Service could have been faster. Need to expand dinner menu. Fried chicken was nothing special; 1 piece was quite dry though cole slaw was very good. Nice view of the outside Christmas decorations.
Took my family to Earl’s after visiting Peddler’s Village. First time there since they reopened. Server came over right away to greet us. We all had salads that were just fine. But the dinners were 2 good 2 bad. My wife and daughter ordered the filet mignon. One medium, one medium well. The first came out rare and the second was well done. They tried to recook the rare one but it still came back medium rare at best. At that point my daughter just ate some of it. The other two dinners were good. Crab cake and a pasta dish. Also, our server forgot to bring the glass of wine my son ordered. It wasn’t a very busy time that there should have been a subpar experience.
My family went to Earl's American for Thanksgiving Dinner. I am a vegan and my daughter is pescetarian so it was difficult to find something to eat for me. I occasionally eat fish so I went with scallops. I would have preferred more vegan options, but the food was amazing.
Worst dining experience I have ever had. Arrived at 7:05 for a 7:15 reservation. Was made to wait until 7:15 to be seated despite seeing our eventual table vacant the whole time. Took 10 minutes for server to bring water. Getting a sense of how this night might go, we ordered drinks and meals when she came back, now 20 minutes into this train wreck dinner. Apps came soon after, but didn't have our entrees a full hour and 10 minutes after being seated. We had to repeatedly ask for bread and water and only after about 3 requests did it ever come. A manager came over, and though never apologizing, offerred to buy dessert. We declined as it was now nearly 8:30pm & still no entree. I asked for the check and was prepared to just leave. He asked if we wanted the entrees or not. We opted to give it another few minutes and the food eventually arrived. It was not worth the wait as 3 of 4 of us felt the food was subpar and it went uneaten. The bill arrived and no consideration was made for our experience. We used to live nearby and enjoyed this place. We drove 11 hours back for Thanksgiving with family and so looked forward to dining here again. What a waste of food, time, and money. Way too many great options...skip this place. Wish we did.
There were four of us and everybody enjoyed their meals. One of us was a vegan and the restaurant accommodated them quite nicely. I would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends
Delicious food and very good service. Pretty good beer selection.
No use in putting notes in when using open table. Restaurant host ignored the request. This is the second time it has happened. Yes, same host both times. Had to ask for her to honor the request since the reservation was made 30 days out. She did, accommodate request but only when the manager intervened. She, the hostess, wasn't happy about it. Two, two tops walked in and she told them they were booked full. For the hour I was there, there were at least 5 tables not being used. Those people could have been accommodated.
Two filets ordered. Both medium rare. One came out perfectly done the other medium well.
Lobster dumplings were delicious!! They are a definite must try!!!
Have really enjoyed Earls in the past, but the last two times there have been very disappointing. For the money, not worth going back.
Loved!! Great food and wine.
Great food overall as usual and excellent service. Good drinks, temperamental bartender .
Went to Earl's for our 50th anniversary. Food was awful. Husband had steak that was merely OK. His lobster was cold and very under cooked. My scallops were drowning in pepper. Will not go back.
Very nice casual dining in a great part of town. Restaurant is clean, spacious and cozy. The service is A+++ here and they do go out of their way to make sure you enjoy yourself! Here’s a menu item to try that I found very good, do try the New York strip steak with au gratin potatoes and asparagus. Delicious, and very filling and save room for dessert to get the hot apple cobbler or the pumpkin flavored cupcake. Will definitely repeat a visit here when in Peddlers village.
Earl's was exceptional and we will return soon! The food, drinks and ambiance were wonderful, and our server (Chris) was the best. We enjoyed our very tasty specialty drinks for starters then were really impressed with the She-crab bisque (Wow!). Our entrees were cooked to perfection and delicious. All in all, a fabulous experience and we highly recommend Earl's for any occasion.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Will definitely be back!
This is our first time back since Earl's re-opened. We were hopeful that the service might be better. Alas, it has not changed. While the new look is very nice and the food is actually vey good, the service is lacking. Our waitress was not at all attentive, we spent much of the time waiting for her to return. Water glasses were never refilled and entrees took an incredibly long time to be served with no explanation from the waitress. Once finished with dinner, she cleared our table and then it was quite a while before she returned to ask if we wanted dessert. Not sure what the problem is; kitchen slow or not enough wait staff or both. My husband put it best--if you want a place to go for a meal with someone that you haven't seen for a while then go here. You can sit around chatting for a long period of time and I don't think they will be shoving you out the door.
We arrived at 7:45 for an 8 pm reservation, and were told they were running a little behind. It was 8:20 when we were seated. Twice the hostess came to us at the bar and apologized for the delay, so we were quite surprised to see at least 4 other open tables, in the room we were eventually seated in. A room we were walked through, on the way to our table, also appeared to have numerous open tables.
My wife and I both had the she-crab bisque, which was excellent, and I had the NY strip, which was very good and cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the filet and lobster tail, and though she loved the lobster, she couldn't eat the filet. What was supposed to be a medium rare filet, was actually a piece of meat, maybe a half inch thick, and cooked closer to medium well. I can't say that I've ever seen anything that thin, called a filet before. We finished by sharing a Creme Brulee, which was very good, rich and creamy with a perfect crust.
If my wife's filet had been anywhere near edible, I would have given 4 or 5 stars for the food, and another 4 or 5 for service, if we'd been seated more promptly.
The food was very tasty and our server was a very nice young man. Nice cozy place in a nice cozy town
Another fine meal last Saturday. Started with the she crab bisque, totally awesome. The wedge salad was wonderful, not overpowering as some blue cheese dressings can be. Bacon was good, and nice touch were oven roasted tomatoes which were phenomenal. We had the fried chicken dinner and the filet mignon and lobster tail. Have to totally rave about the filet mignon which was so tender and done as requested. The sauce that was served with that was very unusual and delicious. Apple cobbler for dessert with vanilla ice cream was good too, very buttery. By the way, forgot to mention the bread basket has a nice variety and something about the butter is delicious. Will definitely return!
great experience, good food, nice accomadation, nice waiter
I didn't realize that The Apple Festival was such a crowded event. I was glad I made a reservation for lunch. It was a nice getaway from the crowds at the Festival. Really enjoyed our lunch.
Great restaurant and great food
Went back to Earls -was there a couple of years ago and had a great meal---this time was totally disappointed,, food was mediocre at best. Striped Bass was mealy and over cooked, House rigatoni was overly salty and dry...overall a very disappointing experience--would not recommend and we will not go back....
Server was wonderful, food was great, customer service was top notch.
The service was not good. Waitress never came over to check on our table when food was brought over etc. my steak was not cooked properly. We had been to this restaurant prior to it being redone years ago and it was soo nice and no issues with food/service. Very disappointed.
Had a Friends birthday celebration. Drinks and Food were awesome as well as service.
Enjoyed our dinner out. We will be back!!!
Food was very good but would like to see a larger appetizer and lunch selection with more sandwich options for a quick lunch
Good food, a little pricey. Service was good but way too loud music on Friday night. We had dinner around 8p. I would go back at a quieter time.
Food was well prepared and delicious
Service was not good but Steven rescued us
A little pricey! Bread was great
Service was super slow and the kicker was the server added a 20% tip to the check. We only had a party of 6, so thought this was inappropriate. We had to go to the bar ourselves to refill drinks.
We were able to get a last-minute, early evening dinner reservation at Earl's during a day-date trip to Peddler's Village last Saturday. Earl's is clean & modern, but still has a cute, quaint vibe that goes with the area.
The beers are priced very reasonably and there are nice cocktails to choose from. I didn't have any cocktails this time, but was impressed with them the last time we visited. We started our meal with the Lobster Dumplings, and that would be my only complaint about the entire experience. Something was just "off" about them and I wish I'd gone with a cocktail instead -
especially since after the delicious bread basket and the dumplings I was already feeling full before my main dish arrived!
We were quite pleased with the menu and had a difficult time choosing what entrees to go with...I was torn between something like 4 different options. My husband was torn between the Ribeye and Roasted Pork Chop (with pumpkin risotto). He ended up going with the latter and I ended up going with the Diver Scallops with local wild mushroom risotto. The pork chop was HUGE! Both were delicious.
Our server was lovely. Always there when we needed her, but never bothersome. Very professional. Thank you, we'll be back!
We were excited to experience this place post-fire and redo but I’m sorry to say we were disappointed. Okay food even with good service is still just okay in my book. Great bar area for hanging out but it looks like a great steakhouse and sets high expectations from the outside. Definitely much much better places for an Anniversary or special occasion dinner you could go to besides Earls unfortunately.
Excellent dinner again. Wonderful oysters elegantly presented, great sea bass with crab and farro risotto, perfectly fried chicken, interesting pork belly and grits.
Great service and good drinks.
We were seated right away and our server made some great recommendations. She crab soup might have been the best we have ever had. We shared a turkey panini which was more than enough for the two of us. German Riesling was delicious as was the Guinness. Will definitely go back.
Our group of 2 couples dined at Earl's Saturday night. We all loved our food and our server was awesome. We would definitely come back!
She-Crab Soup was outstanding. Rare when your soup is piping hot. It was delicious.
Service was attentive.
Portions were more than adequate.
Bar looked fun w/ the Baseball Playoff game.
Very nice restaurant, great service, drinks from bar a tad expensive. Would only chose it for a special occasion.
Stopped in for a Friday night dinner out with my wife. This was our first time at Earl's. Nice ambiance and decor and the dining room was full of customers, but relatively quiet. Live accoustic guitar was playing in the bar area. Food and service were both very good.
Wait staff is very good & very personable! Food was DELICIOUS!!!!
Ambience galore. There was live music the night we were there. Our waiter was awesome. The food was incredible. Would highly recommend. We were not rushed at all.
The meal was wonderful with just the right sized portions - amazing chocolate cake from what's for dessert in Holland pa
