The Bread Bar Guelph never disappoints. My favourite restaurant to go to. Food is always amazing and the staff are wonderful.
this is the 3rd time we've come to the Bread Bar for brunch. it never fails to impress. i wish i could eat this every sunday! thanks for the great food. FYI - you need to try the french toast.
Always amazing .. fresh and so delicious it’s become my favourite place to brunch!
Kevin didn’t give back a til
Great staff and ambience do not make up for mediocre food. Bread tasting plate was very good, the burning rosemary very off-putting.
Falafel bowl good, but 4 falafel and hummus and salad - $19???, risotto not very good, - over cooked rice ( not arborio rice, which it should be), grainy sauce, very strong, scant broccoli. This was pretty much rice and cheese, $20?
Smoked salmon soup not advertised as Manhattan style, but was. Tomato base with salmon?Odd. Very over-cooked salmon; extremely chewy.
The coffee was good, the featured cider too. The featured beer, swampy.
Meals were good, not many gluten free options but plenty of vegetarian options. Service was just okay, nothing extraordinary. I would recommend it for business meals that are on the more casual side.
Best brunch. Great value! Go after 11 to take advantage of the booze!
Great pizza and wine. Bread pudding was good as well. Service was okay, had to remind the waitress to bring the wine we ordered. Mussels were very tasty and so was the garlic bread it came with but why only one slice when there were two of us? Asked for more but took too long, while waiting for more bread 3 different wait staff tried to take the mussels plate away :)
The only thing I was disappointed in was that they do not offer any special treatment for a special occasion. It was my daughter's 25th birthday and Bread Bar is her favourite restaurant. I had hoped there would be some gesture from the restaurant to recognize her birthday. I even asked ahead of time when I made my reservation, but the answer was no.
The menu has creative choices and caters to a wide variety of palates. Their speciality is pizza.
Always delish...best pizza around. Service excellent. Better to have reservations. Walk in can be a long wait....but still worth it.
Best restaurant in Guelph by far. Great food, friendly service. When I visit Guelph (which is often), I eat here multiple times.
Third time going to the BreadBar when I visit Guelph to see my daughter as she's in University and we have loved it everytime. The hamburgers are delicious as well as the pizza.
We love the Bread Bar! Food, service..everything! Friendly welcome, first class service
Food and service was fantastic. Had a lovely time trying some new food combinations!
I made our reservation on-line and received a confirmation via email. Several days prior to our reservation, I received a voice message from the restaurant asking me to call to confirm again. I did not appreciate this. I then received another email confirmation on the day of our reservation.
When I arrived I was greeted first and secondly told that we had our table for 1.75 hours. I abhor this practice and find it offensive.
My friend's meal was twice not handled correctly; the requested item to be left out was left in and when returned back to her from the kitchen, some of the item was still there. The manager addressed this and our server was pleasant but our overall experience was poor. I will not return.
My fiance and I like to try new (non chain) restaurants and were pleasantly blown away by this place! The food was incredible. We had muscles and arugula salad to start and then shared the apple and bacon pizza. You could tell the ingredients were extremely fresh and our server (who was so friendly and attentive) let us know that the ingredients come from the owners farm, which is another reason to support this local business! The establishment was fun and cozy and we ended up sharing one of their alcoholic milkshakes at the bar after our meal because we did not want to leave. We will be back very soon and this time with a few friends to share the experience!
Enjoyed the chicken sandwich. It was delicious.
An excellent departure from the usual brunch. Small plates made it possible to experience a wider variety of the kitchen specialties. All were well prepared and delicious. The salad and dessert bar was not all that extensive but what was offered was very good. The tasty berry pie with a crumble topping topped off the brunch really well.
The servers were attentive, friendly and kept the selections coming with no interruptions. A job well done.
Always awesome and tonight was exceptionally great! Fried brussel sprouts were fantastic and the umame burger blew me away!
Would of liked to see additional salad choices i.e. Ceasar Salad with Romaine rather than kale (who eats kale??). Also, choice of draft beer was limited. Would of liked an IPA with lower alcohol content. Only one available was a 6%++. Very good, but you can't have 2..
Great service and good menu. Sunday Brunch is the Best. A must try for this area. Nice decor but is a bit noisy if you want a quiet setting. Love it here!!!
Service was wonderful and the burger was fantastic!
This was not my first time dining at Bread Bar...and it won't be my last! I've always enjoyed my experience there. I think I may have introduced a few return customers to it too!
Great food, great drinks and great service! My boyfriend and I went for New Years Eve, had a really awesome meal!
The food and service was fantastic as usual the food is always fresh and tasty. The signature season drinks are to die for as well. The decor is nice.
Everyone enjoyed their dinner and we could hear each other without raising our voices. Enjoyed service and ambience very much.
The menu was was very limited and honestly the food was just ok. I have had much better meals and it was very expensive for what you actually got. Will not be going back
We had a great night and the staff went out of thier way! I mistakenly booked a table online for 2 so they were surprized when we showed up on a busy Saturday night before Christmas with a group of 6! The hostess worked her magic and reorganized the whole dining room to fit us in! Thank you for saving my skin and providing us with a wonderful experience. Pizzas are great and so was the crispy duck leg. Burgers are always a hit.
I had a business lunch at the beginning of the holiday season. Food was great. Value was there. Service was amazing. It is a BUSY place. Reservations really necessary during peak season. I asked for a quiet place, it was provided. Attentive service and allergies were dealt with very professionally. Thank you!
My colleagues had never been before, so I recommended their dishes and they loved it. One of the best restaurants in Guelph.
Brunch should have a cheaper option with no alcohol. Overpriced
Have been here several times. Food, service and ambience are wonderful. Lots of parking available. Will continue to eat here and bring friends and family.
I’m pescatarian and asked for no bacon in my salad. They didn’t take it the bacon, and I ate the meat. I was very upset about this.
Outstanding establishment with a very comfortable, casual atmosphere featuring a very creative menu and excellent service.
Ordered the falafel bowl and was looking forward to a spicy dish. Very disappointed when it was so bland I had to ask for hot sauce to provide the flavour. Service personnel were very accommodating in trying to make up for it. Provided a box of goodies to take home.
My dinner companion enjoyed what she ordered.
I would return but order something different.
I'm a huge fan of The Bread Bar and go here often for lunch and dinner. Today was the first time we tried it for brunch to celebrate my birthday.
Their website does not do a good job of explaining the experience - $30 per person, all you can eat and it includes 2 alcoholic drinks from their menu. But it's a little more complicated...
The price seemed high to me and we almost didn't go. But they have such an interesting approach: they present a menu which lists about 6 drinks to choose from (espresso drinks are extra), a list of their cold lunch-type items, three different pizzas, and a dessert cart which are all displayed buffet style, and a menu of breakfast items served kinda tapas-style which you can order as you like. Everything is all-you-can-eat.
We started with the peach wine belliini-style drink and a cocktail called a Frenchie. We also had coffee. We ordered the French toast, "all the sides" and the poached pear with crème anglaise and hazelnuts and we shared all of these. The plates are small but it really was quite good. We moved on to the bbq beef with potato hash and a poached egg along with the rootbeer beans and glasses of beer. Then we both had a slice of pizza and some fresh baked bread with raspberry jam. Not wanting to skip dessert we had a piece of pumpkin pie, blueberry pie, a brownie and a peanut butter cookie. We just had tastes of these.
What a clever idea! I love the tapas breakfast approach - this was unique, fun and of course delicious. And it was pricey but what a smart approach for a restaurant to do this and the place was packed with a cozy atmosphere.
The only improvement I would make is in the bar items. The beer was the best item we tried. They have such an opportunity to really create something special. The peach wine with sparkling wine was simply bad. And the Frenchie wasn't very good either. I think they could've done a lot more and created something super special. Regardless, we will be back, and will bring friends.
Wonderful food. Friendly staff.
One ordered a beet salad as a side but was actually a green salad with 3 beets in it.
Not what expected.
Waitress not the happiest.
