We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner - we shared the rockfish special, as well as a pistachio encrusted goat cheese salad & the truffled scallops appetizer. All 3 we're amazing, & our waitress was enthusiastic & efficient.
Whenever we visit Virginia Beach, we make sure to have reservations at Eat. The service and food were excellent again. We have never been disappointed!
Eat has become our favorite restaurant. We probably dine out . . . 3 or 4 times every week, and when we host company (often from out-of-town), Eat usually becomes our guests' favorite restaurant, too! While we love most of the menu items, the specials are so wonderful that we can simply order off the board. So we try to arrive early - to make sure the specials are still available!
Awesome food!
Great food
5 in our party for celebration. Service very efficient. Crab and Clam soup excellent. All in all a wonderful first time experience
A perfect dining experience. Informed and educated wait staff, delicious local specials, great desserts. Perfect for a great conversation and a 2-bottle of wine dinner that ends up lasting 2 hours.
Dinner with a colleague at one of my favorite restaurants in Virginia Beach! We shared the chicken Shiitake mushrooms popstickers which were fantastic! Ordered the oyster stew and rice paper flounder with spinach coconut curry broth and both were delicious!
The chef has an amazing palate. Every dish was thoughtful, flavorful and elegantly presented. It's rare that we leave a restaurant without finding that one thing that is lacking, but this is one of those rare moments. The waitress described the dishes like they were fine art, and they were. Every recommendation was spot on. Out best VA Beach foodie experience thus far. From the crispy brussle sprouts, to the Fire and Ice, the basil fed escargot and bone marrow in their "Ants on a Log", the Perfectly cooked Pork Chop, the raw and Rockefeller oysters, we loved it all!!! If you're in VA Beach, Eat is a must!
Absolutely beautiful plating of delicious, carefully prepared food. Good variety on menu.
The service is great and if you haven't been for a few years, service has improved incrementally. It is obvious the chef cares about his menu, its variety and how he presents it. The desserts are worth the price of admission...chocolate to melt in your mouth, and a caramel-- ginger cake in a glass that is unforgettable and will have you running back for more!
This place was so good! The food was amazing, as well as the drinks. Best dinner I'd had in a long time, especially the octopus!
Are you kidding me???
Absolutely terrific. Interesting and comprehensive menu, yet not too broad. We shared the Cobi Special and it was amazing. The oysters were fresh the "fire and ice " (tuna tatami)was as yummy as it was gorgeous, and even the simplest of our appetizers (meatballs) was on point. Great wine menu and the server could not be beat! I wish I could recall her name. I highly recommend. Wish we could have a similar spot in Lancaster PA!
What a wonderful surprise! We have passed by this place many times without giving it a second look. While on a run, I happened to stop and read the menu posted on the door and we decided to give it a try. Everything was outstanding! The Tangier oysters on the half shell were perfect, the kale Caesar with homemade croutons was delicious, the halibut special was creative and beautifully prepared, and our server was superb. We will return!
Great service, good dinner-will return
Go for the food a must do for every foodie. The service is not bad either. The black board needs definite attention, showing off Chef Eric’s innovative style
Great food, fantastic service, cozy comfortable place. Never disappointed.
The food was phenomenal! I ordered the filet with truffle mash and brussel sprouts...mmmm, heavenly!
The only complaint we had was we were seated by the back door that leads to the bathroom. It was cold outside so every time the door opened we were freezing. Unfortunately it detracted pretty significantly from the overall experience because people were going to the bathroom all night.
Great overall.
We love Eat!! Except parking is sometimes a problem. My husband loves the paella which they did as special one evening. With 48 hours notice they will prepare it for you specially. It was an almost last minute decision to go there with our son and his wife and with only hours notice they made the dish for him. That’s exceptional service.
goat cheese salad and oyster stew were delicious. scallops with fried rice was salty and bitter--would not order again. selections on winter menu seemed pretty limited
We had a lovely meal with friends and will be back!
Good food, great service. Jet noise may be a problem for some.
Food was great exce
Exceptional. Food was five star quality (just as good as many 5 star restaurants I have visited). Server was wonderful as well; offered many recommendations and was down to earth. The food. Wow. Presentation, texture and taste was awesome. We had a lot! Ordered: ants on a log, scallops, octopus, pountine and the duck special. Everything was delicious. Perfectly cooked and flavored. We will certainly be back. Worth every penny and then some. Compliments to this restaurant and chef!
I love whenever we get the chance to go to Eat. Awesome food and such a relaxed vibe.
A favorite neighborhood dining spot. Seasonal menu changes take advantage of farm to table offerings of local products. Wide variety of meals and small plates. Good wine menu, friendly and helpful wait staff and great ambiance.
Met with friends. Great!!
Wow! We were very impressed with everything. The atmosphere, the food, the service!!! We will absolutely return.
Great food, as always!
Everything about the experience at EAT was amazing. We had a great table, the martini’s were delicious and not
skimpy on the alcohol. The appetizers were tasty with good portion sizes. The presentation of our dinners was wonderful. The only negative thing was that it would have been better if all of the entrees had come to the table at the same time. The espresso martini was amazing, the creme brûlée was smooth. We will definitely be back.
It was for my daughters birthday. Wait staff was very helpful and our meal was incredible in both presentation and taste
Eat always surprises me. Between visits I forget that the food is always fun and creative, and the bar offers good and thoughtful drinks.
The beer list is just long enough to offer plenty of good options without being so long you get lost. Fun fact - they make their own Kahlua, and when something you like moves off of the cocktail list, they are happy to make it for you.
In my group there were two filet mignon takers, and I had a collection of appetizers - butter squash and crab soup (special), wedge, and potstickers (special) - all unique and very good.
The North End of Virginia Beach doesn't have one place that is both reasonably priced and always good, but Eat comes close - it's not cheap, but it is very good.
My whole family loves EAT BISTRO in Va. Beach. Will, our favorite waiter, is delightful, attentive and thoughtful, but doesn't interrupt with a "Hey, how ya doing" so it's really such a pleasant dining experience. We go there often as it's close to my father's house, but we just love the seasonal offerings, the fresh seafood prepared so creatively, the superb crab cakes when they are in season, and the welcoming staff. To me, it's the nicest dining experience in Va. Beach.
First experience here and loved it! Creative menu and perfect execution of every dish we tried. Victoria was a great server. Highly recommended!

Our family of five went for Christmas Eve dinner. Choices were available for all the different appetites represented. The Gentlemen enjoyed their handcrafted cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their individual appetizers and entrees. Our waiter was awesome very informative and made good recommendations. Made for a wonderfully special evening out. AS usual Parking is a problem we lucked out at last minute with a spot becoming available nearby.
The restaurant was smaller than I had thought but it was perfect. Not too noisy or packed. The food was a little pricey, but really good. The server was really attentive and personable. We definitely enjoyed our celebration here.
Eat is our “go to” restaurant. The menu has a great variety and I’ve tried most of it, but my husband gets the steak EVERY TIME!!!!! The specials are also a treat, I get the fish any time it’s offered (always a win!) Service is exemplary! Will was our waiter and we love him!!!!
Eat - the food, ambience and service do not disappoint!
As always the food and service were outstanding. I wish I lived in VA Beach so I could visit more often! Don't miss this gem!
