Great service and our food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend!
Our staff is doing the 5 star dance. Thank you for the positive review and we look forward to your next visit at E3 Chophouse.
We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at E3 Chophouse in Steamboat Springs. The food was absolutely to die for. We started out with the dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon - YUM! My husband had the Lobster Bisque which was very good, then he had a petite filet and braised Brussels sprouts and sautéed mushrooms. I had Lamb chops, new potatoes and glazed carrots (and of course had to try the Brussels sprouts). We had a lovely time chatting and tasting the food and were not rushed at all.
We are so happy you chose E3 Chophouse to enjoy your special evening. Our staff always strives to provide the best service and product so we're happy our hard work showed. We look forward to you celebrating your next special occasion at E3!
Food quality here is excellent and for a special occasion it’s one of the best spots in town. Service very attentive and professional. We were here during restaurant week, so special dinner deal. ..a good deal but prices generally are very high. We had to dine very early bc no tables available to reserve...yet all thru our dinner, there were six empty tables!? Why? We felt it was Not a welcoming system or attitude . We are locals...so we’ll go back...but only bc the food is great!
Hi, Thanks for the review. We apologize about the amount of open tables during your visit. We stay open in the off season as to support our staff and keep them employed. As a restaurant we lose money during these seasons but believe it is more important to provide an income for our employees. On this note we staff based on reservations and do our best to but sometimes we have to space out timing to make sure our guests receive the best possible service. We look forward to seeing you again!
A couple of things that would make E3 a 5 star: (we were there for Restaurant Week)
1. Take the lobster out of the shell at the table so that the customer doesn't risk dropping on the floor.
2. The ribeye was not nearly as good as the strip -- server wasn't sure she delivered the correct steak to the correct customer when we mentioned this. The ribeye was also suppose to be medium rare and it was medium.
3. My husband never received his coffee when he ordered our dessert.
4. Dropped off the bill BEFORE we received our dessert -- very, very disappointing.
Our server was very friendly, but just not up to the TOP notch service that is expected in this very high end restaurant.
Hi Stacey 1. We agree, the shell should be more of a decoration than actual work. 2. We always strive to cook the steaks perfectly and always are ready to fix any mistake, apologies this was not the case on the evening of your visit. 3./4. very disappointing, as the manager I take full responsibility for not having my staff trained correctly. Thank you for the honest feedback. We are always trying to improve and these descriptive reviews help us accomplish our goals. Thank You!
I have dined many times at E3. Always high quality steaks. However, the last year or so the quality of the meat has gone down.
Not sure why? Suggest you check with your staff as to who is responsible.
Great steak, great service, and great views. Definitely worth the price you pay for an outstanding dining experience.
Staff and management were attentive and friendly.
Beautiful views, we sat next to the windows overlooking the patio and river. Quiet, yet had a nice energy.
While E3 Chophouse is a very nice Restaurant in regards to ambiance, food and service, however the prices were quite high and Wine choices were all extremely high. Prices were not listed online or in Restaurant Brochures, which would have changed our choice for enjoying an Anniversary dinner.
It was a perfect night for my 26th birthday dinner. The server Bri made it a special night, quick service, amazing wine and dessert on the house. It was chilly outside so they brought out portable heaters and blankets. The filet was cooked perfectly and the loaded mashed potatoes were to die for. Highly recommend seating outside, it’s very romantic and the sound of the river was very relaxing. 10/10
Atmosphere was amazing, but orders came out wrong and quite average compared to our past experiences there,
Lovely restaurant, professional server. My pork chop was a bit over cooked. Nothing on the menu was earth-shattering, just ok.
We arrived on time for our reservation, were greeted and then left standing at the hostess stand with no idea if we were going to be seated or if there would be a slight wait. After waiting about 10 minutes they took us to our table. When they sat our party of 4, there were only place settings for 2 and only 3 chairs, seems like they could have figured that out in the 10 minutes we stood around waiting. Our server came to the table, and covered the specials and notified us of one entree that was not available, but this process took her at least twice as long as it should have as she was clearly high and repeated herself more than once. We placed orders for drinks and wine which came out with no problem, that was great as it was needed at that point to tolerate staying any longer. When we placed orders for appetizers, the first three things we asked for were not available, perhaps she could have mentioned that during the 6 minute run through of the menu where she repeated herself so many times before. We skipped apps. at that point, ordered salad and entrees and hoped for the best. The salad was fine, but way overpriced for the quality that was served. Entrees all came out correct and the food was good, although we waited over an hour for the food to come out - keep in mind they were not busy. Overall, the experience was awful, the service horrible and the only thing that saved the night was great company and a good bottle of wine. I can not in good faith recommend anyone to try E3 and being a long time Steamboat second home owner, I will never return.
We had a wonderful evening love the live music the food and drinks were great prices are a little high! But overall we had a wonderful experience
Probably the best in Steamboat Cuisine. This is my third visit and was less impress during this visit than in the past. The quality of the meat appeared to be a little different than past visits. Comparing your restaurant to Ocean Prime or Shanahan's in the Denver Tech Center, you would come in third position. Great for Steamboat standards, much less than I expected.
Nice evening on the patio. Ribeye was not worth what was charged. Was thin and could have been more flavorful. Waitress was sweet and pretty attentive. Appetizer and salad came out quickly but dinner seemed slow. Creamed Spinach bland. Bar area was nice.
While the bisque was the best and the martini was perfect, my steak was not great. It was fine. I live on a cattle ranch and have pretty high expectations when it comes to steak. Our bill was far too high for the quality of food. I've heard they have a great happy hour, I will go back and try that.
We received the worst service at E3. It was such a bummer. We watched as people around us were served but no one came to our table. We finally went to go ask for someone to serve us after sitting there for 35 minutes. We met a wonderful waitress who did her best to salvage the evening however the evening still went down hill. Drinks took another 20 minutes to get, the food came and there was a bug in one of the dishes, the manager was not very helpful. Like I said the sweet girl who came to serve us was great but the horrible experience was happening simultaneously. Thankfully because my mom was so gracious on her birthday we made the most of our evening; however I will not return to E3.
Sadly we didn’t have a good experience at E3. It was a special night for us as we have 6 kids at home. My husband ordered a $40 steak, and that’s all he got. They completely forgot about his sides. The salmon was good but not for the price.
Incredible food. Excellent and friendly service. Will definitely go back.
Great menu, delicious food and great service.
Food is delicious, as usual. Really, the only complaint I could come up with is that it's expensive, but everything else about E3 is excellent. If you want a special dinner, this is the place.
Amazing restaurant. Food was out of this world. Big meal, but not too rich! Just the right amount of fun food. Highly recommend this place. Not just another steakhouse. Go for the ambience and the amazing waiters as well. We sat by the river, it was a little cold, but we were given a heater immediately upon request. Our meal was perfectly spaced out to also us to digest each course. Truly could not have asked for a better meal. Our server, Ryan, was truly amazing. Super knowledgeable about the menu, fantastic seller of the items, and so much fun to converse with. Amazing when a server knows anything about the menu you can ask and is truly passionate about his restaurant. Highly recommend coming here for an awesome night.
HI! Thank you for the Amazing review and we can't wait to share this with your server Ryan and the rest of the staff. We know he is a valuable asset to our company but we always appreciate these kind of comments as the staff works very hard and we're proud this showed during your dining experience! We look forward to your next visit at E3 Chophouse in Steamboat.
Beautiful atmosphere but that’s where it ends. I ordered the New York strip -medium- and it came out beyond well done. I sent it back and then got another steak that was very Rare. For the sake of simplicity and that my guest was almost done with their food, I just kept it and ate around the edges. The steak was flavorless and bland. Their prices are on par for many 5 star steakhouses I’ve been to, so for $53 I expected better quality. A steakhouse that can’t do a steak maybe should do something different. Save your $200 and go somewhere else.
Our reservation was at 8:15. Despite several tables being available, we weren’t seated until 8:30. Service/kitchen was so slow we didn’t get our entrees until almost 10pm. We had been nearly the only people there since about 9.
I will not return again.
Great Steaks, great drinks, great Service. Ask for John
Hi Jeff, Thank you for taking the time to give us such an amazing review. John is such a valuable member of our team and we look forward to sharing your review with him and the whole staff who all contributed to your great evening!
Great location, ambiance, and food. The kitchen was a little slow, but the food was worth the wait. We’ll be back.
On a road trip from Ontario Canada to Sacramento. E3 is out of the way on the road. Had to make a stop in Steamboat Springs to eat at E3. Best steak I’ve ever had. The outdoor patio by the river is just awesome!!!
Birthday dinner was amazing.
The steak was over cooked and the service was super slow. It took forever to be acknowledged, to be served and to get our food. I expect more for the price point.
Our waitress was great! The hostess was not. The food was as wonderful as always! Sat outside till the rains came then they moved us to a much smaller table kinda in a reserve room, which wasn’t so great for the $500 we paid for the meal and there were other tables available we could have been seated at. But other than that it was great! The lil hostess was way to young to be dealing with the public and not personable at all. She needed more training working with the public before being put in that position as the first person you deal with at your restaurant. If we had t been there before we might not have stayed. Our waitress was GREAT!
Food is very good but $18 for Lobster bisque is too much- love the place but prices have skyrocketed
We had a reservation. We were seated for 20 minutes before we could even get a drink menu. I had to ask the hostess for a waiter. I dont mind taking 2 1/2 hours for dinner, but I would like something to eat or drink in that time period. Our first drinks came about 40 minutes after arriving. My daughter had to ask for bread 3 times. I've been to E3 several times in the past and did not have these problems. I've recommended it to several OOT guests but would not do so right now.
Britney, our server was awesome. So friendly and professional
Excellent setting & atmosphere, Good service, good food, good bar, Definitely recommended,
The service was very poor. Our server rarely came by. Of the four of us three had to send their steaks back. We have been to this restaurant many times and were surprised at the poor quality of the food and service
Terrific outside table by the Yampa River! Outstanding food and service...exceptional steakS!
We have been to E3 many times, back to when it first opened. It is probably the best outdoor dining location in Steamboat, but what we have seen over time is an increasingly disappointing food quality at ever increasing prices, and inconsistent service. And this time was no exception.
We arrived early, so we could have a pre-dinner cocktail on the lawn. 10 minutes to place a drink order, another 15 to get it. My wife's Sunset Margarita (Pineapple Jalapeno Raspberry-Infused Espolon Tequila, Sour, Pineapple Juice, Triple Sec) looked and tasted like watered down lemonade. My beer seemed like it had been sitting on the bar for 15 minutes, which it probably had.
When seated for dinner, our server (Ammoy) was very good. Unfortunately, that couldn't be said of the dinner. My lamb chops looked great on the plate, but turned out to mostly fat (probably 2/3) and what meat there was (ordered med-rare) was sort of some strange grey-pink color. The new potatoes were dried out, shriveled and cold. The honey glazed carrots were basically raw and no hint of honey. My wife's filet, while cooked appropriately, had no flavor at all and her asparagus was very thick and fiberous. We commented to the server and he said he would have the manager come over. Never saw the manager. The bottle of wine we ordered was reasonably priced, or at least we thought, until the bill came and we were over charged by $30 from what was on the wine list. After pointing it out the server, he corrected our bill and apologized, saying that the price in the system was higher than what was on the wine list. Can't help but wonder how often people didn't catch the difference and whether it was intentional.
I have believed for some time that E3 wasn't worth the money for what you get (I have no aversion for paying for expensive meals but want the experience to be worth it), but my wife has always liked it, so we have kept going back. She is now of the same opinion as me.
We had an absolutely beautiful dinner by the river. It was amazing!
Birthday celebration. We were there an hour before our food arrived and almost 3 for the entire meal. The gazpacho tasted more like spaghetti sauce than fresh vegetables and the entree arugula salad with steak was a little tough and too vinegary. The NY strip and Filet entrees were excellent but the cost of the meal was way too high considering the service and the rest of the entrees. Our waitress was lovely; the slowness of the meal must be the kitchen.
Was a great place to watch the Hot Air Baloons!
