Eastland Cafe Ratings and Reviews
I really wanted to love this place. It's in our neighborhood and could be a "go-to favorite". But, service was very slow; food was mediocre but expensive; and, it was so loud we couldn't talk. The tables were so close that the wait staff could reach our table. We felt shoved and poked and not valued. So disappointed.
My wife and I had an excellent dinner and dining experience at Eastland Cafe. I like the casual venue. Our waiter was much more than just a server. He told us all about the dishes and make good recommendations. For starters, the French Onion Soup would make the French drool and the Fried Green Tomato was the best ever. My wife had Shrimp and Grits that are on a par with anything in Charleston and I had a fantastic Pork Chop. We finished off by sharing a Sticky Pudding. The wine list is short but adequate and very reasonable. Overall, a place I want to go back to very soon.
The Eastland Cafe is the gem of East Nashville. The food was absolutely delicious and plated artfully. Our server Joe was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu items and adorable! Where do they find pomegranates at this time of the year:). The next time we are back in Music City we will definitely visit this delightful restaurant.
This was a fantastic find for an out of towner looking for good food with smaller portion options. The server was a little distracted but the everything was a solid 5. Foot was off the chain. Try the green chili Mac, gnocchi and the fried green tomatos with pimento cheese and pepper jam!
Was a last minute choice but we are sure glad we were able to get reservations.. 3 adults, a 16 year old and an 11 year old. Made it for the happy hour menu so were able to order from both. Joe, the server, was such happy person, he made us all happy. My granddaughter commented on it several times. And finally, great deserts... To quote Arnold. "I'll be back"
Restaurant was busy but should have been expected given timing and events in the area. Waiter did not put in all of the entree orders so experience was poor with regard to service. Had friends in from out of town. So wished we had chosen a newer restaurant.
Just like 90% of the other reviews, it took a really long time for the food to come out, but once it came out it was really yummy. The restaurant was really loud and the tables were really close together, almost like eating with strangers. But, all in all, the staff was friendly and the food was good.
This was in a great neighborhood and vey busy place. We arrived early for our reservation and got seated quickly. The entire staff was very friendly. I asked our waiter out of three entrées which would he choose for myself being a vegetarian. I went with the squash and zucchini composition based on his recommendation. The food took about an hour to come out. Before our food arrived our waiter said he would buy us a dessert based on our food wait time. When my entrée came out I thought it was a joke because it was the size of a side dish. The entrée was priced at $17 and literally had a sliver of zucchini bread, a few slivers of zucchini, a few slivers of squash, and some cherry tomatoes. My companion had the pork entrée also priced at $17 with a good size pork chop, collard greens, and another side. We also had a goat cheese entrée that was very good prior to our meal. Overall the food quality and taste where very good, but the vegetarian options on the menu are very overpriced.
The best happy hour menu in Nashville. House made hummus with carrots and oven fired pita bread is to die for and I have it as a meal for $6!! Add a vesper for $5 and I eat for $12.98. Happy and healthy. YUM!
The people that work there are always amazing and so nice. The bartender for happy hour is so sweet she always remembers my order!
