Water at table wasn't cold...wish they also put ice in water glasses. But their pomegranate martini was delicious!!! I got the loco and it was so awesome...I'm not a sushi lover but the rest got that and said it was delicious as well.
Love this place!
Always good food and service. Josh is the best. Recommended a fine wine that was not expensive. Always a good time with interesting food.
Good food, great ambiance. Our waiter was new and it showed. I will go back, the cuisine is creative and quite tasty.
Good, except the Chilean sea bass pho dish was too spicy and too small for the price.
Fantastic! Do not miss the brussel sprout salad, even if like me you don't like brussel sprouts!
So fun celebrating my birthday with friends - perfect menu and fun atmosphere. The ocean water is the best cocktail there!
We loved sitting at the bar. Everything was excellent from the food to the service and decor. The bartender, Greg, was super helpful with my numerous food intolerances. We'll definitely go back!
I love this place and eat here often, usually for lunch or on a week night. The food and service are both top notch. Last night for the first time we went on a weekend night and were seated in the back room, and the noise level was extremely unpleasant. Our waiter had to raise her voice to talk to us, we had to raise our voices to talk to one another, and of course everyone in the room was doing the exact same thing which just worsened the problem because now we were in a room full of people raising their voices to be heard above the din. The four-top next to us was seated with a party of 20somethings who apparently asked to be seated elsewhere, as the minute their waiter showed up, they got up and followed him out. Whoever designed this room full of hard surfaces apparently didn't think about what would happen when it was full of talking people. We'd eaten in the same room a few nights before (a Tuesday) when the room was only half full, and the noise wasn't even a slight problem. I don't know if the smaller front room is better when full, but I wouldn't accept being seated in the back room again on a busy night.
First a caveat or two. This is a restaurant where sushi is a primary emphesis and we didn't eat any sushi or surimi. We ate five dishes from the "tapas" and small plate menu, and while all of them were satisfactory, only one did we like enough to say we would buy it again. The other four dishes read well and were properly cooked, but lacked any real flavor. We may be outliers; the restaurant was full on a weeknight and has good reviews on Open Table - our reason for trying E&O.
On a more positive note our service, from Kimberly and support staff, was outstanding. could not have better anywhere in town. And the old Beluga space was pleasant with a wonderful wall of plants touch.
Just to reiterate: we did not try the sushi or surimi which may be the restaurant's principal orientation.
Second time to E+O and the food again was fantastic. We opted for the Brussels spout & kale salad, fish tacos and two sushi rolls (tango and mas sake). Each one was to die for.
Solid beer list (mostly bottles), good wine options and creative cocktails (my personal favorite is the mindful paloma with tequila and jalapeno).
Looking forward to the next time!
Super fresh fish, and the difference in both taste and texture is pretty big, for me. It's definitely more expensive than the "half off every day!" sushi joints all over town, so if you're just as happy with that sushi, you'll probably think E+O's sushi is expensive. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We shared an order of Food Buddha's Crispy Rice, the Chicken Gyoza, Skirt Steak Bowl, and a special that was on the menu, and everything was great!
The food is flavorful and the new happy hour was a great treat. I think what makes this place standout is the staff, they are all very welcoming and attentive.
E + O is my favorite restaurant in Cincinnati! If you haven't heard, the brussel sprout salad is amazing. As well the sushi and other dinner options. It's a great place for a night out in Hyde Park.
Definitely not your average restaurant in Cincinnati, but that’s a good thing. I enjoyed everything about E+O Kitchen and will surely go back when I get the chance.
Small plates were great. A little disappointed with entree because there were no veggies, all noodles and meat
Brunch was very good!
E+O is one of my favorites, always amazing!
Both the food and service were fantastic as always!
Excellent quality inspired original recipes. Try the Brussels Sprouts salad! They also have a spicy margarita called the mindful paloma that is pretty damn good.
Went out with another couple. Great menu for sharing and trying different things! Will go back for sure!
Loved it, definitely coming back. Next time we are going to try the shrimp ceviche and steak bowl!
I had an amazing time! The food was great and the service was outstanding! We will be going back soon. ;)
My new favorite restaurant. Incredible Asian Latin Fusian! Loved the Brussel Sprout/Kale Salad. I’ll be back soon for sure.
I'd been seeing friends post pictures of this place for a while & I was not disappointed now that I've tried it myself. We had the salmon tare tare, Brussels sprouts salad, the "sol" pastor tacos, & carne asada tacos. Sharing is their thing but portion sizes aren't much, so I would say it's perfect for date night or eating with a good friend, but not really for big groups. Everything on the menu is tempting, so sharing is such a good way to sample quite a but. Strawberry sling cocktail is totally underwhelming, though. The ocean water looked like a good one, but our server persuaded me on the strawberry 😐. I look forward to heading back to try even more.
Jonathan is easily the best server there- always wonderful and the reason we'll keep coming back!
The food servings does not match the price. The sushi rolls are really pricey for the small servings.
Menu is a little hard to understand. I was hesitant about my order at first but the food is actually excellent! Nice restaurant.
Food was fantastic! Service was good but not great. We ordered several items and shared.
Great menu options. Strong service. Cool atmosphere at the bar.
Food was great. As a first time visitor, I didn’t really have a clue about what many of the items were in the menu. Although the server was friendly, I didn’t feel the server really explained what the selections were even when asked. Service was average but I would expect better for the cost. Favorite items were Brussel Sprout salad and skirt steak bowl.
Food is delicious, especially kale salad and sushi. Service wasn’t great though as one person in our group got wrong food and dinner came out at three different times for our group. Definitely will be back though as it is great food
As always, the food was amazing. Unfortunately, the service was not. We ordered a lot of food and drinks at Sunday brunch but it took way too long. 2.5 hours total. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant either. First time ever the service took long this long. I know we will be back though bc the food is amazing.
E+O is typically one of my favorite restaurants, but the last two visits left a bad taste in my mouth (not literally--the food is typically delicious). On one occasion, our server hardly visited, and we were left to wait for essential items (water, silverware, etc.). We waited over 20 minutes just for our check, and it seemed that the restaurant was understaffed. On my last visit, after having trouble finding parking, we arrived less than 10 minutes after our reservation time to find that our table had been given away. Forty minutes later, we were finally seated. I understand that we were late, but it seemed we should have been afforded a little leeway, or at least an apology. I'll think twice before I visit E+O again.
If going to a restaurant was a purely visual experience, E+O kitchen would be a 5-star establishment; the decor is gorgeous, and the plating is impressive. However, also I want to enjoy the flavors of my food, and on this front the restaurant leaves room for improvement.
The brussels sprout salad was good, but did not live up to all the "best ever" hype - I've had better just in the past six months. The signature rolls were okay; the fish tasted very fresh, but there was not enough of it. The lacquered duck buns were disappointing, and pot de creme was unremarkable. On a more positive note, the "sol" pastor tacos were excellent; the tortillas are top-notch, and the sweetness of the pineapple worked wonderfully with the grilled pork and kimchi.
Our server was friendly and helpful but slightly awkward. Kudos to him and the team in the kitchen though for excellent timing of the dishes throughout the meal.
very loud on saturday night
Excellent food and excellent service. They strive to make you feel great and the food is creative and full of taste. I have not find this kind of cuisine in Cincinnati.
Great food and service. Only issues were the floors are sticky and bathrooms need a good cleaning.
Great birthday celebration for my daughter.
