For a new restaurant this place was extremely disappointing. First, we were not seen by a waiter for 15 minutes after being seated. Then, when we did flag down a waiter, we were rushed into ordering. When I said I needed another minute to decide, he came back 15 minutes later. The bread was good, but then when we asked for more, it was cold and stale. Oh, and when I finished my beer, I wasn't asked if I wanted another one. Water refill? Not happening either. I used to be a waiter, this was ridiculous. Now fie the food.overpriced, and really small portion entrees for $27. Seriously? Oh, the salad was extra, sorry, not included. This was for a birthday, which they were told about. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere. I should have.
We originally made table reservations but found seats at the bar and ordered a drink, apps and dinner. The drink, an old fashion was ok. The apps took more than 20 minutes to arrive and after waiting another 15 for our entree, we cancelled it. It just was taking to long and we had to leave. The dumplings and hummus and pita were very good though.
Food was awesome; however, the service was a little slow. Given our order consisted of a burger and the soba noodle salad, I didn't expect that kind of wait. Not sure if it's only at lunch, but it would have been nice to have bread to nibble on while waiting.
We thought the ambiance and service was wonderful, especially the table we were given on an Easter Holiday. We had our child with us and she's under 3 so it was great to have that privacy and a lot of space at a giant table. The food was somewhat disappointing though I'm sad to say. It lacked flavor and was just very uneventful. We all ordered different dishes and were pretty underwhelmed. I'm hoping the food improves so I can try it again one day.
We had such an amazing Easter lunch at Earl's that we were still talking about it at dinner! The food was impeccable (I mean, who can do that with a pork chop?? The best pork chop we've ever had - like filet mignon!). Our son adored the mint juleps and the roasted pear pudding was perfect. The service was wonderful and the ambience was lovely. We can't wait to come back!
Earl’s is our favorite Easter and/or Mother’s Day lunch spot. We’ve dined at and loved Earl’s over the years. My family had lunch this year the day before Easter and I was disappointed to find the food was just average. The shrimp cocktail had yellow ends, the lobster dumplings were not completely warm inside and my chopped salad was less than fresh. Service was good as always; however, I will think twice about returning.
Excellent as always, wonderful presentation, outstanding service, home away from home.
The dining experience was great. The menu fits all tastes and has a good price range. It is a beautiful restaurant and they are very attentive. I will continue to frequent this restaurant.
I am sure that there is something on the menu that anyone can enjoy. It is in a beautiful location.
Last few times we have been there service and food has been outstanding... really happy to have this kind of service in the area... will definitively be back.
I had surf and turf. The lobster tail was about 2 oz, slimy in sone part and rubbery for the rest and not luke warm. I asked for the filet to be cooked medium well and it was definitely well done and dry. There was a signature steak sauce on the plate which I did not like. The potato and spinach were great. We started out with calamari and a Caesar salad which were both really good and so was the dessert. Our waitress was absolutely fabulous. I should have sent the surf and turf back but I didn’t, so that was my fault. The prices were very high for such a causal small restaurant. I would definitely go to a different next time we are there.
Very pleasant experience. Striped Bass was excellent and the scallops were moist and cooked perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant highly.
We have visited Earls many times and have not been disappointed. Appetizers are excellent. Entrees offer a wide range, my favorite is the scallops. Service is always outstanding.
Nice place. Very good service from front desk to wait staff. Food nothing special. Bread basket very good. Martini fair at best. But I got s desk from hotel do dinner was half price. That was a good thing. All in all it was ok.
I have been to Earl's several times and have had a good experience. This time, the food was sub par. I ordered the salmon with potato hash. The has was served charred. My date ordered the shrimp lo mein which was average at best.
Went on quiet Sunday night. Lovely window table for two overlooking Golden Plough. Service excellent and very attentive. Delicious hot bread. Calamari appetizer lightly breaded and done to perfection. She Crab soup a definite must!! Grilled salmon very moist and ample portion. Divers scallops tasty and large, however mushroom risotto quite bland. Overall, would definitely recommend Earl's.
Another great experience !
Great Service - very attentive. Wonderful atmosphere with the fireplace. And better yet is the spaciousness of the seating - you don't feel crowded. The victuals are of limited choice but excellent in taste and presentation. The handcrafted cocktails are unique and delish.
Loved it. Delicious meal with very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Just a great night with a fabulous singer serenading the crowd. Stayed at the bar instead of getting a table and enjoyed the wisdom of the bartenders and the delicious food. A Wednesday night date night treat!
Food was very good. I ordered the crab cake & my husband ordered the lamb chops & oysters. Th coconut cake for dessert was wonderful. Was perfect to share. Rather large for one serving. Our server, Ehrin, was attentive, knowledgeable & friendly.
Stayed over in peddler's village, decided to give Earl's a try. We both enjoyed our meals. The pear cocktail was tasty. And the doughnuts for dessert were yummy.
We had a fantastic time at Earl's! We went as a belated Valentine's Day treat, and we were glad we did! I loved my steak, and my husband loved his sea bass. We will definitely be back!
The restaurant was lovely! Everything has a very fresh clean vibe and the food was fantastic! We ordered the lobster dumplings as an appetizer and devoured them in seconds! It was very nice and quiet when we got there around 5:45, but by 7pm it was packed and a bit loud. I would still recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out!
Excellent food and service
Had Valentine's Day dinner at Earl's and was very pleased with the experience. We
were seated at the time of our reservation even though it was a busy evening. Our
waitress was very pleasant and gave us good service. The entrees' that we had were
excellent (filet of beef and Seafood Chiopino). The bread was excellent and we were
told that they have it shipped from San Francisco. The only disappointment was that
we could not hear the live music from the dining room. I would highly recommend
this restaurant.
Earl’s never disappoints - I like the use of local foods, and the fries are outstanding
Great ambiance, delicious food, and quick friendly service.
We asked for a quiet spot and were very pleased. Our Waiter was unobtrusive but attentive and the food delivered perfectly. I always order the She Crab soup, with good reason, delightful. Always Delicious bread, desserts. A pleasant stop in Peddlar's Village.
The food and service was amazing but the food took an hour and a half. It wasn’t that busy either.
This was our first time to Earls. We were seated and greated by our waitress very quickly. Our drink order was taken and back just as fast. We order calamari which was very good. My husband and I both ordered filet cooked medium as our meal. After an hour or so, our waitress came to apologize for the wait on the meal. We were in no hurry so we honestly thought nothing of it. The manager came over to apologize as well and offered a round on the house. Shortly after our meals finally came out. Both steaks were well done. Mine was actually quite burnt. We are not people to complain, however when the waitress came to check on us she noticed the steaks before we could even say anything. She insisted on taking both steaks off our check, and offered to put in a new order. She explained a "chef issue" in the kitchen. We did not take them up on the additional steak offer. We are hoping to give them another try soon. We realize things happen and want to make their efforts to make things right for us worth it.
My wife and I go to Earl’s about once a month and have been for over a year now. It’s a great spot in a great location to spend a couple hours on the weekend. We highly recommend Earl’s to anyone looking for a quality meal, in a great setting, that won’t break the bank.
The staff was very friendly, the wait staff was amazing. The food was unbelievable, as usual. The fried chicken was the best I have ever had. My husband’s steak was delicious.
My husband and I went to Earls for date the weekend before Valentine’s Day . Everything was exceptional we went in the afternoon so it was quiet but not deserted . The lobster dumplings were our favorite the crab bisque was delicious also . We sat by the window so we could look out at the village it was fantastic
enjoyed a wonderful meal after the theatre on an early Sunday at 5pm. My wife's filet was perfect - temperature and all as was my pasta fusilli dish. As an Italian-American I insist that my pasta be served piping hot - not warm - piping hot. I gave that instruction to the waitress and she and the chef came through - perfect temperature !!! Interesting menu which was just a tad different which made it interesting. We will be back - actually this coming weekend.
The Dinner menu is much broader than the lunch menu. Most likely will not be returning for Lunch but most definitely for Dinner.
I was extremely unhappy with this restaurant. I wrote a note through open table explaining that we were celebrating a special occasion. I also called the restaurant and they acknowledged the occasion and our reservation. I requested a window table or booth by the window. When we arrived, we were sat at a table right outside of where the food is run to and from the kitchen, in the middle of the restaurant. They also seated 2 parties of 2 before us and both were seated at the window, so its not as if the tables were not open. The food was also not good, and I would not recommend the fish at all. I order the sea bass and it came out in a oiled mess. The sauce was separated in the dish and when you broke the fish apart, it was lost in the sauce. It was extremely unpleasant to eat and had no flavor at all. We were checked on once throughout the meal but it was so rushed even if I expr3essedmy displeasure the server wouldn't have heard me. When it came time for the check, there was no acknowledgement again that we were celebrating a special occasion.
I wound not come back here or recommend this to anyone. Extremely displeased!
We were impressed by our waiter. Very attentive. The steak was done perfectly and delicious.
We had a wonderful waitress Doreen. She showed us privacy with appropriate attentiveness. We enjoyed the food for the most part but the Salmon which was grilled was dry and we would have liked to see the menu reflect a more winter focused selection. The menu was stuck in fall presentations.
A surprisingly average meal at Earls. Service was very slow. Sides were either over cooked or barely cooked. Main proteins, however were perfectly prepared. Let’s just call it an off night.
Great food, atmosphere!!
Very inviting. Will definitely be back.
