View Private Dining DetailsWonderful meal as usual. I dine here all the time and it is consistently good. First the bring to the table a plate of carrots, celery olive and radishes , with a wonderful bread basket . Then the menu is large so there are lots of choices . With lots of healthy options. In the bar they have entertainment so it is fun to sit and eat in there also.
Very fun waitress. Lively atmosphere :live music in the bar
Their holiday brunch/lunch is just fantastic! I've moved our family Thanksgiving there, and just went to their Easter brunch!
Best kept secret in Chicago, awesome menu and food!
Lobster Tails
Love the service and love the food. We go at least monthly and have never been disappointed.
The new chef has too much fish on the menu. Overall the food is not as well prepared.
Maxwell's is a favorite place for my wife and me. Food is always top notch and very consistent. Service is outstanding. Every time we eat at Maxwell's we are totally satisfied.
My wife and I like Maxwells's in part because it is close to our apartment and can always get in. But also the service friendly and food is terrific! And, even with the live entertainment in the bar, it is quiet enough to converse in a normal tone of voice. A special Chicago place!
The appetizers we ordered were really good. The entrees were mediocre. When my salmon dish was placed on the table, I chuckled. In my opinion, the menu change is not a success. However, the restaurant is convenient because it’s located in East Bank Club so you can grab dinner after a workout or spa service. However, I can think of several better restaurants to spend $100. If I dine here again, we’ll stick to the appetizers.
First time to eat at Maxwells although I am a member of the Club. Service was slow to fulfill our order. Turkey burger arrives on a cutting board and looked more like a grilled cheese on greasy bread. Oddly enough, the waitress had asked if I wanted cheese on the turkey burger and I asked for cheddar. There was no cheddar on the burger and when I asked the waitress about that, she ignored me and left. The other person's smoked salmon cobb salad was so small that he commented to the waitress about it. I wanted to like Maxwell's but unless it changes I probably won't go again for lunch. The atmosphere is pleasant however and quiet for conversation for a business meeting.
Always consistent great food, drinks and service!
I went for the brunch with my husband and two small children. My 2 year old decided to sit in the booth instead of the high chair. I let her in order to avoid a total meltdown. When I received my bill, she was charged the childs fee. When I asked the waiter why (they advertise charging kids 4 and older) he told me that they have to charge kids not sitting in the high chair. Have you ever heard of anything so asinine? I didn't ask to speak to anyone else because it wasn't a lot ($6) but I left there in disbelief over this policy. We eat out a lot and have never come across a policy like this.
Had a wonderful Sunday brunch at Maxwell's. Every dish I tasted on the brunch buffet was flavorful, seasonal, and delicious. Lots of seafood items and the omelette and waffle stations were fun for the kids. Excellent, friendly service as well.
I love the new menu - fresh and inspired - and delicious. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and grilled calamari. Great place for people wanting gluten-free. All the menu items are marked for GF, V, Heart healthy. I love it.
Cocktails in the bar first are terrific, particularly with live combo and vegetables with dip offered. Parking is available in garage below.
You can never go wrong with a buffet, especially one that is centered about breakfast! We were very pleased with the breakfast selection, lots of different meats, omelettes, eggs Benedict, pancakes, etc. however, there was a lack of lunch items. Only items were Caesar salad, shrimp, and tabouleh salad. I would have considered this to just be a breakfast buffet vs brunch buffet. But, overall everything was delicious!
The live music is always a nice treat to go with a wonderful meal.
I've been to Maxwells several times for different menu specials, brunch, Thanksgiving and recently for their Summer BBQ which was totally awesome!! Food is always fresh and terrific. Service is wonderful. Mr. Reid is great, always friendly and attentive. I tell everyone I know about Maxwells.
Love sitting in the bar area before dinner. Wait staff was friendly and the food was great. A little disappointed in the quality and flavor of the tuna entree, but everything else was wonderful. Definitely a top pick for after work dinner or business meal!
The food is always excellent at the East Bank Clib. The server was attentive. The bar scene is nice before dinner.
Great food and reasonable pricing. Just if you drink water with your meal, bring your own if you're going to have more than one glass.
Very nice evening. Loved the musical group in the lounge!
Great food, service, and location
The restaurant's host, Charles, makes you feel welcome and I really feel he's pleased you're there. This was a business lunch and the staff accommodated dietary preferences effortlessly.
Always good; like eating at home with your own personal chef, but better. Generous servings of wine. Food is well-prepared, servers are friendly and attentive. Especially Lorena.
This is a hit-or-miss restaurant, I usually reserve the Sunday brunch Buffet. Sometimes delicious and sometimes not, it's baffling. The Thursday Special ribs were great, now that has disappeared. Hoping for a turnaround.
Larena is a fabulous server and makes you feel special
The dinner was great, the service exceptional, but the live "entertainment" bellowing from the adjoining bar left much to be desired.
There are special menus for dinner on weekdays and live music. Their Sunday brunch is one of my favorites: Great variety of food options, service is always excellent and price is fair.
They have self-parking on-site for a price you don't find anywhere else.
Delicious food. Great aer
Food is always good, great options for everyone. We love the live music!
It should NOT be called a brunch. It was a breakfast buffet. The buffet tables were not well kept and the food was cold. I was very disappointed in the selection of foods. Waitress only offered us coffee to drink. She asked us if we wanted a bagel and if so she would make us one. The bill was $80.00 for the three of us who could only eat $10.00 of good food which were the donuts. EBC compared to other brunches offered in the loop was AWFUL. Thank goodness the parking was inexpensive. It took us longer to get to the restaurant than the time we spent there. The presentation and taste of the food was less than adequate.
As an East Bank Club member I should not have to remind myself that this is such a good restaurant. I need to come here more often. And I will.
We eat at Maxwell's all the time. And we do so because of the service. The food is good, but it's the people that make the difference. From Manager Charles to,our favorite waiters, it's home away from home.
The food and service was very good as usual. The live music by Midnight Sun was wonderful. We really enjoyed the music and it made the dining experience more enjoyable.
The place is cold and rigid. Service is just OK, but the place looks outdated. Menu is limited and not well defined into a specific kind of cuisine.
Always good food and I appreciate the nutritional info on the menu. The salmon is fantastic - cooked perfect every time and the garlic butter sauce is heaven. Also, I love the Oberon on tap throughout the summer. The servers are always friendly and meals come out quickly. Keep up the good work. :)
Great variety on the menu, excellent service, always a nice meal!
This is our go-to place. We eat here at least twice a month. Can't miss with Brussels sprout salad, and DON'T miss the Thursday night special. Ask for Charles to help, with reservation. The best. Period.
We dined on a Monday night, when there is no live music, so it was quiet. The service was wonderful, and the food was, too.
