We were recommended by some friends to check this place out and it was worth it.
Casual/trendy small restaurant. We had the bone marrow and it was superb - would have loved a shot of liquor to wrap it up as I've had that at other restaurants, but I can't complain because it was very tasty.
There was a group of women celebrating a birthday and given how small the space was, I thought they would be too loud or service would falter - they weren't and the service continued to be excellent. So I like this place and will return again.
Love the local place.
Love the music tonight.
Keep it up..
Great ambience and service. Food is pretty good and full of flavor.
Great atmosphere and very tasty food! Service was pleasant and it was a great brunch spot to spend Mother’s Day.
We had our wedding here 4 years ago and have returned every year for our anniversary. We chose to have brunch here this Mother's Day and it was also just as outstanding as our previous celebratory dinners and wedding day. Congrats to the East Thirty-Six team for keeping the great vibe, service, food and especially top-notch beverages as current and delicious as they were when they opened 5+ years ago. Cheers!
Nice restaurant. Good ambience. Great food. Decent service. Would highly recommend this place.
I've been to East Thirty-Six before and I like it a lot. It's a little bit scruffy in some ways but the food is fantastic and the service is great. I had the best omelette I've probably ever had. The drinks menu is incredibly comprehensive!
Always an amazing experience - one of my favourite restaurants in town!
I'd definitely go back (probably regularly); good food, good value, nice and attentive waiters, wonderful location for the theatre. Perfect.
Chicken dish was very dry. I think it doesn’t measure up to it’s cost. Portion size was also not big, I came home hungry. I ordered one drink and it was way to sour.
Very nice little spot on Wellington. The service was a bit slow to start however the server was very friendly and attentive through the meal. It turned out to be 'buck a shuck' so that was a nice way to start the meal. We both had the short rib and it was delicious. Also had the roasted cauliflower as a starter which was delicious. Overall good value, good food and nice ambiance. (it was Monday so very quiet!)
Friday evening early supper and the restaurant was pretty busy. I had the prix fixe & my wife had the burger. Appetizers were good with generous portions. The atmosphere was fairly noisy with a DJ & lots of chatter. Prices were towards the higher end ($20 for the burger). The burger was well cooked, the fries were very tasty. The boneless short ribs were also tasty with a reasonable size portion. Service was quite good. Desserts were also very tasty & fairly small servings. While the food & service were above average, I probably wouldn't go back again simply because the vibe and atmosphere was a little too bustling for a relaxing meal.
It was a pleasant surprise never having been there before. The chicken with mushrooms and cabbage was outstanding. My friend had a chocolate martini - wonderful!
Been for brunch and dinner. Love this place. Great spot that is great for locals and those visiting Toronto.
Loved everything just too noisy for my own preference
This place never disappoints! Superb food (and a very creative) and great and super friendly service. A true gem in the Downtown core.
The food was poor and overpriced. When we walked in on Saturday evening, the place was near empty. Drinks were not good and I have nothing good to say about the place.
Eggs benny and waffles and fried chicken were great. Restaurant was really cold (temp) and not very busy. Expected a bigger crowd and more lively vibe for Sunday brunch. Still managed to spend 5 hours there drinking $5 mimosas and caesars!
Was super happy with the service and food! I'd heard good things about this venue and was not disappointed! It got a bit loud as the evening went on, but, it's a popular spot so it's to be expected. Looking forward to checking it out again!
Worst restaurant in Toronto! Never coming back!
Grilled Squid was not good at all. It may have lots of ingredients but nothing gave an interesting taste at all. The squid was also too hard. The mushroom carbonara style and kimchi fries were tasty but was not well presented.
The service was awful that the waitress grabbed the menu WHILE I was reading it so she can give it to my partner. Rude move! She noticed she did wrong she apologized. I asked her to pack out the fries and the other server came to me saying they cannot cancel the order cos it was already done. Definitely poor listening skills.
I told them during my reservation that it was my boyfriend’s birthday. They said they will have a birthday cake ready for him. We did not receive the surprise at all!
Love East 36. One of my top 3 restaurants in Toronto. This visit was for buck a shuck oysters, aioli fries, and martini special. Great value, service and the food is always perfect!
Cute place and friendly staff. We had drinks and dinner and enjoyed it. Got a little clubby after 10pm with a dj.
It was great, like every visit.
Horrible. Worst experience ever.
The service was slow but friendly. The restaurant was full on a mid-March Thursday evening. It is a younger crowd and noisy. The menu is small but well represented. The portions are small but adequate and nicely prepared with interesting tastes and texture. The salmon was seared and deliciously spiced, not dry but just a tad over cooked, as were the three small shrimp accompanying it. The chicken sous-vide was tender. The lemon custard desert was ample, pleasantly tart and nicely paired with macadamia nuts and a chunk of flaky shortbread. Unfortunately the desert came after we had finished our coffee.
Short ribs needed a bit more moisture/jus, and the hazelnuts in the lemon custard were a little stale. Both still delicious
service was great. we sat at the bar and the bartender provided great food and drink recommendation was was very pleasant. would be back again
Outstanding place!!! Highly recommended!!! Great food!!! Superb wine!!! And the most friendly service!!!
True gem in the financial district....
Great experience! And great food
Great food. Good service. A nice brunch spot where you don’t have to waste time in line waiting for a table! Had the fried chicken and waffles, beef burger, and eggs benedict (vegetarian version that they accommodated).
We had bone marrow, tartare, cauliflower and mushroom dish it was excellent
When for Sunday brunch. Nice atmosphere, attentive service and the food was great. They were able to accommodate my food allergy which was great. I would recommend this place if you are looking for something more interesting than a basic brunch.
Cocktails were good. Short rib was super dry.
Nice atmosphere and interesting cocktails so might return for drinks, but not for food. Food was below mediocre. I have a negative physical reaction to mustard, so asked for the breakfast sandwich without the mustard, and told that they wouldn't do that, which I found very strange and disappointing. I ordered the eggs bennie w/ smoked salmon, instead. When it came out looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp all morning and I couldn't see any hollandaise sauce (either never had it, or had dried up and congealed under the heat lamp). When brought this to the attention of the waiter he took it back into the kitchen and when it returned it had the stingiest amount of hollandaise. And by the time it came back the eggs were almost cold. Another member of our party ordered the omelette which wasn't cooked all the way through so most of it was inedible.
Very quaint for a romantic dinner. Food was delicious and well cooked. Dessert could have been a bit bigger, but generally portions were decent for the price.
Food was very good and fairly priced. Excellent for a pleasant and relatively quick dinner before a show at Sony or St. Lawrence Centres.
Absolutely fantastic experience, would gladly return anytime.
I would absolutely recommend East Thirty-Six to a friend. It's great that you're now open for brunch.
Special quisin with a great service. I liked the cocktails too.
Was surprised to walk in and hear a DJ spinning amazing music! Part of me wanted to just get up and dance but we were there for dinner. Drinks were nice, food was good and servers were great! Apparently this place doesn’t turn into a latenight dance party but it should!
