't get more local or fresher than this, and it's a good place to sit and chat with friends.
We had an excellent experience at Eat on North. Sunday evening in August. 7:30 PM. Myself and my wife. Excellent comfort menu with well-prepared dishes and ample portions. (We had the pasta bolognese and a cheeseburger on top of a Caesar salad for our entrees.) Bread and butter were both homemade and delicious. Service was kind and attentive. Water glasses were kept filled (it had been a warm day). Pacing was a little slow (we were there for over 90 minutes), but we weren’t in a hurry and were enjoying one another’s company. Tables spaced very comfortably apart, so no one was forced to hear another table’s conversation. Nice selection of wines and beers. Prices were very fair given the quality of the food and the portions. We will definitely return when in the area.
A wonderful find! The staff sparkled with positive energy and smiles! The food was well prepared & presented with plenty of options. They were willing to make changes to our requests, which some restaurants refuse to do. The ambiance of the space was great, clean lines & pleasant. Definitely will return to try other dishes.
Loved the vibe of this spot. Food was very good. Service was OK, not great.
Nice space food was very good friendly service although we had a variety of servers during the meal. Felt a little rushed at the end, like they were trying to reset our area of the dining room for the next day.
All of the food was excellent, but the oysters and mussels were especially good
The food was excellent and well worth the price. We loved the fact they use locally sourced products as often as possible. The menu had something for everyone. All four of us were very pleased with our meals.
Careful, attentive service. Beet soup was tasty. Would eat there again.
DELICIOUS! Great pre or post theater dining experience.
Very happy with our visit here! Even though there were several people dining, it still felt very cozy and both my wife and I enjoyed our meal! A little on the pricey side but not unexpected.
excellent restaurant in the Berkshires - good food, wine & service
Waitress was terrible. Forgot she had taken our order. I ordered fish and chips and asked to omit coleslaw...it was served anyway on plate. My friend ordered beet salad with shrimp and asked not to put cucumbers on the salad... they arrived on the salad. Drinks came after we were served dinner.
Dessert order was given I asked for 2 scoops of vanilla and 1 scoop of chocolate. I received 2 chocolate and one vanilla.
I will never dine there again
It's nice to see Pittsfield gaining some high-tone restaurants, but let's hope that this place either improves its service and its value ratio or departs to leave room for some new candidates.
We came here with family members. We were all tired and a little fussy, annoyed by recent disappointing restaurant meals. This was a lovely evening that did much to raise our spirits. Everything was very nicely done. Delicious bread, oysters, crabcake, salads. The roasted garlic and cheese plate was a standout! Great beer and wine menus as well. Very nice atmosphere, intimate but spacious. Music is pleasant and quiet. The one negative is that North street is not very pleasant, but it is close to the theater, so that's a plus.
Wonderful setting in Pittsfield. Service was great. Food was delicious and unexpected as the quality and presentation was high-end. A new favorite stop on our trips to Berkshires events.
Food is really good. I am particularly fond on the pork tenderloin. Sides are delicious. Portions are ample.
Service needs work. We had to ask for bread and our waitress kept disappearing.
