Great food great service
Delicious twin Lobster tails! Healthy options.
The appetizer was good and then ordered the filet sliders. One was good, the other was all gristle and horrible.
Told the server (she was fabulous) to talk to the manager. The manager refused to remove the item from my bill. She told me she spoke tot he chef and he said it was cooked perfectly. Rather than check with me first, she went to the chef who did not know why it was unacceptable.
Now she tells me she will remove the one filet slider from my bill. Suffice it to say, by the time I taught her how to be a proper manager, the sliders were removed from the bill and desert was comped. Who needs the aggravation. The food used to be amazing, now not worth going back.
Good food, good service. Cozy yet sophisticated.
As a vegetarian there were limited options for $30 per person and the pasta station was not good- sauce was too watery, lacked flavor.
Ww had a wonderful dinner - the staff at maxwells is top rate!
It was pasta night so there were even more choice than usual. Music from the bar made for very a nice ambiance. Lorena is fantastic - humorous, attentive and friendly.
Went for their Easter brunch. Have gone there multiple times for the Easter brunch and regular Sunday brunch. Always a nice selection of healthy and regular items available on the buffet. Reasonable price for the wide selection of food. We have a dog and like the heated underground parking. The weather is never an issue when leaving the dog in the car while eating. Parking is about $5.00 with validation. Make reservations early if you want specific time slot because they fill up fast. The staff is always very helpful and friendly! I would highly recommend their Sunday brunches.
Italian Night buffet was a wonderful adjunct to the terrific menu always available! Something for everyone, and a great time was had by all!
Food was delicious! Rapid service, comfortable setting
Maxwell's offers consistent service, food quality and drinks. Servers proactively provide details that enhance the experience. I had the beet salad (always on my must list), crab cake starter and Butternut Squash Gnudi.
Just ok, not fancy, limited menu, nice service
My husband and I enjoyed a leisurely Sunday brunch. From the food choices, to the impeccable service our Sunday morning was delightful.
Healthy and enjoyable.
Brunch following workout with kids.
It was Italian night so there was a buffet or the regular menu to choose from. Music made the ambiance quite festive. Dinner was great as usual. Service was terrific.
Consistently good food and somewhat laidback service which is not a problem unless you're in a hurry! Brunch is one of the best in the city with nice variety & made to order waffle.
Good menu updated seasonally and warm friendly service in a comfortable environment.
We have eaten at Maxwell's quite a bit as we are East Bank Club members. We were very disappointed in our experience Tuesday. The service was not good, the food took an exceptionally long time, and my dish, which is a seasonal one, was really not right. We happened to notice that a couple at a table near ours was also having difficulty with their order. We have never had a bad experience at Maxwell's before and hope that this was just a really bad night.
Great service and menu is always changing seasonally.
Great food and service
They changed the menu and it has less options than a dive bar at restaurant prices.
Every thing about our dinner was outstanding. Would highly recommend this restaurant !
Always excellent service, foud and atmosphere, inba relaxed and casual environment.
Maxwell's Italian Night buffet on Friday nights is outstanding. It's a great way to end the week!
Wonderful meal as usual. I dine here all the time and it is consistently good. First the bring to the table a plate of carrots, celery olive and radishes , with a wonderful bread basket . Then the menu is large so there are lots of choices . With lots of healthy options. In the bar they have entertainment so it is fun to sit and eat in there also.
Very fun waitress. Lively atmosphere :live music in the bar
Their holiday brunch/lunch is just fantastic! I've moved our family Thanksgiving there, and just went to their Easter brunch!
Best kept secret in Chicago, awesome menu and food!
Love the service and love the food. We go at least monthly and have never been disappointed.
The new chef has too much fish on the menu. Overall the food is not as well prepared.
Maxwell's is a favorite place for my wife and me. Food is always top notch and very consistent. Service is outstanding. Every time we eat at Maxwell's we are totally satisfied.
My wife and I like Maxwells's in part because it is close to our apartment and can always get in. But also the service friendly and food is terrific! And, even with the live entertainment in the bar, it is quiet enough to converse in a normal tone of voice. A special Chicago place!
The appetizers we ordered were really good. The entrees were mediocre. When my salmon dish was placed on the table, I chuckled. In my opinion, the menu change is not a success. However, the restaurant is convenient because it’s located in East Bank Club so you can grab dinner after a workout or spa service. However, I can think of several better restaurants to spend $100. If I dine here again, we’ll stick to the appetizers.
First time to eat at Maxwells although I am a member of the Club. Service was slow to fulfill our order. Turkey burger arrives on a cutting board and looked more like a grilled cheese on greasy bread. Oddly enough, the waitress had asked if I wanted cheese on the turkey burger and I asked for cheddar. There was no cheddar on the burger and when I asked the waitress about that, she ignored me and left. The other person's smoked salmon cobb salad was so small that he commented to the waitress about it. I wanted to like Maxwell's but unless it changes I probably won't go again for lunch. The atmosphere is pleasant however and quiet for conversation for a business meeting.
Always consistent great food, drinks and service!
I went for the brunch with my husband and two small children. My 2 year old decided to sit in the booth instead of the high chair. I let her in order to avoid a total meltdown. When I received my bill, she was charged the childs fee. When I asked the waiter why (they advertise charging kids 4 and older) he told me that they have to charge kids not sitting in the high chair. Have you ever heard of anything so asinine? I didn't ask to speak to anyone else because it wasn't a lot ($6) but I left there in disbelief over this policy. We eat out a lot and have never come across a policy like this.
Had a wonderful Sunday brunch at Maxwell's. Every dish I tasted on the brunch buffet was flavorful, seasonal, and delicious. Lots of seafood items and the omelette and waffle stations were fun for the kids. Excellent, friendly service as well.
