Earth’s Bounty Kitchen and Winebar - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Friday night dinner for 4 of us at the neighborhood restaurant. Seated right away per our reservation. Menus at hand. We did not feel rushed at all. Ambiance was casual/nice. Lighting was on the dark side, made it difficult to read the menu for us older folks (age 50). Stromboli appetizer was very tasty, though enough for 2-3 people, not for 4 persons. Dishes tried: risotto (excellent), two orders of the sauted fish (lingcod) with "green onion" mash (fish was very fresh, though tasted more breaded, green onion mash looked more like tomato sauted, hard to find the green onion), and the burger (excellent, bread is amazing!) with french fries (good). Also had a bottle of wine, they have a couple of reasonable priced wines under $40... then you jump up to $60+. We did not have dessert.
My boyfriend and I finally decided to give it a try after driving by hundreds of times. We were not disappointed! Such a cute, easy spot to stop in to. We were not sure what to expect but were happy with everything from the service, to the food, and all at such a great value. I would highly recommend to my friends looking for an off the beaten path, not tourist overrun restaurant with great prices.
Just off the beaten track - hidden back from Highway 12 - but YOU MUST FIND THIS PLACE!
Great food, chef is very talented. Everything is locally sourced! Super friendly manager and wait staff. We go here a few times a month. A local favorite in the neighborhood.
One of my favorites restaurants in Santa Rosa. The food is local and fresh!! The bacon wrapped cod special was outstanding! The menu changes periodically as it depends on what's in season. May be a bit pricey but you are paying more for organic, local & freshness, well worth it. Highly recommend.
We went to earths bounty kitchen for the first time because they were participating in restaurant week. What a wonderful fine our meal and food could not have been better and our server was absolutely delightful. We would certainly go back again and we would bring friends!
This restaurant has a great location, a cozy setting, and fantastic food. The wine list is exceptional. Our server was excellent. We enjoyed our meal. The only downside was our seating. Even though we made a reservation we were not seated in the empty tables we would have preferred. The hostess was not very nice about it. Other than the hostess we had a great experience and would go back again.
Three of us dined here during Sonoma County Restaurant Week. The entree and main I chose from the Prix Fixe menu were also offered ala carte. There was a savings ordering from the prix fixe menu but the courses were small. I would not want to pay the ala carte menu price for that serving size. Two of us left hungry. Service was attentive. However, he cleared one diner's finished plate before the rest of us had finished. This is a pet peeve of mine. I think it makes the other diners feel rushed. Plates should be cleared when the entire table has finished.
Too bad this place is closed. We went during Restaurant Week last spring and had a nice meal with great service. We asked to move from the table that was assigned to us, which apparently was random when you use Open Table. We sat at the bar, had some really nice wine, apps and entree.
One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa! The food is so different from any other restaurant. Love the fresh, local vegetables they use. We have never had anything but the best service! Definitely my first choice for dinner. They also have delicious sandwiches in their deli.
Not as good as in our previous visit. Ordered the paella (a special) and a pizza. Both were average. The paella was more like a rice dish - not proper paella. Too watery, no socarrat (the crunchy bits from the bottom of the pan). Good ingredients though. As to the pizza, it was too doughy and a tad bland.
This is a small deli-restaurant combination in a neighborhood center in east Santa Rosa. The restaurant had a smallish menu, but thoughtfully put together. The restaurant has a wine bar adjacent to the dining area which is focused around the open kitchen and wood-fired pizza oven. The menu is focused on local, sustainable, artisan produced, all natural and high quality foods and ingredients; the menu changes with the seasons and product availability. Our current favorite include the County Line Beets salad, Boneless Beef Short Ribs with braised root vegetables, mashed potatoes and cabernet jus. For pizzas we've tried the Tomato Mozzarella and Sausage and both were very good. They have a good selection of beers on draught, Anderson Valley Boont Amber being one of my favorites. Their wine list is limited and we have tended to bring along a bottle from our own cellar; at $10 corkage is very reasonable. A neighborhood gem we'll be visiting again soon.
All the dishes hit the mark, from Apps, mains and dessert. Flavors were vibrant and fresh. Every dish was 'clean', meaning there isn't any sauce/flavor that doesn't belong, or weighs down the dish. I highly recommend coming here for dinner. The staff was on point, super friendly and easy going. It's a nice atmosphere with folks sitting at the wine bar having a snack and enjoying a glass of wine, mixed with people having meals at tables. Great job!
In the past we have enjoyed this restaurant. Food has always been good. This last visit...not so much. There was a long wait in getting our food. The waiter did inform us that the pizza would take a bit longer. It would have been nice if he had offered some small nibble while we waited. Our guest had the short rib (one)....seemed like a small portion. He did enjoy it, but would have liked more on the dish. The mushroom pizza, which I always get, was a disappointment....the mushrooms were under cooked and there was no balsamic vinegar on it. Not going back any time soon. I understand that there is a new chef.....hopefully he/she can get this restaurant back on track. Would hate to see it close.
We usually stop here for dinner midweek but this time we went on a Friday night and were so happy to see the restaurant full! The only available tables were in a pretty crowded center aisle so we opted to eat at the bar. Good choice! The bartender was a very attentive server and when we could not decide on wines, he poured samples for us. From this visit, we recommend the beet salad, the short ribs and especially the Pork Three Ways.
It is really a neighborhood gem - and even though it is on the main road, it is set back in a shopping center so it is easy to drive right by.
This restaurant is in my mom's neighborhood. I was visiting her from MN this past weekend. I read reviews and booked a table. I knew it would be a noisier spot, which is fine. I expected more from the food, based on comments I saw. I thought it was "OK" but nothing I would go out of my way to visit again. I thought the price was not equivalent to the meal quality. There are many restaurants along highway 12, and I have enjoyed the food more at a number of spots.
We recently chose EBKWB's to host my husband's birthday celebration. Because we were a big crowd--29 people--we reserved the front section of the restaurant for privacy. Dinner was preceded by appetizers and beverages standing on the lovely outdoor patio adjacent to our "private dining room."
All details, from decor to wine choices, were carefully and thoughtfully attended to by Amy and Chef Christopher Ludwick and we are pleased to say we and, more important, our guests had a wonderful experience. (Some are still raving about the appetizer slider selections.). Amy gave us the option of ordering from the regular menu or designing our own menu. As much as we enjoy the regular menu, we chose option 2 just to simplify.
Our servers, Justin and Mindy, were attentive, professional and friendly. I deducted a star (maybe a little harsh) only because the entrees were a bit slow in coming, but it was not a big problem because we were having fun, had been sated with the appetizers, and the beverages were still flowing.
Overall, it was a fun, delicious party and I didn't have to lift a finger!
This is an unassuming restaurant in a small shopping center that has been a gourmet grocery and 3-4 other restaurants until the current owners hit a home run with this place. Their bread-and-butter is their catering business, but their small restaurant is sensational by any measure. The menu changes seasonally and is always full of local, fresh, delicious ingredients. I had risotto with fresh zucchini and tomatoes drizzled with pistou--fabulous! Wine list is short but of good quality--and there are 5-6 beers on tap. Don't miss this great spot in the Sonoma valley wine country.
We recently ate here because it was local and had great reviews on Open Table. The food is PHENOMENAL! The service was good too, but really the food was the star. We were there on a Friday night and there weren't many patrons. I hope it turns around because I would like to see it succeed and cannot wait to eat there again! If I had to come up with a complaint, my only complaint would be not a more extensive wine selection. Please try it- we want to see it stay! There is also a deli area, but we haven't tried it.... Yet ;)
We live right in the neighborhood, and it's really great to have a place like this handy. The prices are fair and the food is fantastic. Possibly the best pizza ever. Incredible salad. Handy free parking right in front. Not real fancy, but comfortable and clean and friendly.
I'd never had fried mac and cheese before but my first time? I was hooked. The food here is fantastic, ambience, not so much. They are so vastly different that it's notable. Fine dining in what looks like a neighborhood restaurant. My pan roasted chicken was delectable. We went out of our way to dine here and were not disappointed. Did I mention their version of a Little Debbie cake? Yum!
We have been to the Earth's Bounty 4 times this year and will continue to come here. It always has nice food and the people are friendly. We really like the fact that we can bring our own wine and there is only a $10 corkage fee. If you have not been to this great restaurant it is definitely worth giving a try. I am sure you will be repeat customers like us.
First, let me say, we are all foodies and can be tough to please when it comes to food. We came to Earth's Bounty with a friend who had eaten here and really enjoyed it. He comes frequently with a group of friends and apparently the chef can and will prepare a special menu for a larger group. He said the food had been excellent, so I had great hopes. I had the short ribs, which were tender and delicious. We also had the pork shoulder over grits, a pizza, a side of mac and cheese and the crispy chicken with waffles. The food was all consistently excellent. The staff was warm, welcoming and s joy to be around. This is a great find in Santa Rosa and we will definitely be back!
Just when you think that they have made their culinary mark, Chef Christopher Ludwick ups it another notch! And his desire to continue to improve is evidenced by his mingling with each table and asking his customers about what they think about new menu item concepts that might be on a future menu. A ever-changing menu designed by what is in season and the majority of the ingredients they use are sourced from local farmers and ranchers.
From sandwiches to open hearth pizza to pork cheeks to phenomenal artisan salads to risotto....the list goes on. My wife loves the boneless short ribs.
All I have to say is "YUM!"
