Eagle's Nest - Hyatt Regency Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
We had a 9:30 reservation on a Saturday night. We drove from Oklahoma City and were not disappointed. The ambiance that is created by the dimly lit spinning restaraunt was very romantic at least my wife and I thought so. The service was awesome, our waiter knew the menu and offered what his thoughts were, he was also very entertaining. The food was incredible as I had the red bass and my wife had the Filet. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. We had a bottle of roscotto wine, if you're into sweet white wines I highly recommend it. Lastly the dessert we had was a smoked s'mores chocolate mousse with a butterscotch drizzle. I found it to be quite the cap of a perfect night.
I went to eagles nest celebrate a special evenings with loved ones. I ordered the grilled prawns appetizer and the prawns were overcooked. This didn't stop here, for my entrée I ordered the scallops which to my surprise were overcooked again. So I definitely didn't have a pleasant experience for the amount of money I paid for this dinner.
The seating arrangement was horrible. It was uncomfortable to be seated on the upper portion. My fiancé and I (two females) were seated right in front of the males restroom, which we could see into every time the door swung open. Although it is a rotating restaurant, it was still uncomfortable to have to suffer it for two rotations and 30 mins out of the hour and half we were there.
The food was horrible! Definitely not worth the price tag. We ordered the octopus, bone marrow, the duck, the lamb, creme brûlée and the peach mimosa cake. Nothing good came out of their kitchen.
Quite a disappointment. Would never dine here again, not even for the view.
For the price I would highly recommend choosing somewhere else. While the views and experience are somewhat unique, the food is not up to par with the prices. It seems that the Eagles Nest struggles to create a functional and practical menu that matches the upscale dining experience.
The view is terrific. The service was very good. The food was the worst. I had prime rib that was over cooked, no seasoning, tough and a very thin cut. I have had better prime rib at Golden Coral . My wife and I have dined at this restaurant many times for over 30 years. The food this time was not worth 10 bucks. A hundred forty dollars for a meal that was simply awful. Such a shame for such a wonderful place otherwise.
The rotating roof top provides great views of the city. The food was excellent. However, the service from start to finish ruined the experience. It started in the lounge area where we thought we'd order a drink while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. We had to flag down a waiter to take our drink order and then wait for 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. No coasters or cocktail napkins until we asked for them. Once seated we ordered cocktails and waited. The waiter came back by and asked if we wanted to order an appetizer, which we did. Later, the appetizers showed up, but the cocktails didn't arrive until we were half way through with our appetizers. Since our waiter was nowhere to be found we flagged down another member of the staff and were told that they were down a bartender. Eventually the drinks showed up and after an uncomfortably long period of time, our entrees arrived. We didn't see our waiter again until a full 20 minutes after we were finished eating. Eventually we flagged down another member of the staff who told us their computers were down. It would have been nice if someone would have at least come by and let us know what was going on before we got frustrated and asked to see the manager. By then we suggested that the other two couples in our party leav while dealt with the final check. The manager finally showed up with our bill and told us he'd deducted 20% for our inconvenience.
We are done with this place.
Overall, great experience. Went there on a date. The atmosphere was amazing. Great local beers. I had the NY strip. It was mediocre. I can honestly make a better one at home. My date had the scallops and they were pretty good. A little over seasoned. If you are going there JUST for the food it is over priced.
Now the view. This is where you get your money's worth. We arrived shortly before sunset. We were fortunate to be seated so we could watch the sun set behind the JW. It was breathtaking. Once the sun went down and the lights came on, Indy became absolutely stunning. The view alone made the prices worth every penny.
This was our anniversary and I wanted some place very special to take my wife to for dinner. The eagles nest definitely made it a great place to dine. The service was far above our expectations and the food was great. The steak was so tender and juicy I think I could have cut it with the handle of my knife. Ad the great view and it makes for the perfect place to go with someone you love.
The view is incredible - try to reserve a table near the time of sunset. If you must take a later reservation time, go ahead and arrive early. You can be seated in the lounge area and still experience the beautiful sunset. Great cocktails and craft beer selection. Everyone is very friendly and service was wonderful. The food was okay - we ate it all but it would be nice to see the menu changed up a bit to include farm to table and fresh food. They did have some really great choices for those who like to venture out of their comfort zone... Octopus appetizer! Dessert was rich and one dessert was plenty for two to share because of the richness. Taste of coffee with dessert was lackluster - they could use a bolder more tasty blend... and didn't they have dessert coffee some years ago? They served chocolate chips and other sweet items to put in your coffee. Have enjoyed Eagles Nest off and on for some years now and will return.
We were in Indianapolis for a football game and to celebrate our anniversary. Since we were staying at the Hyatt, we decided to celebrate our anniversary at this revolving restaurant at the top of the hotel. The good was delicious and we had great service. Recommend highly!!
