e11even Ratings and Reviews
Went with friend before Toronto Maple Leafs game. Extremely busy place so before games so reservations at such times a must. It’s close and convenient to ACC. We were seated immediately and a erver was polite and attentive. We both had burgers and beer which were very good. I think they forgot to bring our table bread. Nice atmosphere. We were in and out for game and enjoyed our meal. $85 with tip for 2 burgers and 2 beers, so you be judge on value. Go on a business lunch/dinner or before a game for convenience.
We normally love 11even. Our main issue occurred because we drove all the way downtown because we love the truffle mac and cheese and roast chicken. First thing was they took the truffle mac and cheese off the menu. That's fine menus change. But the real issue is that by 8pm on a Saturday night they had sold out of chicken??? A very snooty employee came over to tell us and was explaining that they only prepare so many chickens daily. Listen - they have been there a long time - on a Saturday night 3 hours before close they should not be out of chicken. I had a meatball instead - it was ok. Still no real concession on the bill but $10 and 3 hours later and a spend of $400 and I didn't really like my dinner. In fact 3/5 of our guests all ordered the roasted chicken so there was quite a bit of disappointment. The cocktails were excellent though. I have to say this experience was not good - but I will give 11even another chance because it is usually pretty good.
As always, the food and drinks were excellent. It was also exceptionally efficient for a restaurant of this quality. Usually really good food is a little slower but e11even shows us that it doesn't have to be. Our server was engaging and attentive without being too much, he brought everything including drinks, food and bills in very good time. My only negative note is the noise level here - it's very loud! Otherwise perfect experience.
Service was very poor. Ordered a glass of wine and the glass was very dirty. When we asked for a fresh glass, they returned with the same dirty wine glass. Had to ask a second time for a fresh glass. No apology from the waiter or the manager and we were charged for the wine, which would have been fine had someone come over and apologized for the mistake and inconvenience. Too bad for a restaurant in such a convenient location.
Overall, we enjoyed dining at E11even. This was our second time attending prior to the Leafs game. My only negative comment is that it took approximately 10 minutes after we were seated before the server came to the table. I have worked in restaurants and can appreciate when it is busy it may take some time for the server to attend at the table. A simple acknowledgement within a minute of sitting down to say Hello and we would be with you soon would have gone a long way.
The service the rest of the way was very good and our main course was fantastic. The $22 appetizer shrimp was good but very expensive for the amount of shrimp.
We will probably be back in the future. Thanks, Chris
So this booking was so last minute which was done online at 7pm and i booked my resos for 10 which would be after the raptors game. I showed up 20mins later of what i booked it for and the staff was very friendly to assist me to my table.. the food was delicious and the service was on point. Overall a great experience
Great restaurant for pre-game dinner & drinks. Did not feel rushed. Shared appetizers (crab cake and tuna tartare) were both excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed Diver scallops and Ribs. Only negative was being seated close to kitchen (extremely noisy and difficult to have a conversation)
We were able to obtain a reservation on short notice which was great for us since it was a Friday night. Great wine, great service. A little noisy, not a problem for us, but maybe for others. The crab “cakes” proved to be only one large crab cake but it was excellent, my favourite. Shrimp linguine was very good. My friend ordered steak frites and it was served with both horseradish mayo and tomato ketchup, so choose Euro or NA condiments! We would definitely return, but might be chaos on Leafs or Raptors game nights, so reserve well in advance.
Server didn't offer specials, completely misheard my order (this is after a lunchmate actually asked me out loud, right in front of our server what I was having and I repeated it (chicken salad), but tuna salad arrived. I asked a few other questions (ie what was the juice of the day) and the response was it "didn't come up at the morning meeting". First poor experience here, but it definitely stood out.
Due to a misunderstanding, our orders were placed at different times and therefore I had to wait for the food to arrive for the other guest I was dining with. This was a misunderstanding of the server. Nothing complimentary was offered for the mistake made, which was unfortunate for a restaurant of this caliber.
I booked this because we were going to a concert at the ACC and it was close - but for the money you are way better off going to Aria - the food is outstanding and the cost is the same. e11even is ridiculously overpriced - and I'm used to expensive restaurants - but the food is just average and the prices are crazy ($18 for a hot dog). I had a seared tuna salad that was mostly cabbage (really you couldn't make it with a better base??) and way too much dressing...the tuna was barely seared - really raw - and most of the wines are very expensive - it was hard to find a bottle in the $40-$55 range. We had two salads, two cocktails, a bottle of $60 wine and shared some oysters as an appetizer and it was $230 - I'm sorry but that's nuts. Go to Aria - way better food, just as close, way better restaurant.
Has the basil shrimp linguine and it was too oily. This is the fourth time being there. First two times the food was good but they must have changed chefs or something for last time the burger was greasy too. Not sure I would come back. Expensive for what you get for portions are small. There are a lot of restaurant cheaper and better.
This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. The room was crowded and we were in a two seater between a row of two seaters. We could hear the conversations on either side of us better than one another. The background noise was high, the food was okay (nothing wrong with it, but nothing memorable). However, our server was lovely! He was professional, attentive, knowledgeable, great personality. To get out of the bench I had to squish between the tables and my BMI is in the normal range! It was handy to the ACC, but I will not go back.
