It felt like a bistro in Paris! Magnifique! I highly recommend this place and will be back.
Great food. Reasonable prices and the service staff make everyone feel welcome.
Great food, great service and the atmosphere is very cozy.
The service was great and the staff was accommodating. Everything we ate tasted great. I have already recommended to other friends.
Really great cocktails & service. Had a fantastic night!
Braised beef was incredible, service was fantastic! Really nice atmosphere.
Had a great Valentine’s Day dinner here. Food was awesome, services was great and the venue was really nice!
Winterlicious dinner. Hi hopes walking in - place nice in a great location. Server was very attentive and nice. Nice start with the oysters which were delicious. Unfortunately the food was after that tasted and presented as pre made and not very good. Dessert was good and the server again did his best. Won't be back. For what ended up being an almost $200 bill - was very disappointing.
We went for winterlicious and left a little hungry. The appetizers were fantastic, I recommend the scallops (tiny bite size) and everyone enjoyed them but the mains were lacking with presentation and substance. There was nothing to accompany the beef except for some rapini and the char on the beef was already bitter so the whole dish ended up bitter and salty even though it was cooked well. The drinks were good and the atmosphere cozy and dim.
Not what I expected. Cute hipster joint, not really my style. Steak was not cooked to my instructions asked for medium (came barely medium rare, too rare for me)
The ambiance is cool, nice location, great bar, great cocktail. For the price, the food was pretty underwhelming. Everything was good, but nothing came close to wowing me. This place is not bad by any means, but there are lots of other places in the city that are much more impressive.
Our dinner at East Thirt-Six was amazing! The food was great, and we really enjoyed the drinks we had also. The service was awesome, very attentive and incredibly warm and friendly. We will absolutely be returning when we are in the area next.
Very unprofessional service, bland food, bad dining experience
Went for Winterlicious and it was great! Staff were super friendly especially the bartender. He joked with us and made us some amazing shots. The ambiance was lovely and the music in the background was perfect. The food was FABULOUS! I enjoyed every single item I got as well as my friends. I highly recommend visiting whether it be for Winterlicious or on any other night. A must try is the fried chicken!
We came here for Winterlicious. Dinner was lovely, although we felt like the $43 price point was more for the location than the actual quality. Appreciated the bottle wine deal. Staff members were not versed in wine knowledge, which I find strange given the price points the wines were being sold at per bottle. Asparagus in the app had some tough ends. Steak was a little tough when prepared at medium rare, which I would expect more at the price. The monkfish was very good, and the black tahini veloute was inspired. Desserts were nice - donuts fluffy and the peanut brittle snappy without being too hard. Pretty, intimate space. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but for the price and lack of knowledge around details like wine, I'd likely try other places first before returning.
Good value happy hour, nice oysters, great cocktails!
Great service and food
Great food. We ordered several appetizers and shared them. The apps were excellent. Great drinks and a fabulous place to meet friends. Service could be a bit more attentive.
Great restaurant and ambiance, but limited menu selection.
1 small hiccup in that one of our plates was cold but it was quickly remedied!
Really enjoyed our dinner!
I adore East36! It is always such fun, especially when the DJ is playing! Staff are fabulous; so friendly and attentive. Food is spectacular and always a treat. This is one of my Happy Places!
Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was great (seared salmon and braised beef cheek).
Overall poor service
Service was quite good and in the Halloween spirit. Our server was helpful in pointing out the non-dairy dishes that my friend could eat. The tartare was flavourful and had a good texture but the wonton chips seemed a bit stale. My salmon dish was a bit overcooked, but paired well with everything on the dish.
Great spot! Great oysters! The service was great! Cod was overcooked (a lot), but everything else was really enjoyable.
Such a great place. So glad we looked at reviews and came here. Our server was fabulous, the food was great, albeit pretty salty. That would be my only negative feedback. The mushroom entree dish and the brussel sprout side were good but way too salty. Other than that, great night :)
This is creative cuisine prepared poorly. The cod that my partner had was not cooked through. Definitely not a way to serve this type of fish. Parts of my dinner were cold. We had a show to catch of course, so we really didn’t want to send anything back. The cocktails were poorly mixed and watered from sitting too long, especially ones that were spirit heavy. The service was very slow to start. We waited several minutes at the table before a menu was even brought to us. There is no host stand at the entrance and myself and several other diners after us seemed confused with the DJ booth/table sitting in that location to the extent that we initially spoke to her upon entering. Still not sure why they need a live DJ for this space. I hope that this was an “off” night. Location and value were good.
Food, service, ambience was great! We enjoyed everything. Would come back.
It was okay. Food was decent. Place can use some light and AC. Maybe better for drinks than brunch.
usually good but was a little loud due to two parties. The waitress took our half drink before we had a chance and when mentioned to the person taking our bill, no acknowledgement that they took a half full drink or an apology.
Probably won't come back for the food.
We had a larger group and the East Thirty-Six staff did an amazing job on the service, keeping the pace of the meal, and seating us in an area that was best for our party. The cocktails were great too! Would visit again.
Food was not fresh. Service was great................sfffgg
It was great. Service was fantastic, drinks were delicious as were the apps. The meal was nice, although the menu was a little limited. Overall it was a positive evening out
Was disappointed in decor, and the sloppiness of uniform (really, untied bow ties slung around necks with button up shirts undone..?) Server questioned me “just” ordering a juice, when the rest of my party ordered alcohol..even though I’m visibly pregnant. Quite off putting. We ordered the kimchi fries to nibble and they were delicious, unfortunately when our mains arrived the server removed the fries from the table even though they were maybe half consumed. I ordered the salmon and the fish was cooked nicely, although the shrimp were very overdone and my side tasted of only butter. My mother ordered the risotto and it was like a tomato soup in consistency and flavour, one of the saddest most inauthentic risottos I’ve ever seen and tasted. My fiancé ordered the beef cheek and I thought it was very tasty and well cooked, however the side of pearl couscous was very floral and when eaten separately wasn’t palatable. All in all service was just okay. Menu was just okay and ambience was lacking. I wouldn’t return for food. Does seem an alright place to grab a few cocktails and an app... our app was great and my mother and husband both loved their cocktails.
As always, the food and experience at East Thirty-six was amazing!
Service is great, the employees really take care of you and are incredibly helpful. The food and drinks were also excellent.
We had a large group there, and it was a truly positive experience.
Not the best place to take advantage of Buck-A-Shuck specials. There was a 12 oyster limit per per person but ultimately this was probably a good thing since the Oyster quality was poor with no meat. The were also served at room temp as opposed to slightly chilled and didn’t come with sauces/dressings. Also, they loaded one of the oysters with all the horseradish making it inedible. I’d recommend a different place for those looking for Oyster specials.
The wine was great and it was the best Duck Confit I've had in a long time!!!
Really enjoyed the food and staff. The only thing that started off our experience a little rough was that our reservation was made for 9pm and yet the kitchen closed at 9. Seeing as we wanted to try this out for the summer luscious menu, I think that would have been nice to know when booking the reservation. Now the staff was kind enough to keep the kitchen open, however we were very rushed through our whole date night.
Went here for Summerlicious, food was good/average but the service was quite lackluster. We were there after peak lunch hour, only 3 tables with seated customers but the server did not bother to refill our water or check on us expect to serve the food and at the end for the bill. When asked about their menu, the server also made zero attempt to give a proper description of the dish. There were quite a few flies in the restaurant, very off-putting. Overall not a great experience and very unlikely to come back or recommend others.
