Earls Kitchen + Bar - Downtown Denver
Made reservations which required myself and my date to dine upstairs. When we showed up the upstairs area was closed and was not to be opened at all for the night.
The steaks were fantastic
What a pleasant surprise, especially the scallops. They were AWESOME! Being from Florida, I don’t usually expect good seafood in Colorado, but this was an except ion!
Amazing flavor... had the blackened swordfish tacos & my daughter had the fried tofu bowl.
I just really like their bibimap dish and drinks. So when I get a craving for this dish we always go there.
It was very loud and we could not hear each other so not a good place for conversation. However, we were there right at 5 pm and happy hour. We all had salads and they were excellent.
Lovely servier who gave us plenty of space to conduct our business meeting, but was quietly attentive to plates, beverage, etc.
This location had a great view and was perfect for the summer. The menu didn't have the same options as the restaurant in the DTC and that was very disappointing. The girl who waited on us was nice but the staff in the DTC were outstanding.
We enjoyed our lunch. The ribs were very tender and tasty. The coleslaw was excellent as was the warm potato salad.
Our experience has mixed reviews. We waited for at least 5-10 minutes at the hostess stand and finally went to the bar to get a hostess. They said sorry they were short-handed. Not a good start. There was a very large loud group on the other side of the restaurant (not their fault) but we had to listen to them the whole time. I felt the pricing was a bit high. The food was good overall. The wine prices were way overpriced. My glass of "nothing special" wine was $13 for a tall pour. Lastly, we had asked for drink specials. They had a few craft beers for $3/pint. Great news until we got the bill and the waitress didn't take the discounts off and had to have her settle that prior to paying tab. Overall, I don't think I will be back. Too bad....I was looking forward to their happy hour specials, but Ill go somewhere else more than likely.
Steaks ordered medium rare came out well done. They said the chef went home and a new guy took over. Then they replaced the steaks and comped them so all ended well. Just seems inexcusable, though, as it’s so basic. Better luck to you if you try Earl’s.
Good food and good friendly service.
Delicious power bowl salad. Very loud dining room. Had to move closer to hear but Enjoyed the energy.
The food was amazing along with the service, I would definitely recommend this to anybody traveling in this area!
Very disappointed to learn that they were out of filet steaks. What??? How does that happen? Service was very slow as well. Will find another downtown dinner option next time.
Say on the patio it was beautiful out. Great food and was surprised by them having unbelievable brunch happy hour! Will definitely be back you can’t beat it!
Our server, Rachel, was great. She took the time to get to know us and made the dining experience that much better. The food was delicious, as well. I will say- I'm surprised they don't do anything for birthdays. If the reservation asks for an occasion, it's fair to think the restaurant will celebrate it. I was disappointed by that.
Both my husband and I called Earls to let them know it was my birthday and that we wanted a quiet table upstairs and we were assured that would happen. However, when we arrived they sat us downstairs. We addressed this with them and they moved us, but I wondered why we called in the first place since no one followed our request. Also, they never mentioned they knew anything about the birthday - most places offer a free dessert for birthdays. The cocktails we ordered were terrible so we went to wine instead, but the food was really good!
Server was good but extremely busy also bussing and cleaning tables. Coconut shrimp was poor.
$18.75 for a watery Manhattan!
Great spot with amazing Margaritas
Catching up with a friend while in town
We arrived during happy hour and were very pleased with the available options and prices. Had a very good meal and drinks at an affordable price. Will definitely come back.
Great food, location, and atmosphere! Been here a few times and love it!
Have to say, I love Earl's. It is, on the surface, pretty unassuming - a bustling restaurant right in the 16th Street Mall downtown. Always really busy with what seem to be business lunches (I tend to go there more during the day, so cannot speak as well on the evening scene). So you expect the usual sort of uninspired fare - burgers, steaks, salads. They have that stuff, but it is really elevated, and it is a really diverse menu with a large selection of both Asian and Mexican dishes - all of which is actually really well done. And most importantly (for me) they have a whole "plant-based" section of the menu, and the menu options are all excellent. At most places like this they MIGHT have an "Impossible Burger" as an option, or a few things where they can take the cheese or sauce off and make it Vegan, but then it ends up bland and uninspired. Here the plant-based options are on the menu, and are all interesting and delicious. And service is also always excellent! (I did eat here before going on a plant-based diet and can also attest their meat/seafood/cheese/dairy containing items are also delicious.)
There were 6 of us. Two entrees were made incorrectly. We were charged for the incorrect entrees and then again for the correct entrees. They took the two incorrect ones off our bill after we pointed it out to them. Not sure how that happened. Make sure you check your bill!!!
Poor service and alright food.
We love Earls! We went for Father's Day. The staff and food were excellent. We will be back soon.
It had beautiful scenery. The food was great. It was toasty in the building though. Server was efficient.
We loved the overall set up but felt the noise level for 7pm was way too loud. Could be were we were seated but ti was a bit too much for us to hear our friends. Food was very good as was service.
Our party of 3 reservation was acknowleged and we were seated right away at a requested booth at the height of happy hour. Restaurant was very crowded and noisy but being seated close to open area leading to outside dining, the noise level was somewhat diffused. We had been to Earls a couple of times before on visits to Denver. Returned because of previous good dining experience. This time food and service (our server was very attentive to our needs),was very good. My meal was a bit too spicy for me but it's what I ordered. Other two diners in our party were very satisfied. All in all a very good meal.
The food was incredibly tasty, server was warm, and the vibe was great! It was however quite loud and couldn't hear myself talking to my friend.
The food was great; clam chowder, sushi roll, blackened chicken salad. Our waitress was professional but seemed to have way too many tables to properly service all of them properly. A bit noisy upstairs (6pm). Overall a good experience. Would recommend Earl's, and would come again.
The server was not super attentive.
Great place that always delivers whether it’s a work lunch or just a night out!!
The only negative was the server. He approached our table and began the interaction with “what do you want to drink?” The whole night he made us feel like we were bothering him. I still have four stars because everything else was great. Maybe he was having a bad night.
We enjoyed a great family brunch with beautiful weather sitting in front of the open front windows. Excellent food and service!
Hopefully, our last visit was unique and not the norm but the service was terrible. The hostesses were talking when I came to the stand and didn't even greet me to say they'd be with me in a minute and it was a while before they even helped me. We were seated upstairs and there was clearly only one server for the entire front area. We waited at least 10-15 minutes for our waiter to even come to us and when he finally did, he was interrupted by a manager which was very unprofessional given how long we waited to begin with. That was the only time we saw a manager. Everything took a long time, he never refilled our waters or drinks, never checked on us once our food was served and it took forever to pay our tab. It was clear he was having to do everything for all his tables himself and had no help. It wasn't his fault but management should have stepped in.
Great food and service! Try the ribs! They are amazing! The ambiance is fun and energetic. That being said it can be difficult to have thoughtful convos. This is the place to unwind, have a drink, eat good food and socialize!
Very good place to go for food and drinks before show at the Paramount
