2 adults and a 3 yo- Food took over an hour to get and my entree didn’t get served with theirs. They both finished their plate before I got my food. My partner got the catch of the day, $40 something special and let’s just say he ordered pizza when he got home he was still so hungry. Ordered chicken tenders and fries for my picky 3yo- came out with tortilla chips and when I asked the server about the fries, he said they ran out. Cool- things happen, I get it…buttt with the hour we waited for the food, when did he forget to tell us that? Bill was $178 for the 3 of us, which I don’t mind paying a high bill-I chose the restaurant knowing it’s be high priced, but the quality/quantity of the food does not match. However, we ate outside and the view was fantastic and vibe was perfect, especially paired with the hibiscus margarita!

The food was terrible. I ordered an appetizer and the bread and lavosh stale. Calamari had no taste and under cooked. Linguine and clam sauce was blah with few clams. My wedge salad had no blue cheese and tasteless over cooked bacon. Did not come as a wedge. Server was pleasant but disappeared 1/2 way through dinner. Will not return.

Been away from Wrightsville Beach for a while. I was excited to do Sunday brunch at your restaurant with my daughter. We were there 3 days after she was born with her mother, my mother and my grandmother. It was Mother’s Day 1998. At that time I was selling Vermont maple syrup to Chef Sullivan. The buffet was outstanding. A wonderful memory. This past Sunday I made a reservation for 10:30. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. After waiting twenty minutes not one person on your staff approached our table. We got up and left! I have worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 25 years in every capacity…I am embarrassed for you.

The dining experience was excellent. Enjoyed the Friday lobster special very much. Almost missed it on menu! Perhaps you should promote it more as it was the best of the 3 meals we had at East. Dining at East was the only redeeming aspect to a birthday weekend gone terribly wrong due to reservation snfu from hell. I would recommend the restaurant but not the hotel.

The food was pretty good but the service was terrible. There was maybe one other actual table in the restaurant but it took well over an hour to get our food. The waitress seemed to come and go as she pleased but wasn’t really around. Food was good but I’d be hesitant. Prices were a little high but again, bad service was the worst part.

Even though we had a reservation, we were not provided with a table that was open and we were given a much less desirable table. More disappointing, despite the waitstaff’s guarantee, the main courses came out as we were in the middle of eating our appetizers. After finishing our appetizers, when re-presented to us, the food was not hot as it was just held under a heat lamp. All had fish, two had scallops and two the swordfish special, and would have been excellent except for the temperature of the food. Next time, we will do as we now usually do, and order our main course AFTER we finish our appetizers.

20 minutes for server to arrive with only a few tables occupied. Cauliflower appetizer was best part of dinner. Menu is limited ended up with “smash burger” which was an attempt to smash a frozen burger they should google it. I guess if your on vacation it’s probably OK but we live in Wilmington and too many great places to go 1st and last time here.

Phenomenal setting and service. Such a great set up for Sunday brunch and a beautiful view on a pretty day. Food was good. Big bummer was the live music was WAY too loud for Sunday brunch. Saw many people asking to be seated far as possible from the bandstand because it was so loud. LOVE that they have live music but needs to be more 'brunch crowd' appropriate. We were the second from farthest table from the music and at times had to repeat conversation to be heard. PLEASE tone it down to more background music so conversation is not stymied. Small jazz combo would be amazing!

Food was wonderful - my husband had Lobster dinner special with asparagus and fingerling potatoes and loved it! The Clam Chowder was delicious, it had some vegetables in it that I think gave it that extra yum!! I had the solo Crab cake dinner - just right with the slightly roasted broccoli and mashed potatoes!! Of course, dessert - Chocolate Tart was a rich chocolatey plate of wonderful! Daniel, our server was outstanding and the music for the evening, Jenny Lynn, was so perfect for a dinner night out!! The only complaint (not the restaurant’s fault) was the table of 6 loud people having 3 way conversations and apparently they didn’t care if the rest of the restaurant heard… Next time we’ll request a table away from the large group tables!

I attempted to have a nice dinner at this place but instead I was seated and then thoroughly ignored by the waitstaff. After being seated for 10 minutes water was brought to the table. After 15 minutes our drink orders were taken by our apologetic waiter. After 25 minutes our drinks arrived. After a full 40 minutes and no sign of a return from our waiter we left. During this 40 minutes we watched our waiter stand around and talk to the hostess, he waited on other tables that were seated after us and generally forget we were even there. It was the worst service experience I have had in Wilmington and I will not return to this overpriced and underwhelming place.
